Leaving Fremont with $2 more than I took down there to play with. It's not much, but maybe the tide had turned. Got my money on SOA which I wasn't going to play after heading about the terrible pays.

Just a few highlights of my Vegas trip 8/2-8/6. This was a family trip that I had invited my sister and her husband to join us on. She is a teacher in Colorado and this woud be her last chance for a vacation before school starts back. Her grown children decided to come also, so I used my room comps at TI for all of them and then DH and I would be staying at the Venetian since I was in a slot tourney 8/3-8/4. Hubby, nephew and I would be sharing a room at TI on 8/2 as everyone else would not be arriving until 8/3. I'm the only gambler in the group, so my gambling time would be after family time.
I had always heard that Vegas was not as crowded in August as other times of the year so did not expect big crowds. Just my luck to pick the week that there were 3 major conventions in town. I think it literally was more crowded than Halloween. Trying to walk the strip in the evenings was like being in the middle of a wall of people, everything moved as a mass. Way too crowded for me.
Even with all the crowds, the machines were not crowded. which might have something to do with the fact that I couldn't get a decent hit no matter how hard I tried. By decent hit, I mean anything $100 or above.
    Bullet point rundown:
August 2, 2015 - Left our house at 3:30AM eastern time and arrived in Vegas 9:50AM pacific time. Picked up the checked bag and grabbed the shuttle and made it to TI and checked into our strip view room overlooking the pool on the 31st floor by 10:45AM. Tried to take a picture but the window had the Mystere graphic on the outside, so the picture had lots of dots. Went down to find some food, no food porn pics this trip. Then back to the room to relax and grab a nap. I know, who naps first thing in Vegas, but I wanted to preserve my BR as much as possible and not blow it all the first morning.
DH and I saw Mystere for the first time and loved it. This was our first Cirque show.
My nephew was due in at 11, but I get a text from him at 11 saying he was delayed and not sure when he would arrive, seems they couldn't find the plane that was supposed to make the Vegas flight from Houston, how do you lose a plane??? Finally, 2 hours later he's in the air and on the way. I slotted until he arrived and only lost a few hundred waiting on him. Gave him a key to the room. Cashed out and went to bed around 3AM.

August 3, 2015 - Had breakfast at Dennys, checked into Venetian where I was given a beautiful suite on the 6th floor with a horrible view of the rooftops and concrete below. Not a really big deal, as we weren't in the room much. Then we walked all the way down past the closed Riveria to kill time until the others arrived. Stupid move on my part as I had gotten a mani/pedi the day before we left and since I had beautiful smooth feet, ended up with a quarter sized blister on the bottom of my left foot that had me hobbling for the rest of the trip.
Sister and BIL arrived and we got them settled in the room and then down to check-in for room #2 at TI as their daughter and 7 year old granddaughter would be arriving later.
Once everyone had finally arrived and were settled into their respective rooms. We had a quick meal and went our separate ways for the rest of the evening, they wanted to walk the strip and with my blister I had no interest and was ready to hit the slots. I gambled for about 4 hours at Venetian with not a win over $25 the entire time! Finally gave up and went to bed.

August 4, 2015 - My first session of the tourney was at 9AM and I scored mid 7500s, not good. Oh well, I had another session at 1PM and did a little better with 8600s. Saw quite a few scores in the 12000s. One more session on 8/5 to go. Spent the day with family. Left my sister and her family on their own for the evening. Vernon and I went to Fremont for a couple hours, where I actually left with $2 more than I took down there to pay with. Then back to the stip and proceeded to try my luck at Venetian/Palazzo which was dismal. Sister's family had a blow-up at dinner and we never saw my nephew again this trip.

August 5, 2015 - Final session at 9 of the tourney scored 9600s. My scores were too low and when I checked later I had ended up in 208th place. Top 100 received $$ or free play. If was fun and I'd do it again. The free rooms at Venetian that came with the slot tourney offer, more than made up for not placing in the tourney.
Tasty breakfast at Grand Lux, then hubby, sister, niece and great-niece and I went to see Mac King's magic show. Very entertaining, if you haven't seen it, try it you might like it. Walked around a bit, then left family back at TI. I wanted to try playing craps as we had taken the free lesson at Venetian so wanderd down to Casino Royale in search of a $5 table (only place we had seen them- all others were $10). CR only had 1 table open and it was full. So gave up on that idea. Went back to V and organized the room and packed all but the essentials as we had a 6AM flight home. Dinner at Gilley's with the family then back to V/P for the last night of gambling. I tried tons of games, both old and new along with the high limit room and nothing was paying. I only saw 2 handpays the entire time and both were in the HL room at V. One for $1500 on Wheel of Fortune and one for $5000 on Double Diamond.
Finally, realized this was not fun, so quit and went to bed. Brought home some wonderful memories and 1/4 of my bankroll. Put 5900 points on my Grazie card.
