    Winstar Overview

We were going to see our son on OKC and decided to spend the night at Winstar World Hotel and Casino. I thought I would share our thoughts on our experience. Unfortunately, we were only there from 10 p.m. until noon the next day, so there was not a lot of gambling, but we've gambled there before and this was our first time staying there.

Check-in was seamless. There were six people working the counter even at that late hour. They offered a late check-out time even though we did not ask for it. The hotel is AWESOME. It was beautifully decorated and very clean. They had security set out in the hallway to the elevators checking room keys. I like this. They upgraded us to a corner suite, which we also did not ask for. It was very nice. Now we have stayed at the Monte Carlo and now we stay at the Wynn. So, in comparison, I say the room was nicer than a suite at Monte Carlo and obviously not as nice as Wynn Tower Suites.

The Winstar is the LARGEST CASINO IN THE WORLD. It is sooooo huge. We decided to check out the place, since we finally had time.

With regard to restaurants, choices are enormous. You could eat Chinese, Italian, Chips & Ale, Toby Keith's Bar & Grill, Mexican, Orange Julius, Pizza and much, much more.

We checked out the pool area. It is really, really nice. I can see how spending days here could be very relaxing and fun.

The casino floor is vast and I think you could play any machine you are used to playing, with the exception of Top Dollar, which we love. If you ever have an opportunity to stay there, I would highly recommend it.

We did not win any money, or any note-worthy wins, but we had such little time, we played "jack rabbit" slots and couldn't even remember where any machines we liked were because it is so big.

Oh, and they have three high limit slot rooms.

Sounds like a great place. I think I would be sad being at a huge casino and not get to spend a fair amount of time getting to play. One day I am going to make it to that part of the country. Nice to know there is a place to have some fun.

I've been to Winstar 4 times and you are right...it is LARGE! You can get lost and loose others easily. With over 7.400 "electronic games" (they aren't allowed to call them slots), they pack them in there. If it's crowded and busy, it makes it tough to walk around. Plus, it can be loud. The VGT machines always ring when you hit something, even a cherry.

If you are a table games player, be prepared for some random actions due to Oklahoma gaming regulations. For example, you have to make an ante bet for blackjack. Craps is played with playing cards.

They have a mix of Class II (bingo) and Class III games (Las Vegas type), however I prefer the Class III myself. Ate the buffet a couple times and it was OK, but I wouldn't pay for it. Slim pickings in my opinion. Didn't have any of the other restaurants, but they have quite a few to choose from as the OP stated.

Def. bring your walking shoes if you go. Never stayed in the rooms or visited the pool area, but nice to hear both are nice! They have tons of rooms in the Casino and North Towers now.

Last two trips last year were winners for me on their free play...so that was a plus. Prior to that, I lost. Haven't been back since.

You can definitely get lost at Winstar.
Splitting my play in the THREE high limit rooms as well as all the games on the floor can definitely become a challenge.
My first few times playing there, I was just poking my money into games all over the place!

Feels like the big NA casinos in OK run streaky! I have won my fair share but the times that my money just drains out of my pocket out number those trips!
