Next time I do a day trip to my local I a going to try this out. It seems like it takes lots of discipline, and I am in short supply of discipline so we shall see!

You should always walk out with some money with this method. If youre in a casino where you can't turn a 20 into at least 40, I wouldn't play there anymore.

I divide my bankroll into days or just get each day's bankroll from the ATM the morning of before I start gambling.

When I run out of money I do one of these:
    1. Hit up DH if he's been winning
    2. Stop gambling for the day
    3. Make the WOS

Laurie keeps the money and gives me each day's allowance I could never do the envelopes but think it's a great way to do it but I would raid them so Laurie is in charge.

Last couple of trips I divided the bankroll up more by where I was staying. In Vegas in particular I stay longer and usually make a couple of moves. Last trip I had bankroll for Reno, bankroll for Tahoe, a small bankroll for 4 Queens and bankroll for Palazzo. That was a long trip but I came home with some cash. On those long trips I don't bring the entire bankroll, so I moved winnings forward and didn't even make my last planned withdrawal which was nice. For this AC trip I have a night at Foxwoods, 3 at Borgata and a night at Mohegan Sun, so I think I will break it up in 3 (uneven) chunks and see how it goes. I will also bring a little extra for the stumble but not much.

I don't think I could do the $20 in and $40 or more out. I like to play off the same tito all day (or at least the morning, afternoon or evening) when I can. It helps me keep better track. When I start feeding twenties into the machines I have absolutely no idea what I have done until it's all gone. It's much easier for me to keep track if I start out with a hundy. I bet it's fun to count up a fistful of titos at the end of the day though!

Bankroll management is such a huge challenge. The most important thing for me is to STOP for awhile when things are going badly. Eating, taking a walk, changing casinos, or even going to take a pee usually seem to break the cycle.
Bill actually only keeps 3 tito's. He cashes out 40+ wins and when he has 3 tito's, the next time he cashes out he adds the smallest tito to the machine before he hits "cash out". So the 3 tito's keep getting bigger and he doesn't have too much paper hanging around.

By the way, I don't do this system, which might be why he usually has money and I don't.

We've always used the same strategy and it has always served us pretty well. We decide on an amount we'll play per machine and an amount that we'll come out at. We never go to the ATM and never rob from future days or from what has traditionally been Moyra's shopping fund.

We ordinarily bet somewhere between $600 and $1,200 a day but the system doesn't change regardless of the amount played. The amount, in large part, is $5 per machine, betting 40-75c a spin. Any time we get the amount up past $10 or any multiple of $5, we bring it out. Any win of $5 that doesn't take us past $10 gets reclaimed as a technical win. We have, in the last six trips, kept a very close track of what we play and what we win so we can vent at and blacklist specific slots, casinos or casino groups! It is uncanny how we end up using our wee system - between 81% and 91% return but enough comps, free drinks and fun to fully justify the small loss per trip.

We were hoping to go a bit bigger and deploy the same strategy with $20s and bets of 75c-$1.50 a pop but the idiot racists have hammered the pound to such an extent that we're going to stick with the old strategy for now. It's going to be a whole different story gambling with our actual money now rather than with play holiday money as it has always been.

    Cheers,

    Billy

This is so spot on! And it is so easy to forget when you are in the midst of losing at a casino!! This is exactly what I try to do. I only wish I did it more often!

I am probably the absolute worst bankroll manager on the forum lol. I take a set amount for the trip and usually lose over half of it the first day. After that I will bet minimum the rest of the trip.

What's funny is that when I bet the max I am lucky to get a hit that is larger than 10 X my bet, but when I bet 20 or 30 cents I can get up over 1,000 X my bet quite often.
