I'm interested in how it goes too. As recently as a year ago I rarely would bet more than $1.50 on a slot. Video poker a little different, at least on lower volatility games, but you could find me betting 60-80 cents most of the time.

I think the biggest way to re-train yourself is to restrict the amount of bankroll you bring or have access to. I used to bring no more than $300 with me and that could last me all night betting 60 cents unless I had some really bad luck.

That has grown to $500, $600, or even $1000 per day. Mainly because I had some big wins over the past year so I would have that kind of cash in my wallet going to the casino. When I know I have lots of $100 bills on me, I can end up in the high limit room. betting $15 per spin and blowing through them in minutes. If I know I only have $300-$400 on me I know I can't do that and I stay conservative.
I think that's really the best way in my opinion. only thing is that works well on a day trip to a local. on a several day trip though that can be more difficult I know.
