Delta just cancelled my late May non stop to Rome (for a cruise that was already cancelled) so I was able to get a full refund (not e-credits) on the fare. I thought I would have to wait until closer to departure, but I was lucky. I am stuck with too many travel credits, FF Miles, and credit card points, that the last thing I need is MORE travel "e-credits" with expiration dates that, quite frankly, may not be useable. Also, most "non-stop" transcontinental and long range flights have turned into one-stop or two-stop (hub transfer) flights adding more time, stress, and connection-issues for the foreseeable future.
Also, my take on the cruise ship industry (after 80+ cruises, I know it well!)...... be very careful on your reliability of all the "future cruise credits" they are issuing. Hopefully, I am wrong, but the lawsuits starting to pour into the legal system against the cruise lines show a high possibility of real financial trouble for the cruise lines in addition to all the regulatory and business stresses that industry in going through. I am beginning to see the warning signs that these entities, in there current form and state, may not be around to honor those "credits" in the future. Still waiting to get out of this July's Alaska cruise that they have not cancelled yet even though all signals point to the fact that they will eventually cancel. They are leveraging the final payment date cutoff to get people to fully pay without losing the non-refundable deposit.
