This is the weekend we are heading to Harrahs and Horseshoe for the weekend. Our room is at Harrahs and we are supposed to have Diamond lounge and Chairman lounge passes.

Is there a shuttle between the two casinos? Does it run 24/7? Which one of the Diamond lounges has the yummy prime rib sandwiches?

We are thinking of having one nice meal at one of the steakhouses. Should we do the one at Harrahs or Binions at Horseshoe?

In regards to Total Rewards credits, Is it earn tier credits a day get 1000 or earn 2500 get 5000? Do the tier bonus points post immediately or will it take a few days/weeks/months?

Thanks for any additional insight Jokers (especially Laurie and Foamy).

Harrah's casino is very small but there are some old Buffalo machines that are nice! There is a shuttle. I don't think it runs 24 hours at least I know it doesn't during the week. I think there is a sign by the front entrance or ask when you check in.
We had a nice prime rib dinner at the Chairmans lounge in Horseshoe. I prefer HS Diamond lounge over Harrah's also.
As far as steakhouses we like 360 on top of Harrahs best. If you can go later in the evening the view of Omaha at night is beautiful! Reservations may be needed on the weekend.
You can order drinks from the slot machine at both properties.
Tier credit rewards are what you posted the same as at all CET properties. They combine from what you play at both places but it won't show up on your card that way but you will get credit for it.
Good luck and have fun!! Hope you will report back to us!!

Thanks Laurie! I was hoping you would see this!

I'm bummed that we didn't get a room at Horseshoe, but it sounds like the two are pretty close so that's okay.

We will for sure check out the buffalo machines at harrahs and the horseshoe diamond lounge.

Thanks again!!!

I stayed at Harrahs Council Bluffs last year . The staff were outstanding and although their casino was small and a little smokey, I had a lot of good play there. There is also a shuttle to Ameristar, which is about 10 minutes away, and this is a much bigger, newer casino with lots of good slots and restaurants. After I put in some $$ a host came up to me and gave me a $30 food voucher. Not bad. Really liked playing at Council Bluffs and we have some dear friends in Omaha so will be going again. Have a great time!

I believe the shuttle runs until 2 or 3 in the morning also the hotel at Horseshoe is not even attached it is across the street but yeah preferred play would be at the Horseshoe for selection of games

The Hilton Garden Inn is attached to Horseshoe. There are 3 other hotels that HS put people at that are walking distance or they shuttle you.

That's the one we were hoping to stay at, but the host didn't check back until it was too late...

I agree 360 steakhouse view is great get a table on the riverside and you look over downtown Omaha. The shuttle run's all night on weekends I think but would check and I think it only goe's to horseshoe not ameristar. Also while your in town go to joe tess and get a carp sandwich it's seemoreroyals favorite. hhh

It's hard to get a room there. It's small. That's why we usually end up at Harrahs hotel.

Anyone going to Council Bluffs should go with foamy to get a carp sandwich. Although they have bones in them and were difficult to eat, if you take your time and pick the bones out of them they are not too bad. Or you can do what foamy does and eat them bones and all.

This isn't gambling related, but what about farmer's markets or farm stands in the area? We usually do a weekly run to our local one but we won't be home for it and I live for local veggies and fruits in the summer. Also, can you recommend any meat markets?
