View Full Version : FoundersCard - Complimentary CET Diamond Status

I saw this posted over on Flyertalk. If you apply for the FoundersCard (https://founderscard.com/#benefits), a membership service for entrepreneurs and people in business (I'm a professional gambler? That work?? LOL), they will upgrade you to Caesars Diamond Status. It does have an annual fee of $395, but may be worth it if you frequent the Diamond Lounge and use the other perks with it. (And match it other properties and get those benefits too). I also read there is an initiation fee. The website is very vague until you get approved it appears.

I have read about it before. Not for me
In other news Steve bourie of American casino guide is asking for donations
Can give him money and get G2E pass and get to walk around with him
and/or get an autographed copy of his coupon book
Perhaps he got the idea from Vegas rover

Now there is an option to have the 2016 edition dedicated to yourself
The cost is 1500 and royal flusher would like this. So far he has a pledge of .47 he is a nice guy if you want to pledge
It does end soon Friday 17th.
It's on kickstarter

I enjoy Steve's videos, but for $1500 I may be able to make Diamond status on my own on a good weekend..hehe That's pretty cool though!

Jennifer found that gem. She has a blog- my life on a shelf. It's interesting she travels the world on her own.
Reading the internet keeps me busy!

Easy to get free passes to G2e. Can't believe anyone would pay to walk around with steve and get a autograph coupon book but I guess there's one born every minute. Or are the donations for charity instead of to Steve? If for charity I take back what I said. :)

Not charity. It was to pay to set up an app to get the coupons that have been in the book. One coupon would cost .99 and some would be free. The app would only work on a I pad or I phone.
It was a thousand to get a one day pass and walk with Steve and Matt. Each day was available for a thousand. It was limited to one person a day. The autographed book was not included. It was all outrageous.
It closed and was not funded.

I saw the prices for the passes online and thought "Jesus h". If free passes are handed out... Why do they eve charge people.??

I'm glad to hear it was closed and not funded since it wasn't for charity. I totally agree it was outrageous.

My sister-in-law got this Founder's Card last month. She paid $295 for it and gets a 15% discount off of her ATT bill each month. Since she and my brother do not RV any more - she wanted a casino/hotel and really liked Horseshoe Bossier City when we took them over.

They are very low rollers - like $20-40 a day but like perks. She is loving the access to the diamond lounge, no resort fee, free drinks at the Steakhouse, and plus - she gets the $100 celebration dinner. Between the discount on ATT and the $100 celebration dinner - the card pretty much paid for itself.

I've had a Founders Card for several years now. For my purposes, the AT&T mobile discount alone pays for the annual fee. FC also offer lots of other discounts on travel, various hotels, and some other stuff. If anyone wants an invite link, PM me and I'll send you one.

So you are saying she really is Diamond with CET just for getting the card?

Yes - Diamond. She had to call several times to FC to expedite but when she went over to the casino - she told them she needed a new card and they gave her a diamond one. They waived the resort fees for her stay too.

I have considered getting the card since CET eliminated no resort fee for Platinum. But I have such a bad taste for CET right now that I am conflicted. I guess I should look at it again. I have never been Diamond, but I am a bit of a Perk Whore - HHH!

Exactly. I was Diamond for 5 years and I hated paying the resort fees in April. I haven't changed my gambling either, just didn't win enough to recycle enough to hit it last year and this year too.

Yes -- I usually spend about $0.35 a year at CET properties, but still get full Diamond perks with the Founders Card benefit. So considering how CET slots pay back, it's a real savings! :)

I stayed at the Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace last fall using the FC discount, just to check out the rooms (with the discount, it was less than $150 the night I went). They waived the resort fee, gave me a discount at the Nobu restaurant, and left a monster amenity gift box full of snacks for me. I also like being able to go to the CET Diamond lounges for a glass of Champagne when I need a change of scene and don't feel like dumping more $ in the slots. And I get a line pass for buffets, etc., and free show tix every month, though I still haven't bothered to go to one.

I've also used Founders Card discounts to stay at Mandarin Oriental and Cosmo when I wanted a fancy hotel experience but didn't want to deal with chasing comps. I swear it saved me money -- those comps are expensive. ;) Anyway, like I said, PM me if you're thinking of applying anyway, and I'll give you a FC invite code.

EDIT: My FC account for new member invites says it's "an annual rate of $395 (vs. our standard rate of $795)." I definitely wouldn't pay that standard rate! sassycat, does your SIL have a lower rate she can share?

She said that when she called they told her $395 with $100 gift card from American Express back and I think she said she would prefer to skip the American Express gift card = that's why it was $295.

How did you like the Nobu Hotel? I'm so curious.

Nobu room was very comfortable with lots of carefully thought out details, and lovely amenities. (I'll post some in the Super Sparkly VIP section, if I ever find the time.) But it was also very dark, with not much of a view -- just a tiny slice of the Eiffel Tower. And that was a "premium view" upper floor room!

I guess that's one of the unfixable problems you get when you renovate an older structure. Really nice lipstick, but it's still a pig.

I have been reconsidering the Founders card. Unless I am reading something wrong, it looks like mosaic status with JetBlue gives you free changes & cancellations which for a flake like me is worth something. Plus 2 free bags, which is something now that they charge for even the first one.

JetBlue change and cancellation fees will be waived for Mosaic members and others on their itinerary.1

Combined with the Diamond status which can be matched by certain casinos (Borgata for one) it might be worth $300.

I just got my Founderscard approved and am anxiously waiting for my Diamond card update. It's good for me as I use CET properties quite a bit when travelling and I always stay at both CET and Borgata when I go to AC . Takes a few weeks to see the upgrade so am not sure I can get it for the August trip, but have another road trip planned in Sept. for the Smokey Mountains via AC to Cherokee and those upgrades will come in handy. Does anyone know if diamond status gets you comped weekend rooms?

Room comps are generally based on play and not necessarily Diamond status. I get comped rooms on weekends but in Vegas and AC it's hit or miss and I'm highest level Diamond(about 30k from 7*). The only way I get comped weekends in vegas now is using a host to book the room.

My sister-in-law does not get comped weekend rooms. Her play does not warrant it.
It's hard to get a room period at Cherokee. I have heard that they might get you a comped room at a neighboring hotel.

Thanks for the info. I guess I play enough to get comped weekday rooms at all CET properties and Borgata but will probably never be enough of a player to hook up for the weekends. I'll use this card for a year and see if it was worth it...there's also a UPS discount that is good for my business shipping from Indonesia, will see about the other perks.

I just checked on the FC website where they show the preview of benefits for new members and this is what it said about Diamond Status:

Please allow up to six weeks for upgrade. Upon being upgraded, your status is valid through March 31, 2016.
Must be 21+ to redeem this benefit.
* Where available. Fees or other restrictions may apply. Please see Total Rewards Center for complete details.
** Cash/Credit purchases only. Some items may be excluded from this discount. Please see Total Rewards Center or retail outlet for any restrictions.

Okay, I went for this and joined for 2 years. Unfortunately as we know my luck hasn't been the best the last couple years so I hope my joining doesn't mean they don't renew the CET Diamond perk for 2016, LMAO!

My trips are all planned for the rest of 2015 and I don't have CET on my radar for those trips. I think I will wait and hopefully join early next year. But only if they don't eliminate Diamond as a perk!

Me too, if they extend I'll do it otherwise not. Mostly because it's an automatic renewal and too close to the end of the year.

Makes sense to wait and I agree likely not worth it for most unless they renew that Diamond perk though there are other great hotel opportunities via FC for those who pay for rooms outside of Vegas or people who don't use comp offers there. There were some other perks through FC I wanted but as far as CET goes I figured the 2 free show tickets a month would make it worth it to me since I'm there so often and if nothing else I can get tickets to the High Roller and give them out to friends each month, LOL!

I've only stayed at one CET Vegas property and that was last year the one night at Paris when Ken was staying there during the April Meet. This year I'm going to brave a Augustus tower room in October and then for a night in December too before moving to Aria for NYE. I'm hoping they renew the Diamond perk next year so I'll have it for Lake Tahoe, <crossing fingers>.
