One week from today I'll be in VEGAS!!!!! Since I'm staying at the Venetian and want to earn enough points to stay on their radar I need advise from all you Venetian/Palazzo peeps, treyster, Nhcris, dvandentop and any others that have experience with Venetian/Palazzo.

What are the best machines for churning the points?
Which have been favorable in the HL room?
How is the VP and where are the best machines located?
What do they consider a day of play, set hours or 24 hours from when you place your card in?
Do charges to the room add extra points?
Anything else to consider?

What are the best machines for churning the points? That's a crap shoot. I used to play a few of the Aruze games (Aladdin & D'Artanian for instance) at max bet of $1.50 and get a ton of play, but if there are any of those left they are in rough shape. I got good play on Buffalo in both Venetian and Palazzo last trip. Outback Jack (in the Palazzo) can be a good churner if it cooperates.

Which have been favorable in the HL room? I'm a chicken shit so can't answer this.

How is the VP and where are the best machines located? VP is pretty poor. Best I have found is 8/5 DDB at the Champagne Bar in Palazzo, but not sure how long ago. Mauretania plays dollars &/or multi play, and has a couple of machines she likes, not to mention a much better memory than I have. Hopefully she can chime in here. Video Poker points add up much slower than slots. Grazie does not seem to be a fan of vp players.

What do they consider a day of play, set hours or 24 hours from when you place your card in? I forget

Do charges to the room add extra points? Yes, and they add up fast!

Anything else to consider?

Check at the Grazie desk for promotions. IF they are doing the daily slot tournament ((need to earn a certain amount of points and can get multiple (3?) daily entries)) it is fun and possible to earn a bit of free play.

Take time to enjoy the resort! Visit St Mark's Square for a meal or a cocktail & enjoy the entertainment.

Grimaldi's Pizza above the palazzo casino) is really good.

Use the cocktail ordering system in Palazzo. You can get decent cocktails (I like the lemontini) pretty quickly there.

Unless you like a longer walk to your room, don't stay in the Venezia Tower.

HAVE A BLAST!!

Good info from Nhcris. Somewhere in this TR I documented how the V/P system works.

If you're purple card, you'll get approx 1pt per $1 coin-in depending on machine. I played a lot of OBJ last visit.

Do charge everything to your room, you get 5x pts for purple. Can't charge Grimaldi to room though.

If you aim for 2500 slot points per day I'd guess you'll get 3 nt comp offers. That's about our average.

You make gold if you hit 20K points in a year and that includes points from room price and charges. You then get into gold lounge at V.

Try $1 Davinci or $1 Sun Moon in HL room.

Good luck Darlene

OBJ will usually let you play a while. Mono poly jackpot station kept me playing a long time.
At Venetian I played a long time on Lotus Land and fortune ruler. Both volitile machines though. Also rapunzel.

Also churned nice coin-in on the GF2 at V near the Grazie desk.

Thank you for this thread, Darlene and everyone that provided info. I was wondering how all this worked. I'm close to making gold. I charged everything to the room and gave them more money than I should have this past trip. Hopefully I can stay there again for Halloween and rack up more points.
