I noticed that Vegas low roller and shinobi slots had some competition playing the same slots to see who has a better playback. It seems like shinobi slots has quite the lead. I think that although the locals may be able to double the buy in more often that not. It seems like vlr has gotten larger payouts on minimum bet then shinobi and makes up for the less frequent hits. What are everyone's opinion regarding this?

MHO is .. if he was playing in a MI NA casino he'd be losing every time.

There are tight locals and there are loose locals. Most of them here in the Midwest are set at an average of 92% which is pretty good. Some NA casinos are set at 85% which is pretty tight and you will notice the difference, even in the short term.

IDK about that Gene. Been keeping track on all .01-$10 slots at the SE, and I'm coming up with a 30-40% figure. :frusty:

Was told, but IDK if it's true that the MI NA casinos don't have to do a damn thing that's in their compacts anymore except the ones with their first compact.

My local NA is posted at 92.7 but that's a little misleading because they don't actually have to be checked, to my knowledge.

I went to win star in Oklahoma just to see if I could see a difference. Quite honestly I couldn't really tell a difference. They have so many slots there and it was difficult to gauge if Vegas is better or locals are better. At the end of the day it's a gamble and at both places the slots take your money. Lol.

"take your money". True, but under controlled NA casinos can take it a LOT faster.:mad-new:

I still think that the Las Vegas locals have the best paybacks outside of the Reno area, they used to have the best in the entire USA a few years ago.
I also think the Las Vegas strip is still the worst of anywhere now, used to be better years ago.

The local NA casinos are in between, at least in my area. I have gone to them enough that I see the PAR sheets taped to the new machines when they are being installed. The PAR sheets actually have written in the payback % they are set at. At most of my locals the 1 cent and 2 cent games are either set at 90.05%, 90.60% or 91.01%. For some reason I see them at one of these three numbers- they set their dollar games at 93.07%- see it written every time. Harrah's may be the exception- they say they have an overall payback of 93% on all games, but when they have new slots I never see their paybacks written in on their PAR sheets- always blank, though I did see a tech working on a WW2 game once, and it showed it was set to a measly 86.7%- had four payback options, they chose the lowest.

Interesting topic. I play very differently at my local v Las Vegas. Honestly I think the pennies have horrible paybacks on the strip.

The one local in my area that has been good for penny players lately is Cache Creek but I think they adjusted paybacks to compete with the other locals.

Mighty lucky you get to see those kdk. When installing or 'maintaining' machines at the SE they are safety taped off, so you can't get anywhere near 'em while they're open.:subdued:

Clemi, my experiences are the opposite. Foxwoods slots are so tight, I get no play on pennies. I play for hours in Vegas. I still lose in both places. Lol!

Ditto Kimsa70. At any of my locals I feel like I get more play on pennies in Vegas. Here I can lose $500 in 1 hour or so. In Vegas it takes me at least 3. More times than not. Unless I'm having an absolutely horrible luck.

It does not matter where you go. It is all about timing and being on the right slot at the right time or on tables, all about skill and decisions you make. I do not notice a difference wherever I go (vegas or locals). I observe myself and I observe others around that are playing when I am walking around to see how machines are paying for others. For progressive slots, same thing, but takes a little thinking depending on what the jackpots are at. Sometimes they can hit back to back, sometimes they can get really high before they hit Ones that have the jackpots where it says hits by 5000, 500, 100, or whatever it may say, it could hit at the last dollar before it automatically hits (ex. 1000 could hit at 999) or it could hit at its start or in between. It is all timing and being at the right place at the right time. I do not see a difference between casinos. All slots hit at different times of the days.

Like in you guys AC meet n greet trip, most of you had a winning trip playing smart and being on the right slot at the right time especially Ken and the last time you guys went was not as good from what I remember.

yep same here usually can loose real quick on alot of machines at a local where vegas seem to get better wins over the course of that $ to keep on playin

I manage to lose $$$ on both pennies and higher denominations They don't discriminate against me.

I plan to play only old machines when in Vegas at the end of the month nickel and quarter denominations and see if the play gets extended. The new penny slots have been brutal for me.

My strategy was every time I got a few hundies I threw them in the safe and never looked back! You are right though, timing is everything!
