We are going to Vegas in May and are booked for the first 3 nights at Planet Hollywood. We have not stayed there since 2008 and they were still independent. We have been 100% MLife in Vegas for the past 6 years and decided after the KC M&G to see what TR can do for us. Has anyone stayed there recently and how was it? I honestly was hoping to stay at CP, but they are requiring a stay of the night before for a reservation and I do not think I could handle more than the already booked 6 nights. Thanks in advance for your input!

I stayed there in October, I thought the rooms were nice and comfortable but not fancy. I didn't have any issues but I do remember some friends that were there at the same time that complained about the noise from the club. If that would bother you, I would probably just ask them about it when you check in. I didn't win but hell I couldn't win anywhere on that trip lol. I did like the convenience of having Earl of Sandwich open 24 hours for the late night snack.

Good luck on your trip

Thanks, GG! Noise is not an issue because I wear earplugs in Vegas since I am a light sleeper. I do not have to have the fanciest room. Just clean and free! HHH. And Earl is one of the greatest establishments ever!

If you sign up for Earls emails, you can get a free sandwich but don't sign up until it gets closer to your trip so it doesn't expire before you go. I'm using my coupon this Weds when I get there And you can also use your Reward Credits to pay for sandwich in case you didn't know.

Wow, I haven't stayed there since it was the Aladdin. I recall thin-ish walls, but that's about all I remember. Though I do stop by the PHo casino fairly frequently, because it's right across the street from where I usually am. Also, their Diamond Lounge is way less hectic than CP's. Also, Earl of Sandwich! YUMMMMM!

One thing I will say is that the street musicians who play right outside PHo on the Strip are super loud, and play until super late. It's not the amplified bands so much as the guys who play plastic tubs as percussion. When I've had stripside rooms in Cosmo's East Tower, I've had issues with this keeping me awake, even with earplugs.

Thanks, boots. The reservation is for a fountain view, so maybe setlle for a view of the Thomas & Mack center instead!

I like staying there. Good game selection and the big mall attached with an ABC store right outside the casino entrance to the mall for reasonably priced drinks or snacks for the room.
Also if you like margaritas they have these yummy margaronas at Yolo's restaurant in the casino!

I stayed there in October as well, the casino gets loud in the evenings. Our room was a basic fountain view (Hollywood hip I think) and it was comfortable. Enjoyed the location and atmosphere during the day, but at night turned into the 'oontz oontz oontz' music. Gambling wise did not do well at all. Earl of Sandwich is nice and easily accessible. Had dinner at BurGR and that was fine too. I would stay again just for the location.

Stayed there in 2012 and 2013 for my kid's 21st BD celebrations. I liked it there but we had some issues in 2012. In 2013 we had a suite and had no problems at all and overall I'd recommend staying there. WRT the problem in 2012 my son's friend left money in his room (not in a safe but on a chair lol) and it was stolen. Not sure what really happened but of course you know never to leave money out for the take ;)

HHH, my son's friend left ~$200 on a chair in the room... so lame but what can you say to a 21 yr old who is visiting Vegas for the first time! We spent hours tearing apart the room to no avail.. the money was obviously gone. In the end he filed a hotel report that of course went nowhere, not meaning to dig on PH as we'll never know what happened. Suffice it to say I think the kids learned a hard lesson on leaving money in a room.

And I so hope to get to meet MCP and Chris one day. They seem like great guys. And it is so great to see you and your children have a great time together. Thanks again for sharing this!

Should be a good time rooms look pretty good. Casino is usually a good time and lots of action going on at all times in there. As others said one good bonus is lots of eating real close and also the ABC store right by earls to get some cheap drinks before hitting the slot floor

Earls service was really slow. Put my sand order in. Waited and waited. Saw others that had put orders in after me getting their meals. Turns out they passed over my order. (On computer screen????) Another time I ordered sand and salad. Looked at order as they gave to me. Salad had strawberries on it. I ordered BBQ chicken salad. I told th counter girl this is wrong salad. She insisted it was right. I said this salad has strawberries on it. She said it's supposed to. Almost left with order. Re looked at salad and menu. Wrong salad. Pressured her again. She rolled her eyes. Took closer look and relized she was wrong. No apologies. Got new salad.
Late night at PH seemed sketchy to me. A lot of weirdos coming off the strip into casino. Money beggars etc. Too close to strip maybe. They can pop in and out.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. For some reason while I am in Vegas my body likes to think I am still on the east coast, so we are typically back at our home base before it gets too late. Hell, I am in bed by midnight on some nights! Even though I am a big guy, I still do not get out on the strip and walk late at night. Too many characters out there that make you feel uneasy. I will take the tram from Bellagio to Aria fairly late, but have never felt uncomfortable. I want to hit a lot of CET properties since it has been several years, but that will be done during the day/early evening.

TwoArmedBandito, that is messed up with your experience at the Earl. Luckily I have never experienced anything like that on any of my visits. I know the place is crazy busy because everyone seems to need to get their fix while in Vegas. But I am like you, I would not let it go until the issue was resolved.

As far as buffets go, PH has a good one.
Also caters to a younger and noisier clientele than the other CET Vegas properties, so prepare yourself for a lively casino floor. :)

Thanks, GG. I am an old fogey, but still enjoy a lively casino! I even get perturbed when I cannot hear the music in a casino, but as I recall the last few times I played there that was a non-issue. Hell, I may even break out into a song thinking I am Pitbull or Katy Perry!

The other good thing about PHo, location-wise: There's a Deuce stop right out front, so you can just hop on and go up the Strip. Coming back, you get off right in front of Cosmo and take the pedestrian bridge over. Super convenient!

Well the plans have changed. I must be living right because Caesars Palace finally opened up to where they are not requiring the Friday night stay to book. We have wanted to stay at Caesars, but just never have. Since we have stayed at Planet Hollywood before, and even Paris, we were truly wanting to stay somewhere new to us. So now it looks like it is going to happen. We booked the Forum Tower King. While I realize that we have given up our fountain view room and with the Forum Tower only giving us an option of a view of one of the other towers, who cares! I am sure most of you have stayed at CP so it is nothing new to you, but I have been intrigued by the pics of the room.

Thanks for the suggestion, Suze! The description sounds like it is a good show and the prices are pretty dang cheap too. We can lose more than that in 75 minutes in a casino. After we get our Jeff Dunham tickets we will still have some credit left on the Vegas.com gift card to use. But I will get tickets in the back because I will not be put on stage! HHH

Good choice on switching to CP. Forum tower rooms are decent (and actually in my opinion, have the best location as it's the tower closest to the casino, HHH). However when you check in you may want to try the $20 trick and see if you can get upgraded into Augustus with fountain view. Would be *really* nice for your first time there!!

I know whenever I get comped there, my comped room is usually a Forum Tower room, but then because I'm a diamond, they always put me in either Augustus or Octavius. So the $20 trick may yield similar results.

Thanks, Blasé! I have seen the other tower rooms and they do look so, so nice. We are lowly Gold (only 3,142 TCs in KC) and are somewhat CET virgins in Vegas. Really only get offers due to one or two overnight stays each year at Cherokee. I can see it now when we ask for an upgrade. The check-in would say "Put that $20 away and get your penny-ass playing selves out of my face!" HHH

I don't know about that one time we went there and where staying in augustus tower but the first night they wanted to put us in another tower and I told the guy at the desk I'm not haulin my shit across this place twice so I pulled out a $20 and said find me a room in the augustus tower so he did but really stressed I had to change rooms the next day and I told him no problem then I found out why we got a corner suite over looking the fountains.

Good to hear that you scored a room at Caesars. The casino is kind of big and kind of hard to find your way around in but its great you get to try something new. One thing Sassy and I always do when we stay at Caesars is the Qua Spa. The price you will have to pay to get in is well worth it. They have several varying degree temperature baths and saunas and you could easily spend several hours there as it is very relaxing.
