View Full Version : CET Treating Us Well....

Some may remember than in July we did 2 1000 tier credit days and 1 2500 tier credit days at the Cleveland Horseshoe. This was spread over 4 weeks. Did this to earn Diamond at lowest cost and then to see if we enjoyed that status enough to do so in future years.

During that 4 weeks received $650 in Return Rewards free play plus some weekly free play. This amounted to about 25% of our theoretical loss. We did not play at all in August. For September we are receiving $95 per week in free play and the October offer starts at $120 for each Friday and there will most likely be an additional $50 per week as normal free play. So far in September we have gone to Cleveland once on overnight and scheduled for this Wednesday overnight. On our overnight we earned 52 tier credits. On top of the free play we now have free rooms at Ritz Carlton on any night rest of 2015 plus lots of free rooms around the country.

Scored a host at Planet Hollywood in LV and she has already saved us some cash on room this March in LV.

Today we received call from VIP Services in Cleveland asking if we needed anything for our trip this coming Wednesday.

Not sure what more they can do for us. Our play history is visible and they certainly know that the 4 weeks in July was many miles above our normal play (usually 200 tier credits per day max.) Will say that competition is high here in NE Ohio with 1 casino and 3 racinos within 60 miles of each other plus PA and WV near by.

Just thought I would post our experience with CET.

This is good to read. Each year we have given CET a little play, but never got past Gold. Really never above 3k tiers in any given year. After the M&G in KC and then a trip to our local earlier this year, we decided to shoot for Diamond to see what perks come with it. We have not truly taken advantage of them yet, but figure we have all of the upcoming year to do so. Already planning to repeat next year.
I hope in the upcoming year that we get to sit down in a Diamond Lounge with the Penguins and a whole bunch of Jokers!

I just recently bought my Diamond status via the Founders Card and it was money well spent. We love usage of the lounges, and was able to raise my status at Borgata with it so a double win for AC trips. We frequently use CET properties around the country so will get a lot of mileage from it. And not waiting in lines is great. Because I didn't earn it the hard way, my FP offers aren't any big deal, but that's ok...they are getting better as I frequent more CET casinos. Definately pleased with it.

I did the same via the Founders card. I'm not sure why since I hardly ever stay at CET properties. However I made Platinum in one trip during Lake Tahoe so my offers have been very nice from them the last 8 weeks. I'm going to try a room out in the Augustus Towers at CP before the end of the year and see what I think. It would be ironic though if I stay there and end up making Diamond via my gambling too, LOL!

Yup, CET properties LOVE it when you hit 1,000 TR points in a single day and treat you VERY generously!

When it happened to me at Harrahs in Kansas City, they offered $250.00 FP and $200 travel cash
When it happened at Horseshoe in Bosier City, they offered $200 FP and $200 travel cash
When it happened at Horseshoe in Hammond, they offered $350 FP and $250 travel cash
All those offers came with 2 nights comped along with $50 F&B also. :)

I LOVE CET!!!:clap2:

I wonder what Harrah's in AC gives you when you hit 1,000 in a day? I feel like the AC casinos aren't as generous. So if you hit 1,000 tier in a day, they give you another 1,000 as a bonus?

Who many tier do you need to get Diamond?

The other bonuses they offer are that if you hit 500 in a day, they give you and extra 250. The big one is if you make 2500 in a day, they give you a bonus of 5000, for a total of 7500 TC for that day. That's how we wrapped up diamond.

We had done a 1000 TC day at Harrah's AC in 2014 (to maintain our Platinum status) and got the bonus 1000. While we didn't get any big free play offers that I remember, we got more and better free room offers. Before that, we had not been able to get any free rooms at Caesar's, but after that, we got free ocean view rooms several times.

Yes we got the bonus in AC. I think their offers are as good as other properties for us. We haven't been back there for 2 years but still receive freeplay and other offers from them regularly.
And Borgata matches Diamond to the Black card if you ever go back there. Just get the freeplay ($100) once

No problem Ang. It was after a Joker shared their actual costs with us that we decided to try this.

First 1000 TC cost us $761.
Second 1000 TC cost us $858
The 2500 TC day cost us $2504.

Total cost was $4123 for this experiment minus the $650 of immediate FP we recouped. Overall cost was 34 cents per TC including bonus. Also we have received higher FP offers since then. It should be also noted that the Cleveland Horseshoe really only has the Ritz and FP to offer for incentive. No free drinks and no dining other than food court and buffet. Diamond dinner here is 4 buffet meals. Obviously we will go somewhere else. Also noted was that we only needed 11,500 TC at the time to reach Diamond and decided to do it to enjoy rest of 2015.

The slots we played were White Hot Sevens, QH 5 cent 9 line, QH 25 cent 5 line, Wild Red Sevens, Bonus Times, Haywire, and a couple other reel machines. No penny machines. For us this was mostly an endurance contest. About 8 hours for the 2500 TC. We were in good shape on the 2500TC day at the half way point and then went really cold and doubled our cost for last 1200 TCs. Luck ran out, but we had crossed point of no return and you never know when luck will return. White Hot Sevens was a dollar machine played at $2 per spin. The highest hit we had was $300 line hit on White Hot Sevens.

Financially is this worth it? Tough to say, but definitely a "feel good" thing. Being able to sit and relax in a Diamond Lounge is worth something. Rooms anytime we want. Also, fair to say we get treated better in Cleveland and AC than we do in Vegas.

Any other questions just ask. The more info we all have the better off we will all be.

Thank you all for your responses. Maybe I will try to make Diamond in 2016. I'll have my Chairmen club card at GN and if I can make Diamond I will finally be able to get a Black card at Borgata even if I didn't earn it there.

It seems like CET and GN earn their tier the same way and I've had six visits this year so far where I have earned over 1,000 tier, that would have gotten me to 12,000 tier alone, so I think I can do it and with the ability to stay at more casinos and how they offer airfare it may be my better gamble to take.

Thanks for that breakdown, i was curious about what it would take money wise to get to Diamond. I put in the time on the slots but I'm a low roller and knew I'd never accumulate enough points to make Diamond, so when I heard about the Founders Card offer I grabbed it. It ended up costing me $395 plus a one time entry fee of $95. I think we already matched that in food and drink via the Diamond lounge and Amphora while in AC last month!

Unfortunately, AC, Vegas, plus Reno/Tahoe, are all considered gambling destinations, None have been as generous to me as the the other CET properties here in the Midwest.

The most I get from AC and Vegas are $100 FP and $25 F&B plus 5 nights free stay.

See, the thing is, the local casinos are very happy when a customer comes in and might drop a couple hundred through their machines during two or three hours of play.

They are Thrilled if somebody comes in and plays 10-12 hours and ends up generating a thousand or more TR credits!

In AC, I am a minnow among all the whales, in the Midwest I am a bass among all the minnows. :)

I'm going to concentrate my play at Flamingo over Thanksgiving. Even in Vegas they seem to be throw you better offers at the property in which you play most. When I played at Paris I was getting better room offers from them than any other CET property out there. I paid Priceline at Venetian, so nothing to impress Venetian for. Gonna race for Platinum at the old pink bird! :bull_head:

I also guess it would make most sense to have one big day of play and go for the 1k points and have them match it. I need to do a Thanksgiving bender!

Ken,

In 2013 and 2014 we didn't have over 3500 TC that were earned through play at all CET casinos combined. Still had free rooms at the Pink Bird, Rio, and Harrahs for week days and maybe up to $85 for weekend night. So maybe you want to wait for AC for any 1000TC day as you are close there and would get Caesar rooms comped. Just wondering if you'd get more band for your buck closer to home.

Probably, as I think that ADT is attached to the property. It's something to consider. I'm basically halfway to Platinum, which really only gets you free parking in AC. Do I chase for Platinum or just get in a nice ADT day at Flamingo in hopes they will throw me a bone for GG's wedding trip in March? In AC I always have Borgata for mid-week nights, which I rarely can use anyway. I think I'll play it by ear and if I get murdered, no sense in continuing the murder just for free parking!

Penguin, I rarely play at CET places so I'm not sure of the lingo. You've mentioned Return Rewards FP and also immediate FP (I think they're the same thing) -- what does that mean? I think at CET, you can transfer RCs to be used as FP at a 50% discount (so 10,000 RCs would be $50 FP) -- am I correct? If so, is Return Rewards/immediate FP different from that conversion? Thanks!

Immediate Return Rewards is/was 100% Free Play but had to be used within 30 days. Not sure if other CET properties doing this but obviously idea is to keep us coming back ASAP. This is a relatively new program. Not sure if still being done. Cleveland also has weekly and daily free play on top of this. For instance we just got our October free play and it is $120 on Fridays and $65 on Monday through Thursday each week. We will go up on Thursday, grab a room at Ritz and then collect both Thursday and Friday for $185 total. Normally we walk away with 80% in cash. Yes you can use regular Reward Credits for free play at 50% discount. But we prefer to use them for meals in AC, Vegas, Laughlin at full value.

So, this October offer is based on the heavy (for us) play in that 4 week period (only 3 days so the ADT is high) in June-July. Since then only 1 day at $260 coin in. We'll see how long this goes. No doubt we'll do the bonus credit system at Cleveland next year because of the high FP they dole out.

Hmm, that's weird then! Thanks for the info. Maybe since the year is coming to a close they are giving people a boost. Whatever it did, it didn't change my room offers for March. Still $200+ for the Flamingo, no CET, just no! :numbness:

It's possible but I think they normally tell you and mine was not that much but took me to the next 500...They seem to do weird things, quite often when I look at my Diamond statement, for rewards use, there is like a small voided comp at the bottom, for like $2.00 never sure what that is about.

Uhh, is CET giving out free tier credits? I'm up 1k and haven't played. Or did I earn 1k and am being awarded the bonus? How long does the bonus take to post if so? Now I'd almost be silly to not go for 1k in Vegas if this is the case.

After seeing this I got excited. I was thinking maybe they gave us enough to make 7 Star, but I guess they want us to earn that 125k needed. [emoji20]

Do it do it! After hanging out in the 7 Stars lounge in AC with James and Sassy, I challenge all my friends to get it and take me with! :)

They are getting pretty generous. Horseshoe Hammond and Horseshoe Tunica both sent me offers for $400 FP and up to 5 nights comped!:loyal:

Both offers are only good until the end of the month..not much notice but maybe these next ten days are historically slow for them?:noidea:

I would go to Hammond for sure on you day off that's a awesome offer.

I would go to Hammond for sure on you day off that's a awesome offer. Well, we were scheduled for tomorrow...that was the day treyster wanted to have a M&G but unfortunately had to cancel.

It's still marked on my calendar and since I have no other plans, Sharon and I will probably do it Monday or Tuesday.

Tunica though is a 10 hour drive, so probably won't happen by the end of this month.

Yeah Tunica probably ain't doable on short notice Yeah, hate to waste that FP but maybe Council Bluffs will send me a nice offer.

Even though I didn't hit my normal 1,000 TR points in Council Bluffs, (got drunk and went broke at 900) it was enough that they assigned me a host already lol.

CET in the last 2 years has handed out Tier Credits to some in order to encourage them to play to next tier level. Generally happens in Sept. We sit at 15600 TC so I don't expect much if any as the next level would be 25000.

We did get our Oct weekly FP offer at $65 per week. So now on a combo Thur-Fri stay we can get $185 total every week in Oct. However VIP Host did look up our recent play as said the more generous FP would probably end in Nov. Okay with us. Right now we will probably grab $500 of the Oct FP for our pocket to offset the cost of making Diamond. Will be in AC early Oct and by end of Oct will be getting a bit tired of slots so may just make 1 or 2 day trips rest of year. Come next year we will start hitting a couple 1000TC days to get the good offers rolling and then just extend the high play days through out the year. For us gaming the system is just part of the equation in dealing with casinos. Might treat things a bit different in closer to AC and destination type venues.

That was actually last week Gene. If it was tomorrow I'd been good.

Check your texts. Hope you don't fly to Vegas a week late, you'd miss your own wedding.

CPT, there have been reports on VMB of TCs being added to accounts recently. I checked ... and with my 598 TCs for the year (ha), they didn't bother.

That makes sense then! There are probably spies here that saw me talking about doing a 1k in a day and figured they give me an extra boost and tempt me to do it..hehe They have nothing to lose and only gain from doing such a thing in my case.

I'm about 21k from it. I definitely don't see it happening though. Mainly since I'm kinda done with them for the most part. They may just get like 5% of my gambling budget now as opposed to 95%.

I'm sure they did! I usually delete most of them as they tell me how special I am and yet they want to charge me $200 a night on a Wednesday at the Flamingo. (I'm very bitter about this still..Haha!)

I'm going to give it all I got on Thanksgiving. If that still isn't enough, I'm staying at the Excalibur yo! :hopelessness:

There is always the Plaza downtown, last year I had an offer where I had to earn like 200pts and may stay was free...It was like $1 a pt so I had to put $200 thru to get may stay free....Took me less than an hour to get my two night stay comped.

The last I heard the Plaza was starting to get a "Smell" back to it, like it did prior to renovations. But I do like the Plaza! Meh CET will comp me at the Rio all nights, so I'd go there first. I'll have a host coming out to greet me by the time I'm done on Thanksgiving! I am on casino lent till Thanksgiving, I'm going to give er hell!

Well if noting else and I get some coupons for free nights you are welcome to one...Hopefully they send me a couple...

I did not notice the smell back...but their selection of games is sad...and not many....The places that smelled the worst to me were the Golden Gate before they remodeled, smelled like a old persons apartment and way before your time the Place that was mermaids used to smell like Urine...but they did have like 100 different beers for $1....
