First off, if this has been covered, my deepest apologies. Send me a link and I will study away. If not, share your tips on how to best make your bankroll last, please.

I'm heading back for my first casino visit next month after a one year hiatus and I don't have the funds like I did in the past. I basically have 4K for 4 days of play. I used to LOVE playing $5-$100 per spin pulls but can't swing that this trip. I want to play for longer periods instead of blowing my load in 15 minutes.

I also have $800 in freeplay which I will probably throw at the high limit reels (sticking to double coin $5 or $10 machines).

It's gonna be tough "low rolling"....especially after such a long time away from gaming! Any and all advice will be GREATLY appreciated!

My best ways to sustain bankroll is to divide and only bring down a certain amount each day. Keep the rest in the room or u will be tempted to blow it.

Also what has done good for me is to cash out after a good hit and keep titos til end of the night and cash em in. Put another $20 into machine after a good hit if ya want to keep playing that One.

I try to do that each trip but sometimes don't follow my own advice.

I've noticed though...you like to play $1 video reels with minimum bets starting at $9...do you play any other denominations? Do you think 1k a day is realistic playing $1 video reels or stick to pennies/nickels/quarters or low denomination mechanical reels? Damn...I do feel like a noob! Lol

LOL deff do not follow my play style although i do like to try to stick to around 1-2k a day in vegas.

stay away from video reels they are the devil no really stay away from them once you start playing them ya sorta get hooked and $ goes alot quicker.

maybe save 2-300 out of the day to play them if you really want to but be stern and stick to that budget for them.

see if you can find nickel or dime video reels they are fun as well and big wins can be had for $5 bets or so on em.

one last thing. try to break down $100s into 20 dollar bills then when you have to put more $ in it triggers my mind to say "do i really want to keep playing this one i havent won anything yet"

That $800 in freeplay is sure sweet. I think if it were me I would split my bankroll up into even amounts of $1000 per day and the freeplay if possible into $200 per day and play the freeplay first at $5 one coin at a time and see what happens. If you get smoothed and don't get much on the freeplay then maybe play defensively for the day. But is you are rewarded with some good hits on your freeplay then maybe continue to play at $5 a pull as long as your luck is holding up maybe even increase your bet a little. But if you lose your $1000 in any given day under no circumstances would I go to the ATM or to next days bankroll.

Every 30 minutes or so, force yourself to cash out and take a walk thru the casino or somewhere. It breaks the "trance' and allows you to regroup.

Since I always have a small bankroll, I also break any 100s into 20s. And I also try to put any tickets over say $60. away & try to not cash them out until I'm ready to leave. Of course that doesn't always happen, but I try! Good luck to you on the upcoming trip.

I alway's break my money down in 20's too that way I only put in a 20 if I put in 100 and am not paying attention it's gone.

That's a good idea treyster! I'm going to try that :) :)

Avoid bouncing from machine to machine feeding money into too many machines. Before you start a session decide on 3 machines to devote your time on. Consider it Plan A, Plan B, & Plan C. It doesn't matter what denom machine you choose as long as you only bounce between those machines considering someone will probably be hogging one or more of your choices. Last time I did this correctly I came home with a $3182 HP. Problem is to have the willpower to follow the plan.Being a sober slotter also helps with the willpower. HHH

"Here's an idea, why don't you give me half the money you were gonna bet, then we'll go out back, I'll kick ya in the nuts, and we'll call it a day?"

I started something new this year. $500. 00 for the day and 500.00 for the night. I play $1.00 VP at max = $5.00. If I get ahead, go to reels @ $10.00. Sometimes blazing sevens @ 3.00. If I am still ahead, will play video reels for the fun of bonus rounds.

If I am down, will play quarter VP or .50. Then go to safe and take out my 500.00 for the night.

My goal is to stay ahead and not hit up the safe.

The other thing I do is bring a "Do Not Touch" envelope. Usually 2000.00 and if I really bring it home, I consider the trip a win!

I, like everyone else break my $100's down. I think there is a reason when you go to a casino ATM or cash out a big TITO it gives you $100 bills- so you put them in the machine and lose them. I normally only put a $20 into a machine to see how it plays. If it doesn't do much I move on. The only exception is if i'm going to be betting $3 or more per spin, then I go with $40- most I ever bet is $5 but more like $1 is common for me. $300-$400 usually lasts me about 5-6 hours this way, unless things go really bad.
I found if I put in a $100 bill, or even feed it more 20's if it's not hitting right away, it doesn't do any better after- and almost always plays worse on the second $20 or more. My big wins and jackpots have all come from either a big hit right away- or I get some decent hits that build up that $20 into a lot more- then I keep on playing it and cycling that money until I get my big hit.

I recently had $1000 in freeplay at one of my locals, won a drawing. I played it all in the high limit room- video slots and $5 reels, betting either $5 per spin or $9 per spin. It was gone in 20 minutes. Now I did turn it into $1000 cash, but made me realize how quickly a bankroll can go on video reels in higher denominations.

Good luck!

Congrats on the drawing win, that was a nice one!

I like the idea of a 'Do Not Touch' envelope. My problem would be at night after a dozen or more drinks, I'd touch it and wake up the next day and have no clue where it went! HHH!
