Max bet pennies versus.....

In anticipation of my limited bank roll I was wondering from those in the "know"...

Is it better to max bet pennies or minimum bet nickels/dimes/quarters OR $1 mechanical reels (2-3 coin)?

Again, as I said in my other "low rolling" post question, deepest apologies if this subject has already been covered.

When I used to bet like a rockstar and my wife was minimum betting beside me, typically her damn bonuses would have a HIGHER PAYOUT!!! Which is why I am considering changing denomination and just lowering the number of credits I'm betting. Been a long time...I wanna play for 72 hours or so STRAIGHT! Bring on the red bull and vodkas! Haha!

i would rather bet nickel at min bet if same game is available in that it seems like the pennys just do not like to put out as much at max bet. this is for the newer machines. for the most part.

You know, at the chance I may sound like a stalker, I literally *just* got done re-reading your New Orleans trip report from last year (partially because of your reemergence on the board, and partially because I am really missing NO - I was there a year ago at this time). And you mentioned a few times this very thing - that Val would be betting minimum and win over $100 but you'd be betting max and get a zero bonus!

Personally, for as much as I love max betting penny machines, I just feel recently that the machines are tighter at max. You'd think it should be the opposite, but I see many more bonus symbols and wilds come up on the reels when betting 1x or 2x.

Now having said that, there are some machines at my locals that I always max bet... because I know they pay well when getting a bonus. But if it's some stupid WMS crap, I might just try a few spins at max to see if I get lucky and hit a bonus right away, then switch to minimum or just move on.

It's a lot harder to have that discipline when drinking, though!!

One more thing... if I can find old Aristocrats at nickel denom, I will always play those over pennies in the same title. But I hate the 9 line ones, they have to be at least 15 for me to really consider. I'll then do 15 x 1 or 15 x 2.

Glad to see you back Pawn! I would min bet nickles. For same amount. Seems like better payouts.

If you stick a hundred in a penny machine and bet 50 cents a spin, you will have a minimum of 200 spins to get a Big Win.

If you stick that same hundred in and bet $2 a spin, you only have minimum of 50 spins to get a Big Win..but that win should be bigger.

It's all a crap shoot though, there is no good system that works for me, just have to be on the right machine at the right time. :)

I agree with Blase. Whenever I bet max on the penny machines, I never hit anything big. I seem to get the most play and biggest wins at 2 or 3x minimum bet. But of course I don't go anywhere except the closest "real" casinos, which are 1 1/2 hrs from me & are native american.

Agree. Saturday morning I put $760 through Walking Dead max betting at $3.00 a spin. I got ZERO bonuses! And the fat guy sitting next to me betting $.75 cents a spin got a bit over $300 in the bonus. It's all a crap shoot!

I'll max bet pennies every once in a while. However, I always look out for nickel denom and would rather play those. Pennies are generally set tighter than other denoms. If I'm sticking to $2-$3 a spin, I would play nickels and higher. Good luck!

Try some of those old 5 cent or 10 cent 9-line or 15-line games betting max coin, but only bet 5-lines. You will be surprised at some of the big hits you will get.

On the pennies, if you want a lot of play, try just betting 80 cents to $1.20 per spin. It's hard to do, but you have a BR to preserve!! I used to bet much like you did. Now I have to low roll if I go. I still HAVE to press that max button sometimes!:culpability:

OK let us locals know your secret. I can't seem to win a thing this year. Hubby does well but not me. :(
