It looks like my finagling has worked and I got the opportunity to spend a couple nights in Biloxi next month! Right now I booked a comped Harrah's room, and resort fee there is only $10 so that hardly pisses me off - HHH. I have a Beau Rivage offer, but I don't think it will cover the Saturday night, although it includes free play.

I was there once overnight on a road trip. We stayed at Beau and really liked it. I prefer not to spend the money for a night, but I am wondering what to expect at Harrah's. Can anyone compare Harrah's to another property so I can make an educated decision?

The rough plan is to arrive in Pensacola on Saturday at 2PM, grab the rental car and drive to Biloxi which should take around 2 hours I think. We will spend Sat & Sun in Biloxi, and Monday either go back to Biloxi for (almost) free, or find a hotel somewhere closer to the Aviation Museum. Then on Tuesday we will drive to Orlando for the rest of the week.

I want to explore a little, so for me, I'd like to know which casinos are most fun and are any of them unique in any way? For Old Fart, er, I mean, DH, is there anything cool for him to do in or close to Biloxi? He is a history buff, and really into ships & aircraft. We are planning to spend the Monday visiting the Pensacola Naval Aviation Museum. Has anyone been there that could give us an idea of how much time to allot to that?

Any restaurant or other recommendations would be appreciated. I am really looking forward to this as it's time to do something a little different!

I think Mimi is Biloxi professional. Spends a lot of time there (I think).

Harrah's Gulf Coast is very small compared to the Beau Rivage, but if you have a rental car to get around, it won't matter. I haven't been to that Harrah's in a long time, but they did have some good video poker at one time. The Hard Rock Casino is next to the Beau Rivage and is in walking distance. If you want to drive another hour and a half, you can go to Harrah's New Orleans. Pensacola is close to me but I haven't been to the Aviation Museum. When will you be in Biloxi?

I smell a mini meet!! HHH IP is my preferred casino in Biloxi. Decent comps and great slot selection. Also, Scarlet Pearl just opened recently and has a pretty cool putt-putt golf course there from what I've heard. When you're on I-10 headed to Orlando, don't forget to wave when you pass by exit 203!

calling Georgiagambler -this has your name all over it. Also @Michellelovesvegas was just in Biloxi. I have only stayed at the Beau Rivage.. so I can't offer you any advice except that the service and the hotel is great. You should call and talk to the players club and see if your offer will work for Saturday Night. It is about 90 minutes to New Orleans. There is a maritime museum in Biloxi https://www.maritimemuseum.org.

I have only stayed at the Beau Rivage, but have to say I absolutely loved it. Top notch service. It truly feels like you are at a smaller version of the Bellagio.
Almost forgot, the slot selection was fantastic!

We were at Harrah's in August. The room was clean and nice...nothing special. The casino is small and pretty tight when we were there. It was a quick overnight on way to Coushatta coming and going so we didn't get a chance to check anything else out. My friend goes all the time and stays at the Beau and loves it there. Imperial Palace is where another friend likes to stay and play.

Haha, all it took was a little encouragement and I have switched to the Beau. $89 for Saturday & comped Sun & Mon on the holiday weekend, so that worked out nicely :)

Mary, it will be Saturday, January 16. I would love to see you if it works for you!

We won't do NOLA, as I am one of the few people in the world that doesn't care for that city, but I will check out the Hard Rock for sure. I will definitely be looking for the best VP in Biloxi!

I have heard others mention IP and I think we passed it on our way into Biloxi from the west last time. I will put it on the list of places to check out along with the Scarlett Pearl. A little mini-golf might be a nice respite from the slot and something the old guy and I could enjoy together :)

Thanks so much! I sent DH the link to the museum and it looks like something he would enjoy for a couple hours. You convinced me to call MLife and I have changed my booking to Beau Rivage! I am already looking forward to it that much more :)

Our other trip was also a quick stop on a road trip and although we stayed at the Beau, I felt that I didn't see or do anything. Thank you for your comments! I have nixed the Harrah's plan, and I feel better. Who needs a small tight casino when the beautiful Beau is right up the street?

You will love the Beau! If you want to experience southern charm with a seafood menu, then eat at Mary Mahoneys. There is a bar called Adventures just a couple blocks away that has the best bloody marys! Also drive over the bridge to Oceans Springs. It's a quaint little artsy town with some good restaurants. Drive down Hwy 90 towards Gulfport and check out the sculptures that have been carved out of trees lost during Katrina.

I live in Pensacola and work on the Naval Air Station so have been to the museum many times. You can actually spend the entire day there if you want to see everything. They have guided tours throughout the day plus a tour of the flight line behind the museum. They also have an IMAX theater but I think it's closing sometime in Jan for renovations. You can also visit the lighthouse across from the museum. It's not free but it's pretty cool. And there's also Fort Barrancas which is about half a mile east of the museum which is free to tour as well. They also offer guided tours. As far as Biloxi goes the Beau is nice but also the most crowded. I like the Golden Nugget and if your not smokers the Palace Casino (not the IP) is completely smoke free. If your into table games almost all of Treasure Bay's table limits start at $2. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Stay away from those DAMN BABIES at the Beau, they took my last dollar on the way to Coushatta in November. I found the Beau to be tight so watch your BR closely. Since your going to have a car drive around, I love walking the beach and also seeing the trees in the median that Katrina damaged and local artists carved into sculptures. Since your going to be in Orlando, any plans to visit Tampa Hard Rock? If so let me know and I'll break my ban and meet you there :greedy_dollars::encouragement:

Mary Mahoney's is an institution specializing in local Gulf Coast seafood. The seafood dishes shine but the sides are average (IMO).
I would go again just because I love the seafood and the quaintness of the building.

I can't comment on the rest of Biloxi as we didn't venture far from the BR. I did get my only video slot hand pay there on WOZ!

We stayed at the Beau one night. GN 3 nights. The Beau did give me some play, think I gave it all back though. Paytables on VP were terrible! The payables at the GN bars were good 9/6. Scarlett Pearl was really nice, due to being new. They are heavy into Aristrocrat. Played Gold Pays, Lighting Link, and a new one with the wheel. Played VP in the HL room on my matched FP. Each day, came back a winner from there.

Hopefully the weather will be nice for you. It was super windy while we were there and cold.

Great suggestions Mimi! I think Frank would really enjoy Ocean Springs and I definitely want to see the Katrina tree sculptures. I might just venture out for a Bloody Mary although I am still acquiring a taste for them. Maybe this will do it - HHH>

Clearly we MUST try Mary Mahoneys! Rarely does a restaurant get that many mentions so I know it has to be fabulous. I looked at the menu and the local flavors look amazing. Yummy!

Thank you so much JerricaKimber! I shared this with my husband and now he is planning a full day at the Aviation Museum. I think he will spend Saturday night there and join me in Biloxi Sunday after he has explored every nook & cranny of the place. I would get bored and whiny after a couple of hours, so this will work out better. I will explore the Biloxi casinos that day without him tagging along whining. It's a Win - Win!

Thanks for the warning Darlene, I 'think' I have learned my lesson regarding the babies. But then, maybe not - HHH. We will definitely check out the Katrina trees. That sounds really cool! I don't think I will make it to Hard Rock this time as my Texas son will be meeting us in Orlando, and I will want to spend every minute with him even though he thinks gambling is not a good use of time or money, the little shit. I am looking at a cruise out of Tampa in the spring though, so if that works out hopefully we can meet up then for a good gamble at the HR!

Thanks Michele! Bummed to hear the vp at the Beau sucks. I was hoping to just relax at the bar for awhile. I definitely want to check out the Scarlett Pearl. I plan to bring a couple offers with me just in case they extend their matching thing. I expect it will be chilly, but hopefully warm enough to brave a walk on the beach. Your trip sounded like lots of fun, and coming home with money is always a win in my book!

Family time definitely trumps casino time. If the spring trip works out, we'll plan to meet and take no prisoners or should I say leave no cash behind.

I got an offer from the Beau for a trip end of February mid week out of MSP or weekend Thursday to Sunday out of Rochester MN. Can't go as we will be in Gulf Shores for our beach rental.. but it was tempting. I hope you and Amy check it out.. and other Jokers enjoy it as much as I have in the past.

I'd break my ban for the Tampa H.R. as well. It's only 15 min. from where I live, but I haven't been since I blew my bankroll in record time there in Sept. and swore I wouldn't go back for six months. Plus, I got an offer from them for seems like every day between now and March -- nothing great, but enough to pay for an hour of play.
