2016 Trip Planning

Too many trips - not enough money. I was looking at my upcoming schedule and I think I need to win the lottery.

January - Biloxi
February - Vegas for sure and possibly New Orleans
March - San Diego
April - my cruise if I actually book it...
July - AC meet & greet if airfare cooperates

All of the travel part of the trips is free - transportation, hotel, and food but I still need money to gamble with. Oh and no free airfare for AC.

The bad part is there are still so many other places I want or plan to go to this year. Money isn't the only pain point but I have to worry about getting my damn homework done early before I can enjoy my trips...


Anyone else have trips you are excited for and planning for 2016? I know all are excited for the upcoming KC meet & greet.

I'm sure I'll spend a few nights at Harrah's Cherokee ever few months. I also get MLife junket offers for Beau Rivage that include very generous FreePlay so I'm thinking about changing one of my Vegas trip to Biloxi.

This year I do not have any gambling trips planned. I am sure something will come up but for now I have other vacations coming up.

May - Wedding in Missouri

October - possibly Hawaii for a work trip with DH.

Depending on when Tahoe M&G is.. I might have convinced DH to go.

I would love to work in Biloxi and Vegas. Vegas won't be until the fall - but hopefully I get an offer for flight and hotel to Biloxi in April or May.

Was going to Vegas for Superbowl and my birthday but changed it to May, too much homework and I want it to be warmer. Waiting for the Navy to decide if Chris will get a promotion in May. If he does, there is no telling where we will end up living. If he does retire in October, hopefully we can move back to Florida and I'll be going to Biloxi a lot.

BF has to use his 7 star trip before the end of March. We have never been to San Diego, thought it would be a fun way to use it. He is using his Diamond Aspiration trip to take me to see Mariah in Vegas in February- I'm so excited.

I will let you know once we book it and confirm dates to see if you will be around. I would love to meet you. I think we will rent a car so we can get out and about but we will only be there for a long weekend.

I'm a big Mariah fan, I was sad I missed her last year so no way I was going to miss it this time. I'm excited about San Diego too, I have been once but it was only a couple hours and no casinos involved. I will definitely keep you posted.

Heck yeah! I didn't put in my smaller casinos on the list. But Cherokee is so doable.

I'm about to start a job at a client for the next 3-6 months and I'll be able to take very limited time off.

I'm hoping to take a week in May and go somewhere with the BF -- maybe Vegas, maybe Europe (Ireland or Italy).

Maybe a day or two around the Fourth of July or another summer weekend and go upstate for a long weekend.

But ... I let two weeks of paid vacation vanish last fiscal year and I'm not letting that happen again. After the trips above (and Vegas/Arizona back in October), I'll still have more than two weeks to take before 9/30 so I'll take another vacation if I'm back from the client. If not Vegas in May, then definitely a Vegas trip :)

And probably some AC trips.

Have a great time at Disney World tomorrow. The only time we went most of our time was spent at Epcot Center. I am afraid to ask what a ticket cost there nowadays as it has been 15 to 20 years since we have been. I googled it and one place showed only $39 for a one day ticket. Surely a one day ticket to Disney World Epcot Center is more than that?

Have a great time at Disney World tomorrow. The only time we went most of our time was spent at Epcot Center. Yeah, $39 is not even close. It's over $100 for a single day pass now, and that doesn't include park hopping. We may not even do the parks. We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge with a savannah view, so we plan to just chill in the room watching the animals quite a bit. Wine and my kindle are all I will need - haha. We also have friends in the area, so will be doing some visiting. But plans have a way of changing, so we'll see.

goldengreeke Hopefully it is around your birthday. Last time it was around the 21st which is our son's birthday. He lives in Folsom Ca and we just couldn't justify being so close and not sharing his birthday (21st) his daughter's birthday (19th) and Father's day with him and our granddaughter's. But if you plan it closer to the 12th we might be able to make it as we drive across country and always stop in Tahoe!

We want to get back to Biloxi sometime on another junket but the dates they've thrown out haven't worked yet. We also want to try a weekend trip to Kansas City to check out the casinos there...and I'd like to be able to make a Joker Meet and Greet this year.

May -- Atlantic City maybe and Guam for 10 days or so. No casinos there.
June -- Tahoe and AC maybe
August -- Coushatta
Last four months will be couple trips to Atlantic City and/or Tunica.

Big problem we will be having is Cleveland Horseshoe will opt out of TR program and go into their own. Right now we will quit playing in Cleveland when they make the change mid year. All points earned up to then can count for CET. No CET local so have 7 hour car ride to AC. May start going to Meadows for recreational play, no serious gambling.

Wow - sounds like quite a few people has some fun trips planned - Vegas - Disney - Yeah!
i wish i had something fun to share...no Vegas trips for me planned - too many bills this year - we bought a house last year that needed some work, and have two big payments due in April-windows, and August - new siding - so major saving mode right now!!!

The only small trip we have planned is in February - spend one night at St. Louis Hollywood - comped of course - then on Sunday fly to Tampa. That night watch the St. Louis Blues play the Tampa Bay Lightning. Monday get up and fly back to St. Louis. Free flights on Southwest - yeah!

We did also put a deposit down on a trip in 2017 for Alaska! Going to spend 1 night on Katmai Island at Brooks lodge in July. This is during the salmon run and a lot of bears come to the Brooks falls area to eat up! This place only has 10 cabins and they fill up quick so we had to book very far in advance. So something to look forward too!

I know i need to do at least on Vegas trip to an Mlife property before October otherwise i think all my express comps will go bye bye. I am sure we will be able to sneak in a trip. I hope! That is it for me!

It mostly depends on how my 97 yr. old Mother is doing at that time Gene. Right now she's in a skilled nursing facility recuperating from a fractured hip that happened last month (on Dec. 7th -Pearl Harbor Day). She's been coming along very well so far and is expected to make a full recovery to where that she can move back into her own home (fingers crossed X).

So your Gulf Shores trip in in February...I thought it was coming up sooner!

We don't leave soon enough lol! We fly to San Diego next Friday. We stay overnight there and get on a 7 a.m. flight to Maui Saturday morning.

My Denver trip is a scheduled conference. I think it's April 17 - 19th or 20th. Is yours flexible?

Right now this is my current schedule for 2016. It's not much, but I know that will change as the year goes on.

Feb/March:
Short trip up to my local with my Aunt and Uncle (my casino buddies), Choctaw Grant, OK. We haven't decided just yet what weekend we are going up there.

June 24th - 30th:
Heading up to Colorado for a week to visit my sister. She turns 21 in March so we will finally get to gamble together this summer. We are going to Ameristar in Black Hawk for a night.

July 2nd - 4th:
As soon as I return to East Texas from Colorado I am heading up to the Grand Casino in Shawnee , OK with my Aunt and Uncle.

August:
Coushatta M&G if this is the month we are having it.

Like I said, not much planned right now, but I usually have an annual Memorial Day weekend trip, Labor Day weekend trip and birthday trip in December. We shall see.

Right now she's in a skilled nursing facility recuperating from a fractured hip that happened last month (on Dec. 7th -Pearl Harbor Day). She's been coming along very well so far and is expected to make a full recovery to where that she can move back into her own home (fingers crossed X).

Good luck a guy that works for me part time has a aunt that happened to and she is home and doing well and she's 101.

Just returned from Harrah's/Harvey's Lake Tahoe Friday, won a bundle. No big wins but lots of small ones so I came out pretty good there. If we all go there in June we should get a group together for the comedy club it was really funny this time and we could get real rowdy in there HHH.

August something big it's my birthday and it's a big one.

October or November probably Reno/Tahoe, DH's birthday and it's a big one too.

October or November probably Reno/Tahoe, DH's birthday and it's a big one too.

We do need to do the improv! It is a lot of fun. Talk about ROWDY with our group - the entertainers will never know what hit them! HHH!
Hope we finally get to meet up at the Tahoe meet and greet. We plan on being there June 8-12.
Too bad we just missed you at Tahoe. We usually go there every year on our anniversary (Feb 14) but had a great time instead at the memorial meet in KC!

Things just got Serious. We have been invited for DH's work trip to Hawaii. I don't know details just dates - which is a week in May. I am so thankful I carried a week over and got an extra week this year. I may work remotely also while DH attends meeting to shave a few days of PTO. Good thing we planned this March Vegas trip - as we won't make it to Vegas before October so we would lose Platinum. We are starting to build up Harrah's points.. so two Harrah's trips will help us. I am sure we will do Biloxi sometime in November or December to close out the year.

May - Wedding in Missouri -12th - 15 (Flying into KC - so staying at Harrahs Thursday Night - SW Sale on flights, rental car all in full size for under $100)
May -18th - 26th - All Expense paid trip to Hawaii (no details yet - but WOW)
Memorial Weekend - My Sister and BIL come for a week here
June 10 - 13th - Tahoe for Joker Meet
July - ND for a wedding
September - Week long work trip to CA

zeus LOL.. then you would hear that horrible SUCKING machine the slots in Vegas make when they take my money:). I also have to stay on track and take the 11 remaining tests I have for my RPLU Designation.. which means in 15 minutes I am off the forum and studying for at least an hour. I plan on using my "bonus" money from passing each test to purchase our tickets for Tahoe. If I purchase them.. the Big Guy can't change his mind. I can't go without him.. as all our play is on his card.. so I need him for the free room.. hence the reason I enticed him with Golf.

Booked at Choctaw Grant March 6th! It will be our first casino visit since the night after Christmas. That was the night the big tornado went through Dallas and that storm barely missed us at the casino to the west. The following day we had to take shelter twice from tornados on the way home. No fun at all.

Anyways I'm so pumped. This has been my longest break away from a casino since I started going.

Just booked another night at a casino. I have to be in Dallas April 3rd and 4th and I checked at Winstar and I have comped rooms. I decided to book there to save money on a hotel. Yes, it's about an hour from Dallas but it is doable (is that how you spell it?). Give them a little playtime. It's sad that I have only been to Winstar two times (both last July) and they are still sending me rooms and now $75 fp whereas my local Choctaw Grant only sends me $10. Yes I have taken a break since Christmas but I used to hit them up at least once a month and they will just cut you off if you skip anytime. I've been going there for about 3 years now. If Winstar wasn't so far that would be my choice everytime.

Okay, time to update mine too!

The Biloxi/Disney trip came and went. I can't say it was uneventful - HHH!
The KC M&G didn't happen for me, thanks to Mother Nature. I did sneak off to MoSUn for a couple nights to sooth the pain.
The Feb AC Junket didn't happen either because of the road trip home from Disney which landed me in AC for a couple nights.

So, on to the future:

March - Looks like the Vegas trip is going to happen!
March - Cruising on HAL's Zuiderdam for a partial Panama Canal Transit due to an irresistible Casino offer! Staying one night in FLL first.
April - Mitch wants to attend Indoor Ag-Con again so I have booked 4 nights and will see my boy! Oh, it's in Vegas again!
June - Toying with the Tahoe M&G but so far it is still a long shot. But I need to get to SF to see my Tim, so that is pushing me to do a combo trip.
July - AC M&G
Sept - Tentative plans for G2e.
Oct - Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT. Boardwalk Villas.

In addition, DH will definitely want to do something in May or June, and again in the fall.
I will need a Vegas trip in November or December.
Have to see my boys in SF and SA as much as I can manage.
