I've been on a self imposed hiatus from my local. So tonight I have a free night, DH is working and nothing else going on. I pass my local everyday on the way home from work, thinking about stopping in and having a solitary dinner then maybe hit the slots, I do have mystery freeplay............ I'm hoping someone will talk some sense into me. @ Noleman, Jeani, Nhcris remind me what a bad idea this will be.

There's probably A reason why you self imposed yourself. Most likely cause their payouts suck. I've self banned myself from one of my locals because of this. You think that maybe they've changed..they havent. Use that money for a real trip or MnG!

Well, if you do go...I would just enjoy the meal then play the mystery freeplay (which is most always the minimum that's stated) and have the courage to leave with whatever the freeplay gets you to help cover the cost of the meal. Sounds like it could be a free (but short) evening out - that is if you leave once after the freeplay has been spent : )

This sounds typical of some locals lately. They know that most players aren't betting higher amounts (losing) like they used to so the casino will "skim" and cut corners to make ends meet. These casinos are only cutting their own throats in my opinion.

Well in the first month I should be over halfway to the highest card level but I'm only 34% there I figured 60 so I'm not gonna go there till its fixed.

Go have fun on the free play, have a nice dinner and walk out when your BR limit is done. My friends and I went for an overnight a few weeks ago and it was horrible...no hits to even mention. Even the black jack table was bad.... If you go hope you have wins :) :)

All day long I have been reading trip reports, shhhh don't tell my boss and urge kept getting stronger. Then the voice of reason started chiming in. I tried to remember the last time I truly enjoyed myself at my local and could not remember a day. So I decided to put the decision in fates hands and left the traffic light decide when I left work, green was for straight ahead towards home, red was for right turn to the casino.

Well, the fates were playing with me too, normally the traffic line is only one cycle of the light long, today it was 3 cycles and so when I finally made it to the light it was GREEN, so straight to home I came, with a stop for some scratch offs. No lucky rabbits foot, but I did have a bowl of Lucky Charms for dinner while I scratched the tickets, HHH.

It is getting easier to stay away, when I listen to the grown-up side of my brain, HHH. My local is known nationwide for how tight it is so that makes it easier to stay away, but the flip side is they are the only game in town. My last time in a casino was November too.


Darlene probably a good thing the light was green and home you went. How did you do on the scratchers?

All 10 of the $1 tickets were losers, the first $5 ticket was a loser and the 2nd was a $10 winner. The $10 ticket was a loser and the $20 was a $50 winner. So all told I stayed away from the casino and made a $10 profit on the lottery.
