DW and I have a bet going. I think the original WOZ video slot came out around 2006. She says 2008, when we started dating. Anyone know for sure? I can't find the definative answer anywhere online. I want to win this bet in the worst way, since tomorrow is Steak and BJ day.

WMS — The Wizard of Oz
Follow the Yellow Brick Road directly to sensory immersion gaming in WMS’ new game. The Wizard of Oz is launching with WMS’ exclusive Bose 3Space™ Surround Sound gaming chair to join the journey to Oz. Players will cheer when they see the Flying Monkeys stealing reel symbols to reveal Wild symbols during the Flying Monkey Bonus and will sing along as Glenda the Good Witch randomly appears during regular game play to convert one to five of the reels into expanding Wilds. The Road to Emerald City takes players through an extensive bonus where they collect credits and characters and have the opportunity to travel to the Emerald City, where the Wizard of Oz awards even more credits based on the number of characters previously collected. All of the engaging bonuses, coupled with a large wide-area progressive, are sure to keep players on the edge of their seats. As we all know, WW legends has been out a while now, but most of us still haven't played it. Maybe same with WOZ. May have come out in 2007 but not really distributed till 2008. I'd have to give the edge to her. Sorry. No way it came out before 2007.

The first place in Vegas to get it was Bill's I believe. We stayed at Bally's Thanksgiving of 2007 and I think that was the trip we first ran across it. Of course that was a long time ago and my dates may be off. Didn't see it at any other casino. Also, the great big 8 seat WOF was first installed at Bill's about that time, took up half the casino lol.

That was first the machine that truly won my heart. I would drive hours to play it. People would be lined up waiting for a chance to play this slot. It used to pay out decent bonuses.

Thinking back with a clearer head now, I think DW might be kinda right. We likely started playing it in 2008, but before we met, and we're both taking solo trips to Vegas. She wins , with a technicality.

2008 - remember distinctly because I pulled off I-29 into an Isle of Capri to escape gridlock traffic during an ice storm/blizzard lol - sat down and played it for almost 6 hours straight to wait it out and kept winning, Glinda in the bubble kept appearing and Flying Monkey bonuses over and over and all I wanted was to GO HOME! Finally close to midnite ventured back out and my trusty 1999 Buick Regal got me there lol, no I did not go to work the next day lol...
