No more locals!!!

I am completely over it! This year I decided to give my locals one more chance. It was a complete fail and disappointing. I have been to my locals 6 times and only once went home a winner.

The slots are just not playful. Bonuses are hard to trigger, the payouts are low, and I'm tired of the $5 bonus wins.

I'm making a pledge to avoid the locals. I will save my bankroll for future M&G's and of course Vegas.

The most I ever won at my local was $700. That was in Oct. 2013. I'm hoping my next trip to Vegas will include a HP.

I think that's a great decision Jen and you can do it! I made the same decision and I am so glad I did. My bankroll goes so much further in Laughlin and Vegas. I am really happy for those that it works out for, and are able to build their bankroll, but it just doesn't happen for me, I lose it all lol. Also, we happened to be at Pala for a concert in January and I played a hundred and enjoyed it, so it's not like I refuse to play if I'm there, but that was rare since DH doesn't gamble.

good decision and yeah it is hard to keep away from them especially for us when winter sets in. with winter gone it will be easy to wait til the april Meet for me. then summer will be here and will find other stuff to do

Jen Jen, I think it's a good move. If you save it for a destination like Vegas, there's so much more to do -- so even if you lose, you get some entertainment and relaxation for your $ and don't feel quite so ripped off!

My locals are Pechanga, Harrah's, & Barona. I know what you mean. I have been robbed way too many times. I'm glad others can win at the NA casinos, but for me it just doesn't happen.

I guess I just automatically expect to always lose and try and just get the entertainment value out of it. I seem to lose equally except my last few So Cal Harrahs trips have just been one big bleed for me. My sister does pretty well though and at least gets a crap load of hits to keep playing so that makes me feel a bit better. Three more weeks and we'll be having an EPIC time in VEGAS!!! Like anywhere, you gotta be on the right machine at the right time and I look at the jackpots and what the person cashed out as and such before playing. I mostly play games now that at least give you a guarentee of $10 minimum if you hit the bonus. Mystical Temple I dont know why their mini is 5 bucks for a nickle machine and they don't even multiply based on your bet level and same with beat the field. The only machine I know that does multiply and guarantee at least 10 is titan 360 and that is what I mostly play because of the guarantees when you hit the bonu and the multiplier based on your bet level. Yes I play other stuff too, but most of my play when I can get on is titan.

Let me know when you are planning on heading to Pechanga or even Morongo or San Manuel and maybe I can be your good luck charm. Those are the only 3 local casinos I go to often I have been to fantasy springs too before a few years ago twice, but they took out my favorite horse racing game there that works like you are at a real horse track betting the last time I was there and it's pretty far. BTW I was Naomi's good luck charm when we saw each other at Chumash last year and she was winning like crazy from some of the machines I was picking for her when my family and I were taking a mini vacation in Solvang.. =)

Jen, since I don't play at locals and save it all for Vegas and the occasionally cruise ship casino your decision makes a lot of sense to me! Very sorry though that the locals have been like that.

I/we feel your pain Jen Jen. I just totally quit the HL section our regular local, and we are discussing quitting altogether. Problem is we no longer travel more than 60mi, and the next nearest local is 100mi. Don't care for movies and such, so what to do for recreation becomes the ?. :(.

For sure! I'm definitely spoiled in Vegas. When I "attempt" to book a domestic trip to a different destination I always balk at what luxury hotels cost and that's not adding food, travel or entertainment so I end up going to Vegas, LOL.

So far in my lifetime I've been to every State in the Continental U.S.A. (except Maine) and in parts of Mexico & Canada. There is no place that can compare to what Las Vegas has to offer : )

One of our locals closed do to a tribal dispute and the other one that is only 20 minutes away has gotten pretty cocky, they have lowered FP and written some off. We have been going pretty regularly for years and always had some FP and now they have written off my DH. He is pretty mad about that, and wants to stay away for awhile. I do get the itch but have noticed more cash in my wallet so I am holding out for Vegas, Tahoe, and Reno. I can't brag about great will power because we did go to Tahoe mid January and Las Vegas end of February. But the locals have really gotten tight and have taken a lot of the fun out of going. Hardly ever get a bonus and when you do it seems it doesn't even cover your bet. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Good news however, we are leaving with all money we came with and we ended up playing bingo for free since I made my $40 free play into $65!

Not bad at all considering its a SoCal NA. We only slotted 30 min and had to leave because it was getting too packed and the air was thick with cigarette smoke.
