On another forum this is a recent interesting topic and got me thinking.

I don't have traditions, but think it might be fun to come up with one and start on my next gambling trip (not at the local). I'm thinking maybe one spin on a $100 machine or 4 spins on a $25 machine.

So do you have any traditions?

When I stay at Mandalay I always start slotting on the same machine. When I stay anywhere else I start on buffalo stampede.

I usually walk the casino to soak in the atmosphere first. Don't have a local, so most of my trips are to Vegas. Once I find a machine (babies or buffalo), I'll put in a $20 and hope that keeps me playing for a bit before I have to move on. The first drink I order is a strawberry daiquiri or rum and coke, depending on my mood.

Each casino in Vegas I have a particular slot I always start with. As I look back at my past trips, I may need to rethink my strategy. [emoji15]

Odd we don't have any gambling traditions after all these years. I guess we have Vegas traditions instead.

I always play a 5-line, $1 Wheel of Fortune machine in the airport at Southwest Gate 4 when I arrive ($20) and when I leave (whatever I have left). I have a pretty high win ratio on that machine.

I always play Hot Red Ruby for Mom. Her favorite machine.

Every trip I make I always put something completely random in the safe when I get in the room.
The last time it was a Reese's Egg.

I always play my freeplay before touching any of my bankroll. I have had a few trips where I won something where I never had to touch my bankroll that I brought so it has just been a tradition for me everywhere I go.

I have started more recently trying just $20 in a machine that's a big bet for me, either a $5 machine or a 5 line dollar game. So far nothing too good, have had some hits that I'll just play down but I know one of these times it will be a huge win.

I think my tradition is to win early.. so I get cocky bet bigger and lose all my money. Sad but true.

Newest tradition is to keep handpays in safe seperate to take then home no matter what.

Also another one is to play any fp on the morning of trip before I leave.

I guess my wife has a tradition. If she wins around $200 or more playing Sex and the City, she heads over to Michael Kors to spend it.

Now that's a tradition I can agree with! She's my hero!!

I always go and take a look at the pool. I tell myself that I will use it on this trip. I hardly ever do. And, I try to find one machine that I have never played before, and I give it a few spins.

I never really thought about it, but looking back I can say that I have different traditions at different casinos.

At Four Queens, I run (not walk) to the Mike's Bar, slip $100 in a specific VP machine, order up a Pale Ale & soak up the atmosphere while chatting up Mike or Mike while I wait for those progressives to start ringing up.

At Cosmo I sit down (usually at a particular Buffalo machine) and order up a Cosmo and laugh at myself pretending to be a Cosmo type gal.

Lately at Palazzo I check to make Leonidas is still there (I am sure his days are numbered) & let him tease me for awhile.

At Paris I always go to my Quick Hits machine that gave me $10,000 and spend some time rubbing him and whispering sweet nothings to him. I try to never give him more then $40 now as I realized that I have been slowly & surely giving him back that win, and he never puts out for me anymore.

In most other places, I just leave my brain at the door & walk in a trance to the first machine that catches my eye and start the process of draining my wallet.
