Having a little anxiety here! Staying at the Flamingo, no comps been reading some bad reviews on trip advisor. Only picked it because of close location to other places. Anyone ever stayed there or played there. Was hoping to play at the CET properties to get some future offers.

Has anyone ever been to Rao's at CP? DH and friends want to go there because can't get into the one here in NYC. Reviews were not so great also.

Looking forward to gambling and relaxing. DH wants to look at real estate in Summerlin! He would love to move there! Also have plans to meet up with Stephiede11!

Been reading and taking notes from all these great trip reports. Have not been to Vegas since 2003 (wedding), so excited! Thanks everyone.

Re: Flamingo, I haven't stayed there in forever and honestly I probably wouldn't stay there now. I too hear lots of bad things, and the rooms are definitely run down. I personally would stay at Bally's or Harrah's over Flamingo. Harrah's just remodeled some rooms and they might be the same price as Flamingo? I guess the Carnaval South rooms have all been renovated and look very nice.

I'm not crazy about the Flamingo casino either but the nice thing is that all those CET properties are so close together on that side of the strip, you could easily gamble at Harrah's, Linq, Bally's and Paris all on the same day without walking very far. Just remember, if you're trying to reach a certain tier credit level for the bonus, that you keep track of your tier credits at each property, because it won't show you your accumulated total when you put your card in at a new property (even though they do count towards the tier level bonuses).

Oh, I do like the Margaritaville casino that's part of Flamingo. Different vibe in there and love the music.

My girlfriends and I ate at Rao's last April, I think I wrote about it in my trip report. Food was all very good, and my two girlfriends also said they couldn't wait to go back! We were going to have my sister's wedding reception there but they were just way too expensive for a private party. So we're doing Carmine's instead.

It's been a long time since we stayed there but the elevators are sloowwww the rooms were out dated but clean and I just sleep there so that's fine about on par with a super 8 but the suites are nice.

Thank you Blase for your advice. Think I will gamble at the other CET properties instead and remember to keep track. Love Carmine's in AC the food is always good. Sound like a great place to have a wedding reception in Vegas. Have a great time.

Thanks foamy, don't plan on spending much time in the room, not much of a sleeper anyway! Think we will try to upgrade even if it costs more $$. Don't mind the slow elevators, just don't want to get stuck!!

Reen I had gotten an e-mail from CET 2 weeks ago offering some special deals staying at their casinos in LV. If you already have a TR players card you can try these codes to mention so that you can/might get these offers at Caesars, Planet Hollywood, Linq, Paris, Flamingo, Bally's, & Harrah's. The phone # that they give to call is: 1-800-451-3589. The offer of 2 free nights (where available) mention code: LVFFTR. The other offer for reduced room rates, mention code: LVX7FYKP1. It can't hurt to try? Good luck! : )

Also, if you're into lobster there is an all you can eat buffet at Bally's on Saturday's & Sunday's. Here's a video on it from about 8 months ago (I'm sure that they still have this buffet going). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xa4vYHwcwY

Blase advice is spot on.

Problem with Flamingo is you could get a nice room, or you might not. There is some gamble involved. We've had 3 great experiences on the last 6 months at Bally's in a Jubilee room and will stay there again this year.

As far as slots go, every CET prop has a few throwback slots which I enjoy. I agree Flamingo/Harrah's location is the best but I think PH has the best CET slot floor and it's next door to Bally's/Paris.

If you go to Summerlin, stop into Rampart Casino. It's a true Summerlin local casino and is paired with the JW Marriott hotel. We love staying there.

Good luck.

Ok, I may be in the minority here but I had no issues when I stayed at Flamingo, but it was 2 years ago. I stayed in a Go Room and it was really cute & clean. I searched for a picture but I can't find one, sorry. I thought drink service was good particularly in the Margaritaville Casino, and I really enjoyed the proximity to all of the bars ad restaurants in the Linq, not to mention the overall central location. Personally, I liked it much better than Harrah's, but then I just can't find anything to like about Harrah's ;)

It sounds like you are committed to Flamingo, so I recommend trying for a Go Room and just enjoy the hell out of yourself! Just know that it is no Borgata :)

Thanks treyster for your advice. Where are the OBJ machines you like? Will add the Rampart to my list. I heard that Summerlin is a very nice place.

Good luck Reen, we also booked a "Go" room at Flamingo and it was clean and remodeled. The buffet wasn't great but it also wasn't bad. My boyfriend won a jackpot there in December. I think they had a decent selection of slot machines.

Harrahs Diamond lounge has best mudslides! I like Harrahs never stayed at flamingo or Cromwell many times at all the others. Used to flamingo smelled bad to me but last few years it's not noticeable.

I think you will be ok with flamingo. Love how The linq high roller opened that side up much nicer getting around.

I've spend hours and hours parked at the lone OBJ at Bally's in the last 6 months. I guess there's one(or more) at PH but I must have missed it(them). Other than that, there's 3 in the back of the Palazzo but I imagine their days might be numbered (very little nostalgic feel at V/P).

Thank Chris, I feel much better now. Will try to upgrade to the Go Room. Happy to be able to move around between hotels easily, as my DH is not into the gambling as much. Feel like I'm up for an adventure, which is so not like me. Looking forward to meeting you in July.

Thank you Georgiagambler! I'm going to try not to eat at any buffets, because I always end up overeating! Glad to hear they had a decent selection of machines. Hope to meet you someday.

Thank you Linda, I love mudslides! Wish I had a Diamond Card! They make them so good at the Amphora Lounge at the Borgata. Hope to meet you someday.

We stayed in a GO room about 5 yrs ago, must have been right around when they debuted. It was nice, but a little small. The biggest issue we had was the line to check in was 1.5 hrs, it can be a long wait as mentioned. We did like stopping in to Sin City Brewery and the pool is great if you get there early enough to snag a good spot.

We are going to be checking in very late probably around 10PM. Hope it is not too long at that time, going to be long day for us, because of time change.

Reen, while we did not stay there or play for more than 20 minutes or so last week, blame Allen for that, I found the casino had a great selection of games, and most importantly, the casino was very clean. That is very important to me. My advice is go in with a good attitude and sweet talk them. They will probably give you an upgrade since you are there for a week. If need be, BS them and tell them you haven't been there for 13 years and you hope this experience is as good as the first time. [emoji106]

But definitely hit Harrah's and PHo casinos. They were great to us for keeping the BR intact.

I bought a house out there in 2012 in southern highlands so I have some insight into that area. Best advice I can give you is look at gated neighborhoods and don't buy where you back up to open land. And whatever you do, stay out of Mountains Edge. Henderson has some nice shopping areas and is probably the most stable part of Vegas.

Thank you Zeus for your great advice. I'm all about a positive attitude. Glad to hear you thought the casino looked clean. I always bring my own cleaning supplies lol! I will definitely check out the other CET properties.

Thank you for your advice Cleo. We are just looking, although my husband would love to move as soon as possible! I have a friend that moved to Henderson about 6 years ago, and she is very happy. Hope to meet up with her, and check out that area also.
