Me and Allen have always played on the same card. After our Vegas trip last week we renewed our Diamond status. The issue is that the card is under Allen's name, so that means that I cannot book anything without him. Not that I believe I would. Unfortunately TR will not let us have separate cards and link the accounts like MLife will. And I doubt that we could reach Aspiration 1 just due to our limited play and size of bets.

My question is should I now look to get my own card? We are going to Cherokee for an overnighter this month, then to AC for the M&G in July, and then back to Vegas in September. That will most likely be the extent of our gambling for 2016. Will the lower play on his card kill the free play and room offers we get under his card? We have averaged $300 in free play in the past few trips to Vegas. What would it do if we were to mostly play on my card in AC? At our level, unless we had some miracle happen and won each day, I doubt we could get 1,000 tier credits on each card, and it would suck to lose out on the 1,000 tier credit bonus. I am okay with how it is set up now, but wonder if there are advantages to me having my own account?

So TR experts, what would you do?

Sharon and I have always played on the same card and always achieve the club level goal that we want to reach.

If she was to get her own card, yes it would be a way to get 2 comped rooms instead of only one, and yes she would get FP offers.

Downside is my FP would probably drop in half because the play on my card would drop in half, plus I doubt if either one of us could hit Diamond status again unless we played exclusively at CET casinos!

You're kinda stuck since the reservations are in his name.

I'd lean toward wait till Vegas then get your card going so you don't screw up the regional benefits you've got going. Even small amounts of play will get you comped rooms in Vegas which may come in handy if you end up needing a short night out there.

We're in the same boat, my card's dormant but Linda's is getting all the CET benefits (her first time)

If you are only looking at playing on a card in your name in AC - unless you make diamond while you are there - then I don't think it would be worth it.
The room comp is in Allen's name and if he shows no play on his card - he probably would not be able to get a comp room there again.

This would not alter his Vegas offers if you still play with his card in Vegas.

I would get your own card, and take turns on which card you play on. Like everyone else said, don't not play on his card when you have the reservations in his name, that will ruin things. But for example, when you do your overnighter at Cherokee maybe play the first day on his card, since that night is in his name, but then if you decide to play the next day get a card then and put some heavy play on yours and not on his at all. Or find some time when you can do one day of heavy play on your new TR card, from both of you. You'll start getting some really nice offers there, might even get a few that are better than what he's getting since they will see you as a "new recruit". Then you'll start seeing future offers from places and you can pick which one is best.

Darrell and I have always each had a card but have played almost exclusively on mine so we could increase our tier level. We do play Darrell's a little bit several times a year just so his RC's don't expire (I think he's up to 300 RC's or so now and this year's Tier score is 36!). The other reason to use his is on days we know we aren't going to play much...it keeps from bringing my ADT down. Once in a while, adding his card number gets a slightly better rate or a comped room, but since we made Diamond, it doesn't seem to matter. Depending on your play, a Diamond and a Platinum might be able to get you better stuff than a single Aspiration. We don't know for sure, because I doubt we'll every play enough to find out either way LOL!

These are perfect, and pretty much what I was thinking. Thanks to the experts!

If you add both cards to get a better reservation then only play card A, does card B get dinged for no play? Anyone know for sure?

We alway's get to diamond on my card first then do Laurie's but if the rooms are under Allen's name I would make sure to play on it not sure but I bet it would hurt if you didn't.

Maybe try to get a few only after getting a minimum of 1,000 tiers per day on his.

I just hate to waste those points if I know we will not make Aspiration 1. But also do not want to mess up what has been a good a good thing for us so far.

I kind of do what your saying, it can work. Me and my wife always play on my card, we had linked cards but it was always screwed up so we just went to mine, she never goes without me. I also go with a friend, if we do a charter under my name he plays on my card, we try to get his some play on at least one day when we hit the 1K. If we go to Vegas we play on whoever book the room card. If you keep you card active and get like 500 points you should get some decent offers....but if you use one you have to make sure you play on your card that day.

The only solution I see is playing more to hit that level hahahaha! Jk!

While level one aspirations does not get you much, if you go to AC much it's worth trying to get to 25K. I think that is the threshold to get free access to the Dia Lounge......otherwise it's $10pp to enter and must be paid in points

This will be our first visit to AC in probably 10 years.

Did not know that about the Diamond Lounges in AC. Our RC's are fairly low right now, but Allen received an email from Cherokee that if he goes this month, which we are in two weeks, he will get 4,000 RC's for his birthday. That will cover a couple of trips right there. Thanks for letting me know this!

The Dia Lounge in AC Caesars is top drawer. Well worth the 1000 RC's per person. We have enough RC's for about 2 years then will have a problem. 10,000 RC's / TC's is a lot for entrance to a D. L. 10,000 TC is 50000 coin in times 13% loss is $6500. Thinking we'll start using the TR credit card more especially since AC will get majority of our play now that Cleveland has left CET. TR credit gives RC's for most places except discount grocery stores (Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, etc from what we found out calling credit card company).

Thanks, Penguin! I am now even more stoked to hit up the Diamond Lounges in AC. I had heard they were better than the ones in Vegas, but the couple of times we hit the one at PHo I thought it was a nice place to take a break and have a snack and drinks. I guess we will have to get caught up over a nice drink!

I think you have that wrong, the entrance fee for the DL in AC is only $10 comp dollars (1,000TCs) for people that didn't earn 25,000 TC in the previous calendar year.

I doubt I have it wrong but maybe not clear enough for all. The 10,000 number is the difference between 15000 TC and 25000 TC for free entrance to diamond lounge. One TC generally equals an RC however there are extra ways to earn both. Bonus TCs from gambling do not equate to extra RCs. Of course we both know comp dollars are RCs not TCs. The cost of the extra 10000 RCs earned via TCs only was to demonstrate the possible cost in real dollars. Thanks for bringing this up.

You'll get a hell of a lot more than just a snack at Caesars in AC. Haven't been to the DL at Harrahs yet as we normally stay at Caesars. See ya for the M and G.

OK, I see what you were trying to illustrate.

I don't really think about it since I'm gonna "gamble" anyway, and my TC are well beyond 25,000.

Gambling is my entertainment.

The Diamond lounges in AC are way better than Vegas. I like Vegas but they are limited compared to AC. Diamond lounge @ Caesars has a great view and if recall correctly, they have hot food all day unlike Vegas. Of course I even like the DL @ Cherokee better than Vegas, food all day and they stay open until midnight on the weekends. I think it sucks that the one in Vegas closes at 9pm. The bad part about Cherokee is paying for drinks but at least the drinks are cheaper in DL than on the floor and you can even pay for them using Total reward credits.

One thing to remember with the DL at Caesars AC is that they want to charge you the 1000 RC each time you go into the lounge during a day. They will however not charge you the second 1000 if you leave for 30 minutes or so. Just clear it with the person at the desk when you leave. What they don't want is for you to have late lunch and then dinner using the same 1000 RCs for the low Diamond player. (That's us!!). They do close at 8 PM (I think) on week days so we generally go in around 5 or so have couple drinks, then dinner then couple more drinks. Then if able, go out to play around with the slots some more. Very relaxing and a great way to spend a few hours without being forced to sit at slot if you want to sit down. HHH!! Our goal is to go to destination places, spend about 6 hours playing and the rest of the time relaxing and enjoying the property/location. And at same time using the bonus system to maintain Diamond status.
