View Full Version : Anybody familiar with Graton Casino in California?

We're heading down to the Bay Area in a couple of weeks to float my dad's ashes into the Bay, followed the next day with a family casino run to Graton in his memory. My brother has been there a couple of times but we haven't, so if anybody has any hints or information (slots, blackjack, restaurants), I'd appreciate it. It certainly hasn't received favorable ratings on Yelp, but that could just be sour grapes!

I believe clemi has been there a few times. She might chime in when she returns from her camping trip.

Food: they have a food court with habit burger, a Mexican joint, some Asian, and a BBQ place. Out of the food court, I like the BBQ. If you have time, 630 park steakhouse is good. I think they have some coupons floating around at the players club desk for 50% off entrees. Definitely worth it.

I don't know what your fav slots are, but they have a decent mix. I'm sure you'll find something you'll like.

Blackjack, they have regular shoe games, freebet BJ, and double deck games...but beware, some of the games are 6:5 for BJs!

It you have specific questions, feel free to holler.

Thanks for the info about the casino and the dining options. Both the steakhouse and BBQ sound pretty good to me!

Serenasea I love the Daily Grill restaurant it's why I go to Graton. The casino is beautiful and has more charm than Cache Creek but truth be told Cache Creek is better for gambling imo

Thanks, Clemi. I looked at the menus and thought the Daily Grill looked pretty good, but I'd be okay with the food court if we can't manage to drag everybody away from the machines at the same time. We've visited Thunder Valley and Cache Creek in the past, so it will be fun to visit a new casino this time around, and maybe better scenery on the way.

For a one time stop-off, it's OK.

It's the closest casino to me and I don't play there regularly. It's a typical California Indian Casino. It's BIG. Pick a meeting place on the perimeter that way, if anyone has a navigational impairment, you can wanter around the perimeter and eventually find the place you're looking for.i

Just for your entertainment, You Tube channel Jackpot Masters, play out of Graton high limit room. I think it's the same casino. Have a good trip and good luck!

Have you been to cache creek recently? I haven't been for over 7 years. How is it and is it still smokey with a lot of lurkers?

It is still smokey but I always arrive early so I can find a machine to play before the crowds.

I've had better luck at CC than Graton, although I like Graton's casino more.

Good idea, thanks. Unfortunately, I'm the one who tends to get lost, so this will help.

I'll be sure to come back with an update after our visit.

I never won anything at Cache Creek but one time when I was there it was raining like crazy, and a construction worker who lived in San Diego but had been working in the area was rained out that day, so he came to the casino and hit $2 million on a WOF machine. I've never seen so many security personnel circle a player and machine that quickly.

You can use MyVegas deals there too. The pizza place is same as Pizza Rock in dtown vegas.

Just thought I'd update this thread after our visit to Graton.

I liked it, much more than I do Cache Creek. They had many of the machines that I see in Vegas that haven't made it to the Washington State casinos -- several versions of Buffalo (including Stampede and Grand), several versions of the babies, WWII and III, Lightning Link (which must be new there as I couldn't get near it, people were hovering waiting to pounce), Sphinx, etc. I didn't lose my entire bankroll and got in some playing time. Also played some Blackjack ($10 minimum) with one of those dealers that keeps you laughing and engages the table -- a lot of fun!

Thanks to clemi"s recommendation, we ate at The Daily Grill, and everybody was happy with the food, the craft beer selection, and the server.

Traffic was really heavy heading back to the Bay Area (3:00 p.m. on a Monday), a lot of stop and go during one stretch. Still, we all agreed we like it well enough to visit again.
