View Full Version : Frustration With CET in Atlantic City

Just back from a four night trip. Stayed at Caesars in Centurion Tower. Nice room. However, CET is cutting back even more on their restaurant choices during the week. At Caesars only Cafe Roma open for breakfast. Buffet is not open. But you can get a crappy buffet at Roma for $20. For our Diamond dinner the best one open at Caesars was the frickin' Buffet. Went to Guy Fieri at Ballys. We only had 2 nights we could do this and one night was booked already. We made reservations a week ahead. The only moderate priced dinner during the week at Caesar is Noodle Bar.

At Harrahs during the weekdays Buffet opens at 4 PM. There is one cafe that serves limited breakfast according to on-line menu. There is a great sandwich place there that opens around noon. (Bill's)

During the week Diamond Lounges now close at 7:30 not the 8PM listed on web sites. Without the DL we would have payed more than needed to get dinner.

So for those going to AC and CET you might want to check web sites as to what is open and when, especially during the week. Oh yes, better make notes.

Of course for us to get to AC we have to travel down the Sure-Kill in Philly. Always count on 30 minute delay/slow down. Makes our 7 hour drive even longer.

We are now looking at the 2 casinos in Indiana as possible alternatives. If anyone has experience at Hammond or Southern Indiana give us a shout.

Rant now over.

Have a great day.

Darrell

Sorry to hear things have tightened up wrt restaurants. I too would be disappointed with the misinformation.

Good to know since so many of us will be there in a few weeks.

Thanks and I hope your trip was otherwise okay.

If people are there, and especially during the summer months, where do they eat? I guess we are lucking out that most of our time there will be over the weekend and we have meals planned, but it seems very strange. Thanks for the heads-up!

They have a Johnny Rockets at Ballys. Small but they do serve breakfast lunch and dinner. Gotta like burgers though. HHH

Actually trip was good. Earned over 1300 TC at a cost of 40 cents per tier credit. With bonus this was 22 cents per TC. Actually when we get the 50% Spring promotion bonus our cost this year will be 5 cents per TC. Cathy will get Diamond for less than $1K. Yep we may be cheap, but we know how to play the system. HHH Of course next year it could be $1 per TC. All depends on luck and bonus points.

Did spend a full day messing around on 25 cent one line reels. Think that may be place for me to play.

Was also tough dining options at the Borgata this week. The new marketplace has not opened yet. Although the Amphora Lounge for black card members has pretty good hours during week 2PM-10PM. Can't keep eating at the buffet lol! Maybe CET increases hours for July & August? My sister is always eating at Bills Burgers at Harrahs.

One would think during summer. It would be busier and more choices.

Also forgot to mention my sister and hubby treated us to lunch at Buco di Beppo upstairs at Ballys. It is an Italian style restaurant, we had lunch, it was okay (nothing like Carmines). I noticed they are open for breakfast also. They had CET discount plus comps. I've seen coupons also in Sunday newspapers.

Darrell, I would not say you are cheap. You are just two smart cookies enjoying retirement and everything you worked your asses off for. And you are doing it right! So I admire you for that! I am taking notes for my retirement in hopefully 7 years and 2 months.

I have no offers for Atlantic city this summer in my total rewards account. :( I was thinking of maybe going to my first meet and greet with you guys and thought I would get offers like I do in vegas. I got offers for harrahs AC a few months back, but not since. :(

I'm not sure if you knew that Cafe Tazza is open 24 hrs. They only have a few tables. They offer breakfast sandwiches and pastries and coffee. The food is surprisingly good. There is also a Tazza at Harrah's. I hate cafe roma. The breakfast buffet at Bucca's in Bally's is good and they are open for breakfast every day. They also have a menu if you don't want the buffet. Harrah's also has Sammy D's a coffee shop that lastly isn't open 24hrs but was open for breakfast last trip. You also have the food court that offers breakfast sandwiches.

Cmon did you try signing in to Total rewards and instead of going to your offers go to the top of the page where it say's book it. If someone is going with you that also has a Total rewards card make sure you put them in where it say's companion. Then put in AC all casino's and your dates. Often you will find that the room comes up comped. Try it you have nothing to lose.

I am aware of all you said about cafes. Not driving from Caesar to Harrahs to eat a breakfast. Tazza is okay for sweet role but a breakfast sandwich is not my style. We do not eat a lot of food thus buffets are really not for us. Cafe Roma used to have decent dinner but now Caesar forcing you to go to buffet or upscale (if one is open). Actually for lunch we did go down to, Nathen's and had excellent cheese steak sandwich. Quicker and just as good as JR.

After the AC M&G we will be going to Horseshoe Hammond and have just made a Sept. reservation at Caesar in Windsor as we search for alternative to Atlantic City.
