Okay fellow Jokers, I need some advice. We are planning our September trip to Vegas and I want some input. You all know that we are MLife and Total Rewards players, so that is where our offers are at. During our trip to Vegas in April, we accumulated 159,652 tiers at MLife in just over days between Aria and Bellagio. I realize that is not a lot for a lot of the slotters on the forum, but for low-rollers I think it is pretty respectable. That puts us 40k away from Platinum. Our offers from Aria and Bellagio for the upcoming months are for only 2 nights with $150 free play and $100 RC. $150-180 for a 3rd night. :eek-new: We have never gotten offers for less than 3 nights. We could get 3 nights at MGM Grand and other MLife properties with $50-100 more in free play and RC's, but we dislike the slot floor of MGM Grand, even though it was our home base for 6 or 7 years. It would allow us to hit the other casinos at that end of the strip that we never seem to make it to. Have never stayed at their other properties. Mandalay Bay is nice, but it is so far away from the other properties even with using the tram. Plus we have never had a single decent hit there. We are not snobs and look down on lower ranking resorts, but we enjoy the nice hotels that have great casinos.

Total Rewards is offering us $350 in free play, plus we can get up to 5 nights comped. I emailed our host at PHo to find out if we should book through her or the site. She replied definitely use her because she can normally get us better rooms and probably throw in some food credits. And when I questioned her she stated that booking through her she actually does get a little something for booking our stay. I have to admit she has been fabulous getting us in to Cherokee when nothing was showing on the website, plus she got us all 4 nights comped at KC for the M&G. I am thinking that if we stay 4 nights at Caesars we could hit Aspiration 1. Though it does not give a lot extra it does come with the 5k bonus to start us off next year, and a $100 folio credit.

What would you do?
1. Give Aria & Bellagio just the 2 nights and then move to Caesars?
2. Stay at a lower MLife property for 3 nights for the extra free play & RC, and then move to Caesars for 3 nights?

I do have to say that 2015 was really the first year that we gave TR much play, and so far have been very impressed with the way we have been treated. Each of our last three trips to Vegas our free play offers have increased. In April it was $250, and now it is $350. Plus we have come to enjoy the perks of being Diamond. At this point we are not looking to move outside of these programs because our level of play and the limited trips to Vegas does not warrant trying to impress another loyalty program.

My question is, what would you do? I so much appreciate everyone's input on this forum!

My priority would be to maintain your CET level of play to keep the FP coming. I'd earmark heavy play days at CET.

Try Delano for 2 nights, top notch rooms. Seems like folks are getting clobbered at Aria recently.

Delano is not available for the Saturday night we need. $309 for that night. All of our experiences at the casino at Mandalay Bay has been brutal. We have never, ever experience anything but hoover mode there. And next door is Luxor. Our least favorite MLife casino of all. Well, in a tie with Mirage.

Pat, we have never been approached by a host, and one was never mentioned last year when we went in to the host on duty office at Aria about having a small amount of rooms charges removed. When we called the Marketing number last week they told us that the third night would be $180 at Bellagio, but they could review our play at the end of our trip and possibly comp it. I do not want to be held to that. I want it up front. We are not high maintenance. We never ask for or expect a lot. Just 3 nights in a basic room. I don't need a suite. We do not spend any time in the room, so why have one? We are consistent with our level of play. Normally 12+ hours of play per day. It is a little disheartening because we have been very loyal to them for at least 10 years, and I have always sang their praises here and to anyone that asks me about Vegas. If our play warranted a host I feel like we would have been approached long before now.

You know something Gene, we have started to see something that you and so many others have talked about the TR's program. They do truly have a nice program. The perks of the Diamond Lounge to get away for a few nice drinks and a snack, free shows, etc., are really a nice bonus to enjoy, and you can accomplish it without playing large.

I used to stay at M-life so I called and they said they would comp the rooms so I called back got a different woman and she told me she wasn't comfortable comping them so it pissed me off and I said "well how comfortable are you kissing my fucking ass" she hung up. hhh

I would probably do the 2 nights at Mlife at the properties you want to stay at, then move to Caesars. One day you will visit the Qua spa then you will really like staying at Caesars :-) you can't beat it for $20.

You can even change your dates and come while I'm there and it will be much better :-)

But I'm sure we will see each other at Cherokee sometime when you make it back there.

GG, I would love to be in Vegas with you, but with the flights being booked it would be around $800 to change flights on American. Zeus can low-roll with that kind of money for many, many hours! Plus, you need to have your free time to celebrate your mother's birthday. You do not need me singing happy birthday to her. It would bring tears to her eyes. Literally! :cower:

On the Qua spa, that would mean taking off my shirt in public. Ah, no, that ain't happening. I try to keep all of this covered up for the sake of others.

I vote 2 nights at Bellagio and 3 at Caesar's. Reward the casino group that rewards you while staying at places that make you happy!

Besides, you won't likely be happy if you pick a lesser MLife resort and wish you were at the Bellagio. (I only left out Aria because it seems that almost everyone is getting beaten up badly there!)

You mean 2 nights Bellagio and 4 at Caesars! Zeus does 6 nights in Vegas since we typically only make it twice to Vegas each year. :excitement:

Yeah, I agree on the Aria beatings. It seems like no matter what forum you peruse everyone is getting their asses handed to them on a platter. While I do love the Aria, I love my money even more. Plus I told Allen I am really leaning towards the Bellagio. He doesn't care. I booked the flights, the hotels, iron and pack the clothes. All he has to do for a trip is get his happy ass in the car for the ride to the airport. Oh yeah, I do the drive to the airport too!

That is what I am thinking too. We love Vegas so much, so want it to be a wonderful experience. After our last stay at Caesars in a strip view room in the Augustus Tower, I can say we absolutely love that room and are happy there. Favorite casino, no, but good enough for early morning slotting and before bed time.

Like others said, go with #1. If you aren't getting that third night at MGM easily comped then it's not meant to be.

By the way, you get some nice CET offers from Vegas. I made Diamond Aspiration 1 last year, and while getting as many comped rooms is never a problem, my freeplay and food credit offers are like $40- for Vegas. I only get large freeplay offers from their non Vegas casinos, so they must really like you!

Oh hell, does that mean if we make Aspiration 1 our offers will drop? HHH! You know, we have found that we love playing at PHo, Harrah's, Bally's and Flamingo. A lot of the older slots that I have learned to like over the past year or so are found at these casinos. So I see it as giving us an extra day of hitting those places up.

September 17th -23rd. The week before everyone arrives for G2E. :blue: Allen has a work commitment that week. But at least with us being there the week before the slots will be full of our money for you Jokers to win!

We went years never setting foot in the TR casinos, but we have found them to be enjoyable. Are they the Palazzo, Wynn or Cosmo? No, but we really have a good time in them and our money holds up with some really nice wins.

Don zeus.. You are very close to platinum.. And should get that easily in your two days at Aria or Bellagio. Book the two days.. And if a better offer comes in.. Call and switch it. I know your optimal is 3 and 3.. So I hope that works out. I would be happy to send you the name of my host at Aria and her contact info if you would like it. We are just branching out back into TR after Tahoe we are Diamond. We are not going to Vegas until October.. But plan to check out a few of the Diamond lounges on our next trip. I say Maximize your rewards without jeopardizing what and when you want to play.

I appreciate it, but I really feel like if we deserved a host that one would have reached out to us by now. We have had communications with Bobby Acevedo in the past. He is their Director of Customer Development. Never a mention of assigning us a host. My thing is that in April we were offered a Corner Suite. We played our normal level of play. No more, no less. I am thinking maybe taking a suite versus a standard room is coming back to bite us in the ass. We are not high rollers, but I feel 160k tiers for us is not too bad.

I guess all in all I am feeling a little let down. It could possibly be that things are going better for them and that we are such small players that we do not matter. But with gambling being down 12% on the strip in May I would think they would look at our consistent play.

First 3 years we got 3 nights at the B.Then after our last trip where we played more then ever our offers dropped to 2 nights. I love moving because I get bored of the same slots after a few day's. It is nice taking a break in the diamond lounge. My favorite was the lounge at Rio but I haven't been there in at least 5 years. Wait till you check out the ones in AC. Bally's and Caesars are worth a trip to the boardwalk.

The one at Harrah's isn't bad, minus the views. Every time one of my gracious friends lets me go in it reminds me of a Bonanza steakhouse with a bar. Maybe a bit more classy though..hehe I'd agree with the other jokes and do that split play. I took notice I can get Caesars comp'd for my Thanksgiving trip. I'm considering taking it just for the one night and the moving to Cosmo. They never offer it and I've never stayed, but I've also not stayed at pho either. I'd imagine Caesars is the more superior of rooms between the two, however I like pHo's slot floor better. Decisions decisions, just like yourself!

I absolutely love the slot floor at the Ho, but I have really started enjoying staying at Caesars. I know not many Jokers are a fan of it, but I enjoy the Augustus Tower rooms. The casino has more than enough slots that I like, so that is all I need to satisfy my morning coffee time and late night slotting. But dang it can pricey to eat there! Diana, we have talked about possibly trying the Cosmo one day. Thinking it will most likely be 2017 before we take that leap. We want to keep building witn CET because they are the only casino close to us (3 hours away), and since we live so far from Vegas we need it when we need our fix. [emoji2] As far as MLife, we are going to give them this one last chance to see how valuable they think we are. If we lose that loving feeling after 10 years with them, it will be a sad day. I have already thought that when the day comes I know you and pleepleus could hook me up with a contact.

I agree with many of you that say give your play to CET.......we really do like what being Diamond gives us, and since we usually can only go to Vegas once a year we can use that status for free rooms, etc at any of their locations. I feel like they seem to value their Diamond players and give good offers. We are going to Vegas in September and will be able to use the free show or ride tickets, free Diamond dinner, Diamond lounges, not to mention free rooms.

zeus, Diana brought up a good point. Cosmo has been matching offers and could possibly match either your Caesars's or Mlife offer. Their director of slots (not sure if that's his title) has posted an open offer to players. If you and Allen wanted to venture out of Mlife, you could possibly do a Cosmo/Caesars combo and just skip Mlife for this trip. My understanding of how the match works is that you email Kevin Sweet your offer and ask if he can match it.

Emma, we are really intrigued by Cosmo, but what has been holding us back so far is their one and only casino. We are the type that with so many casinos in Vegas we get antsy staying in one casino for a long period of time. We like to wander if one casino is not paying. If we would loosen up our budget for the BR and played larger I could see it happening immediately. But we are so focused on paying off the house 17 years early and building up for a retirement where we can continue doing as we please. I know, too danged responsible. HHH! We are going to use this trip to hit Platinum with MLife and Aspiration 1 with TR to see what 2017 brings. Then if Cosmo continues the match next year I believe we will give them a try for possibly 2 nights. I know you all love it there!

Sounds like a good plan. After all the dreaded comments on Aria, not sure how to feel about my September stay there. Looking forward to seeing you and Allen in AC, and later on in Vegas.

Good luck in September! We selected later in September this year also. We have been going in late August for my birthday, but seeing if we can avoid the 100+ degree temps. The heat is okay when you are younger, but no so much now.

We also usually go in August.....this year my husband is having shoulder replacement surgery..actually in 2 weeks so we would not be able to travel in August. When we saw the great deal with Southwest we went ahead and booked since it would be 2 mo. out from surgery. We went in September 5 years ago when my son was married there....the weather was still warm but not in the 100s like you mentioned.

Good luck to your DH with his upcoming surgery! That sounds very painful. But a trip to Vegas in the vety near future will help keep his mind busy.Great that you got a good deal on airfare!

I'm curious Zeus, what option did you land on?

We are at Bellagio Sept 17th for two nights. We then move to Caesars for four nights. Our host, Mary at PHo, came through for us. She is absolutely fabulous. Even though we are not high rollers she comes through, responds to emails typically within an hour, and has and a wonderful sense of humor. Hope to finally meet her in September so we can personally thank her for what she has done for us over the past year!

I think that was a terrific choice and I'm glad you have such a wonderful host! Hopefully she will be able to meet with you. :) I wish you and Allan lots of luck on your trip!

zeus, I'm sorry I missed this but sounds like you made the right decision.

I'm considering a trip in early September between the end of my stint at the clients and starting up at the firm. I'm sorry to miss you (again).
