View Full Version : Vegas offers - what would you do?

I'm planning a solo trip for early September between jobs. I end job #1 on a Wednesday so want to fly out Friday and return the following Thursday. No problem getting Cosmo comped over Labor Day weekend.
I called Wynn to book Monday-Thursday and was told Wednesday was unavailable. I was told that despite it showing as available on my offer calendar. She insisted it would be $990 for that Wednesday night because of a convention. I booked Sunday to Wednesday so one night overlaps but I'm a bit annoyed. I need the three nights at Wynn to get the FP.
I then go onto the Wynn site and I can book that Wednesday night for $177!!
Would you call back, point out the website rate and ask again about Wednesday? Or suck it up, give Wynn less play and either go for 5 nights or stay somewhere else for just a night?
Edited: I already called back and the second Wynn rep confirmed my offer was good on Wednesday if I stayed at Encore (and even if I stayed at Wynn, it would have been $350ish, not $990) so I booked the stays as I had originally wanted them. I was too impatient :)
But I'll be solo, lots of slotting, food porns and updates to follow!

Yeah, but the resort fee is $817.
Seriously , I'd give em less play and not stay wed.

Haha, TAB.
I already called back. I really dislike illogic (that isn't a word but I like logic). The encore is available comped for the three nights I want to stay. I prefer Wynn but I'll take the Encore comped and stay the period I want to stay.

I think that quoted price is ridiculous for ANY standard room in Vegas. I'm glad you were able to get comped there. I'd see if you could contact a host and ask if they can move your rez to Wynn.

That's a great alternative. I like wynn floor better but free is free.

Me too. But it just means extra steps (I love my Fitbit) so I'm ok with it. I also like having 3-night stays at places bc it gives me a couple full days and I feel more settled - but I did consider your idea of just staying two nights there - but having the slightly longer vacation won out.

What a great trip you have planned! Cosmo and Wynn/Encore are so nice. If I do well at Wynn on my upcoming trip I'll add Wynn to my planned Cosmo trip at the end of September. I'm glad you are getting a nice long slotting trip. Let me know if you decide to reach out to a Wynn host. I have a great host there.

Thanks elf! At one point I had a host assigned to me but she never reached out after the initial email many years ago. I wonder if she's there or I'm coded to her anymore? So yes I'd probably be in the market for another Wynn host.
I actually only have a host at Cosmo - I guess I'm not big enough for Aria although I've spent a ton of time there.

My only comment is I love Wynn, just wondering if you were quoted TS as I can't imagine the resort side would fetch ~$900 per night

Sounds like a fun time. Congrats on the new job. Glad you were able to get the room situation straightened out.

Thanks Emmas. I'm actually just returning to my regular job - I've been loaned out to a client for the last 7 months. However it will certainly be a shock to go back and will probably feel like a new job!

Yes, it will feel like a new job. Good to take a break beforehand. Enjoy the solo trip.
