Thought this article would be interesting although somewhat dated.

I did notice recently that my drinks tasted somewhat had a more citrus flavor. Maybe it was a result of a short pour with more back filler - if so, that's pretty underhanded imo.

I don't like it. It wouldn't surprise me if they tightened their machines also. I am going to avoid their properties on my next trip. They are not the only game in town. I wonder how its working out for them.

I don't order the cocktails much at the machines in Vegas because they're so weak. I'm not a big drinker anyway so I'm perfectly happy with a soda.
The Irish coffees are usually pretty good but I only drink those in the morning. I've also gotten decent bloody marys, but with those you hardly get any drink because the glasses are so small but at least at Caesars they come with olives and such so it's a snack too.

The writer of that article is a little late with it. :) M-life started that over four months ago and it's been a subject on some other message boards and I think Vital Vegas or one of the other Vegas blogs wrote about it a while back too. Fortunately Cosmopolitan, Wynn/Encore still seem to be making their drinks the same. Actually the last drink I had at Cosmo's bond bar which was complimentary while playing VP was so strong that when they served me the second drink I could only get half way through it before feeling like I had to much to drink and it was time to take a long break from drinking, LOL! The floor casino drinks at Cosmo still see as high quality as in the past. Unfortunately M-Life continues to be the leader of how much they can nickel and dime their gamblers.

Yeah, I agree. This article is really nothing new to any of us, and these changes have been ongoing for the past 10 years anyway for the most part. But as long as people keep filling those hotel rooms which they are this isn't going to change. It does seem like Cosmo has been bucking this trend and trying to keep their gamblers happy from what I have been hearing from a lot of people though.

There's always the off-strip casinos or Reno if you want a good gambling trip, which I what I do often now.

Bean counters are running Vegas now, not the entrepreneurs. Yes, as long as rooms are full the cost cutting will continue.

I'm hoping to make it in my first Vegas Diamond Lounge this fall, assuming DW will take me in with her lol.

Or rather, what the bean counters are doing is getting what they can before the rooms have vacancies because of the financial storm that's coming. The stock market is ripe & ready to take a big crap and they know it.
