My Fur Baby is having Surgery. Pleas send good thoughts.

Carlos was unable to put weight on his left hind quarters this morning. Per our mobile vet, we took him to the Vet where they could do X-rays for a better evaluation. He has a torn ACL and a loose patella. Surgery sch dukes for Thursday and he will have to stay over night. My heart is just hurting to the guy as you can tell he is in pain. Got him some pain pills and hope that helps somewhat. Please send good thoughts.. And PS.. This is not a pretty vet bill.. Oh no Cece! Poor Carlos! Did he jump down from something too high for him?
He jumps a lot - but has been a little weak in his jumps lately.. he must have injured it, and it finally tore sometime last night.

He has never even been to the vet.. we have a mobile vet that comes to our house. That was the first big step for us, the next will be leaving him overnight.

Yep- I agree.. haven't had any major expenses with him since we rescued him 5 years ago. I just hope the recovery goes smoothly and he isn't in pain.

Awww am so sorry, but the good news is I have two friends whose furr-kids had to have that same surgery and both came through with flying colors and are 100% back! Thank you for helping Carlos, he's so lucky to have such a great family!!

I feel your hurt --my fur baby had eight teeth extracted 8 months ago and 4 more last month and I was a complete nervous wreck both times till she came out of surgery--and yes those vet bills were costly---I think I spent more $$ on her teeth than mine lol--but they're worth it. My smile for the night.. When I look at that photo of Carlos with his bum shaved he looks like a little pig. Has slept most of the day.. Whimpers when we pick him up to carry him outside. Hops around on his good legs until he goes potty. Then back in to sleep. I hand fed him some food so he can take his pain meds. Hope he sleeps peacefully tonight.

It is funny .. But I am afraid the pain Meds make him feel better than he is.. And he is going to hurt himself. I work 14 miles from home.. But have been running home on my lunch hour to check on him. Yesterday he stayed out... Today he escaped.. I figured I would find him on the couch.. But not upstairs.. He is a difficult patient :)

When my Boston got fixed he kept trying to lick the stitches, but the collar didn't work. He managed to get around it. So I cut a tail hole in toddler shorts and pinned them on him. Worked like a charm. Except the morning I let him outside and forgot to take the shorts off, and he pooped in them! Thanks for the update on your doggie! One of my dogs loved water, and we got her a kiddie pool at Target. It is a thought if Carlos needs to be in a pool as I bet it work.
