As part of our road trip next month, I am planning to stop at Cherokee. It will likely be for one night mid-week, with a late afternoon arrival and an early morning departure. I am showing comped rooms in Mountain, Soco and Creek Towers. Which one would be nicest and most convenient to the casino? Also, is there a particular restaurant you would recommend for dinner?

Thanks Jokers!

As a matter of fact we are less than an hour away from Cherokee. [emoji2] As for towers, the Creek Tower is the newest. Great rooms, but no tub if you prefer one. The SoCo Tower is the next newest tower. Rooms are just like Creek, but have shower/tub combo. Shower does not have the best water pressure sometimes. It is a little closer to the casino and restaurants than Creek Tower. I have never stayed in the Mountain Tower.

For dinner it is pretty much Ruth's Chris or Brio. Brio is pretty solid. They do also have a buffet, but not sure of days open since we do not do buffets.

The Diamond Lounge is very nice. It is inside the HL room. Drinks are not free due to state law, but they are only $2-3 each.

Casino is very nice. 150,000 square feet, same as Aria. Normally don't win squat there, but it is a fun place.

I agree with everything zeus said. I'll add - skip the buffet. It has a decent selection but I've always found everything flavorless. The Selu Garden cafe has a small breakfast buffet which is reasonably priced and includes a fantastic omelette station. I have breakfast there each morning during my trips. The casino is very large and always clean. The employees are friendly and Ive always found the customer service to be fantastic. Enjoy your stay. I'll be there May 4 through 6.

Thanks you guys, that is awesome and very helpful information! I was going to book Soco, but when I put in my preference for 2 queens it disappeared, so I have booked Creek Premium. And now I see your picture, I am very happy with that!

@zeus (http://jokerswildforum.com/member.php?u=42), we usually eat pretty light on road trips, so Ruth Chris may not be the best choice for us. What type of restaurant is Brio? No Diamond Lounge for me. Kenny & I wear our Platinum status with pride - haha!

@Elf70 (http://jokerswildforum.com/member.php?u=797), do you know if the Sea Garden Cafe is open 24 hours? We are likely to hit the road by 6am, and would love to be able to grab breakfast before we leave!

I expect we will be there on May 17 for the one night, although I booked 17/18 just in case. I know it's midweek, but if any Jokers can make it over there, I would be over the moon!

The cafe opens at 6 or 7 am and closes after lunch. Definitely not 24 hours. There is a food court in the casino that had a Dunkin' Donuts and a Johnny Rockets which had breakfast sandwiches. Not sure of the hours off the food court. Maybe Zeus can check since he's lucky enough to be there now. (So jealous!)

Brio is sort of American/Italian. A little bit of everything. You can eat light or heavy there and be happy.

Hey, Chrissy! I was going to mention the Selu Garden, as well. And the buffet is very good!! They also have a food court with The Earl of Sandwich, Johnnie Rockets, and Dunkin Donut along with various other snacks available. The Soco tower is the oldest, but it was newly renovated a couple of years ago. Let me know what night you will be there and I'll see if I can get away for a night.

Brio is good meals under $ 20 and Ruth Chris has appetizers and a prix fixe along with high priced...Food Court I think is overpriced and not cooked to order or used to be imo,,,

I agree, Cyndy, on everything you said. And especially about the food court. Overpriced and blah. I love Earl of Sandwich, but the one at Cherokee tastes nothing like ones in Vegas, so I do not even go there.

Chris, we looked at work schedules, but no way can we swing Cherokee while you are there. [emoji20] Would love to see you again. One day soon I hope.

Where all are you going on this road trip? :onthego: Thelma and Louise?

Carol's dad passed in December so her Mom is living with Carol now. We are going down to their Kissimmee house (right next to Disney World) and bringing some of their personal items home. So it looks like we will be Kissimmee to Biloxi to Cherokee to Charles Town, WV to home. If you weren't such a camping fiend I would talk you into joining!

Well, if anything changes, keep it in mind! You know how much I would love to see you both.

Crossing all my fingers and toes! I truly hope you can make it and we can have a mini Joker's meet!

Johnny Rockets has a really good pretzel bun breakfast sandwich that you can grab early, they are open 24 hours. I also like the crispy chicken sandwich with bacon.

The Asian restaurant is not bad and I think they are open late night.

I wish I could join a mini joker meet but my nephew is graduating from high school and I'm hosting his graduation party that weekend and will likely have guests in town early.

Hope you have a good trip!

Wish I could meet up while you are down this way. My month of May has gotten crazy with two trips (Biloxi and Vegas) plus being the helpful Grandmother and doting daughter, lol. Oh yeah, and loving wife. Frack....

We like to go to Cherokee for 1 night, 5 hour drive and blow it out. My DH has come back even the last 2 trips, I have come home nothing but lint. Drinks are strong there! I like to get mine in a taller cup. Also, last call at 2 am and then they come by at 2:30 and take whatever you have left.

Nhcris..... Hi, Chrissy! Long, long drive to Cherokee today. You guys will be very tired when you make it there. Just wanted to mention something. I don't know if you play any 3-reel games or not, but Cherokee still has some of the "lock-and-roll" games from when the casino began and the laws were different. Those are considered "games of skill", and feature two spin game with the ability to lock reels in place after the first spin.
I don't think I will be able to make it over the mountains. If I can, it will be in the morning. I'll post to let you know. Cell service is not the best over there, with the casino being located in the valley surrounded by mountains. If I make it over, I'll find you!! Good luck!!

Sorry Nhcris, I won't be able to make to Cherokee. Hoping you guys have a nice time and get out of there with some good wins!
