FYI for those who are playing this machine:
The "one away" (the 15th space on the Bonus round) is actually the virtual reel where many will be left with after the 14th space is filled. On each Lightning Round bonus spins there is always one of the 15 slot spaces that has the virtual reel on it on each spin. I do not have the math stats on it, but it many have hundreds/thousands of blank spaces with only one "amount" chip scrolling at the same speed as the other reels for the "Grand Jackpot". My eye has actually never seen the 15th virtual reel chip space scroll by, but I am sure its there.

Never fear, there is also an "instant" win feature for the Lightning Link Grand Jackpot where you will just be awarded the Grand Jackpot after the conclusion of any spin without even being in the bonus round.

Which version of the game theme is your favorite and why? (Moon, Horse Race, Sahara, Mermaid, Asian Dragon, Vegas High Stakes, etc..)

I have seen the chip on the 15th wheel, while it was spinning. A local playing next to me at The Orleans pointed it out. He had already pointed out to me that most of the time there is no chip on that 15th wheel. I did experience that many times. It was fun watching that wheel spin and the actual possibility that it might land in the open spot. I like Sahara and Asian Dragon.

That is news to me about the Grand jackpot being awarded randomly! I always thought that you had to have the last spot filled in. My favorite of all is the Lightening Links games is Magic Pearl. I always seem to have the most luck with that one.

I used to do real well on Sahara Gold, but then the second half of 2016 and all of this year happened and I can't hit squat on it, or any of them. But I always go back.

Interesting about the ability to random hit the Grand without being on the game. Did not know that. I can tell you the last # to hit when I hit the Grand was one up from the bottom left (I think)

That is interesting. It makes sense, I don't know that there is a game out there with that large of a jackpot that can be won without some "weighted" odds to it, but didn't realize that's how its done.

another thing I noticed about LL games is that it seems like 1 out of 10 of the hold and spin bonuses are really good. But rarely is there a mix of good and bad. Say you are betting 50 credits on the game (doesn't matter the denomination, just using for an example). Most bonuses you'll end up with a bunch of 50, 100, 150 and maybe as much as 250 credits in the boxes. But every so often you'll get some really high credits amounts on that same bet- like 2500, 5000, etc. Of course larger bettors get higher credits, but even those high bets will occasionally get bonuses with 25000 credits then in them. You never get a mix though- like if I'm getting 50's and 100's I never see a big amount land. If I'm getting the large credit amounts I don't see the minimums land, maybe the smallest is the mini.

I'm guessing that's by design?

I've witnessed the major being randomly awarded... hoping to experience something similar :)

I had this 15th reel discussion with a WMS Math friend when we did a buddy-play on Lightning Link and we were both convinced, given our knowledge in this area, that regulators would not allow a virtual reel to be void of any 15th chip symbol. At least allowing the potential for the 15th chip to show up (1 in a million would even be acceptable) would be necessary. So in most cases you just don't see the scroll for that 15th symbol since it either moves too "fast," doesn't have a chance to "pass-by" before the symbol appears (all illusory, of course), or the reality that the RNG just did not produce the winning combo.

I did know about the random hit possibility. If you read the how to play on the machine it tells you that.

I used to like the Happy Lantern one the best but lately I've won more on Moon Race at Horseshoe Bossier. I always do better when I stop the reels.

I also hit the major once this year playing just 50 cent minimum bet at the Palazzo. It was the max. amount of $1000 but the reset was also $1000 due to bank build-up from previous players.

Well at least the rollover counts unlike on some fixed or set amount games! Thats good to know.

IE:
My favorite is the "Space" (Moon/Astronaut) version... decent base game hits and multiple bonus chip game chances when in the bonus round.

I wish it would land randomly for me. I've won the major twice so far on the same machine at Palazzo and the 2nd one hit 14 hours after the first. Montecarloplayer won the Grand at Lake Tahoe last year. I love the two new games Heart Throb and Tiki Torch. :)

The game was shut down after I hit the Major (see photo above) as it did not reset the value back to $500. When the slot tech guy came to audit the machine, the scroll on the Major was over $2000 so my hit kept it over $1000 and not the normal $500 reset. I still find it odd it worked that way.

I also have seen it, as a winner once in Caesars Palace! It was so exciting, as a bell started sounding before there was any indication of what it was that I had won. I thought for a moment it could be the Grand, but it was a gorgeous $900 dollar Major.

My favorite version is the Sahara! I hit a grand in Lake Tahoe on that version last year (when the machines were being really nice to me).

I knew how hot the machines were being last year at several properties was just was too good to be true and possibly a loss leader/honeymoon phase.... yet, I still keep trying now and am almost always disappointed. Props to them for making an addicting game!!

I've never even got it to go to the bonus round.

The frequency of any bonus round on this game theme is relatively high. Between the "6 chips to the bonus round" and the "three bonus symbol" base game bonus round, you should be able to enter these at least once during a gaming play session of, what I estimate, is at least every 10-20 minutes. Of course, you can get two back-to-back bonus rounds and also nothing for at least 1/2 an hour.

Thanks Slotspert. Guess I'll have to stay on it for 10-20 minutes and see if that works for me.

I am going to have to try the Cosmo next time i'm in Vegas. I haven't been there since they opened years ago and was never on my slot "path" when I am in Vegas, but you are so happy there that I think their slot variety might appeal to me. Thanks.

I think the slot variety this past year at Cosmopolitan is currently the best on the strip. Cosmopolitan will sometimes match offers from M-Life properties and others, if you want to consider staying there. The weekends can be hectic so you might prefer a Sunday to Thursday stay.
