I have a conference next year in June in Toronto. We are going to take the opportunity to mark some things off our "bucket list." My husband and I will be in Toronto for 3-4 days. We will take a train to Niagra Falls for two days and then will take the train to NYC. I am leaning toward the Hilton at Niagra Falls in Canada. We will stay in the closest hotel to the convention center in Toronto. But, I have no clue on hotels in NYC. Googling is overwhelming. We plan on visiting the usual tourist sites in the city, but do not know where the most convenient, safest areas to stay are. Does anyone have any ideas?

Dina, I am hoping the stars align so that we might be able to meet up while we are there.

You guys are always so kind and I appreciate the help each time I post.

Would be great to meet up!

Most of Manhattan is incredibly safe so I don't think that's an issue. Times Square is very busy all the time so even though that's centrally located, I'd suggest somewhere else. Happy to chat in a PM too!

Thank you for responding, Dina. I'm very pumped about this trip. I will keep you informed and will PM you when it is time to book the hotels. I am trying to do as much research as possible.

Of course, being a degenerate, I'm also researching the shuttle service to World Resorts Casino. LOL.

When I took my family to NYC we stayed in Times Square at the Doubletree. Yes there were always tons of people on the street, but once you were in the hotel you couldn't really tell and it wasn't noisy or anything. It was very easy to get wherever we wanted to go from there, which is why I picked it rather than further north or south which I also considered.

DK528, our plans have changed and we will not be able to include NYC in our plans this summer. I am so sad that I will not get to meet you, but I so appreciate your willingness to help. We will get as far as Buffalo.
