View Full Version : Verdict on Player Status with MLife at Borgata

Hi Guys ... I've been doing a lot of thinking and reading up on the card status, rewards, etc., and just wondering how the Borgata players feel about the requirements for MLife Gold, whether or not you feel it's as do-able for you as Borgata Black card was, or if it is now out of reach. I see lots of players seem to be having an easier time getting perks and achieving higher status with CET. There is no doubt that the travel advantages are greater with that program due to the availability of CET casinos everywhere, but I know that, while I love to travel, I really will be playing closer to home more often and I do love Borgata. :)

I finally found confirmation that, even though MLife Rewards MasterCard will give you automatic Pearl, you do not get the 25,000 in tier credits for a jump start toward Gold, so that status for a player like me just seems impossible to achieve, and it stinks because I spend hours at the machines, sometimes even to the point of exhaustion (haha!), but it gets me nowhere.

We are also wondering about the Borgata rewards system. For instance what is the coin in per tier credit? Also for comp dollars and slot play? Looks like CET Diamond is same as MLife Gold. 15000 TC for diamond which is $75000 coin in. But with the bonus programs this can be had for $5000 coin in without a doubt. How does this compare to MLife. Can't find any real rules on Borgata web site.

BUT PLEASE answer Low and Slow's questions first. Her thread.

I feel like I earn comp at Borgata the same way as I always have. $1 comp dollar for every $100 coin in. As for tier I haven't quite figured this out, but in almost 4 months I have earned 30 tier credits.

I saw this on a site about MLife tier, for every $3 of Slot Play = 10 Tier Credits.

I like that MLife took over, I am taking advantage of a Beau Rivage junket in 2 weeks. I only paid $100 for 2 of us to fly, 4 nights comped, shuttle service to and from airport and $400 FP.

I think I may have answered your questions too when I responded above.

When you say, this can be had for $5000 coin in without a doubt, I'm assuming you're taking advantage of every opportunity for tier credit multipliers. I don't know how else one can do that. If what BB says is accurate, and I fully believe it is, on our last visit I earned almost $40 in Express Comps plus slot play plus "points." I finally got the answer that points are equal to one penny per point and can only be converted to slot play in batches of 500. So, back to the comps conversion, shouldn't $40 in comps equal $4000 coin in? So, if that's the case, I should be well on my way to getting where I want to be, but I must surely be doing something wrong because I never get offers for junkets. Nothing other than Sun-Thurs rooms, free comedy show tickets, entry into the slot tourneys or bingo, and minimal FSP. Ugggghhhh ....

Penguin, this is the first time I have ever received this offer and as of now I have 101,000 tier credits. I played exclusively at Borgata for years, never earning Black until this year. However I would usually earn 700-750 each year with Borgata.

I really worked to earn Black right before the conversion to MLife. I felt I would start getting Fri/Sat nights in standard rooms once I would get over 500 comp for the year and Fiore suites from Sun-Th.

I think we are getting a little less slot dollars now with MLife than we did with Borgata.

Well, the only thing I can think of is that once you do bump up in tiers, you start to earn at a higher rate. It still doesn't seem within reach for me at all. I'm sure it feels great to finally hit your goal. :)

$4000 coin in means that the casino on average will make $600 from you. Given that the slots are at 85% payback. Casino will comp you 30% ???of that $600. If your room cost $180, they won't give you more than that.

You kinda lost me, and therein probably lies the problem. :) It was 2 nights comped and about $40 in Express Comps plus points plus FSP that they gave. I'm okay with that (that's actually a good visit for me). What I'm struggling with is moving up in tiers. For me, it seems quite impossible; however, if I'm understanding him, Penguin is saying that moving up in status level can be had at CET properties for only about $5000 coin-in in a year's time and that this appears to be equivalent to what it takes to move up in MLife.

CET platinum takes 5000 tc. That's 25000 coin in per year. But they have bonuses like quest for rewards, or earning 500 tc in a day gets an additional 125 tc + other reward bonuses. So you don't need to do 25000 coin in.

Mlife pearl is 25000 tc.
Mlife is harder to figure. Most machines are $3 per pt. But not all. I've never fully figures it out.

Getting 2 nights plus fsp is good for $2000 coin in per day.
You probably aren't gonna get much more from casino though. They , on average , will make $300 per day from your play.
A portion of that $300 Is what they'll give back to you in comps.

Mlife isn't doing specialty slots in AC.

My understanding is $1 coin-in for 1 tier credit. So you don't accrue as fast as vegas where on non-specialty slots it's $3 coin-in per point. Each point equals 10 tier credits. So $3 coin-in is 10 tier credits on non-specialty.

I haven't played yet at borgata since the change without a promo day for slot dollars. $1 express comp for $100 coin-in is probably about right. That is a better accrual than in Vegas.

I think the slot dollars accrue slower under the new program.

I wish when I coin in $4000 they always only make $600 from me! That is an average if the slot(s) are paying, no? I've lost $1000 cash at times and only earned $30 comp, all depends on the day.

Well a slot that has a 15% hold, on average, will hold $600 after $4000 is played through. Time played is also a factor in comps. Variance may mean you lose $4000 , lose $600 or win $10000.

DK528, I haven't tried to figure out how the tier credits accrue yet, I just know that I have earned about 33,000 tier since June. I feel we are still earning $1 comp/express comp dollar for every $100 coined in and it seems like at Gold I am getting 40% of my comp earned in slot dollars where we previously got half back.

I am curious to see how much I will earn in Biloxi in 2 weeks.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI am not 100% sure of the program at the Borgata either. If it is 1 tier per $100 coin in, it must be the case because when I checked our MLife account before starting to play on Tuesday, and then again yesterday morning, we had accrued a little over 11k tiers, and a little over $21k coin in. That would appear to be 1,100 or so points, then that times 10 would equal 11k tiers. Plus with Platinum getting the 30% bonus is how we earned the $144 in express comps.

In Vegas on regular slots, and not the specialties, $11k coin in would get you around 37k tier credits. But the express comps would only be around $50. That is if my math is correct. I just woke up, so my brain is not at 100% yet.

So at this point I see Borgata giving 1 tier credit per $1 coin in on slots. To reach Gold Level that would mean $75000 coin in or using 15% hold a cost of $11250 to reach Gold. My question is::: does Borgata ever run bonus tier credit promotions? This would then lower the cost of reaching Gold Level.

I ask this because the main use of Diamond Level at CET for us is access to Diamond Lounges and Free Valet Parking. Coin in per day (the old ADT) governs room and food comps and free play.

Good thread so far.

Borgata never has days where you can earn additional tier credits. They will have promotions where you can earn additional slot dollars but not tier credits.
