View Full Version : Soooo About This Legal Recreational Weed!

So I have been doing a lot of research on the benefits of medical marijuana for neuropathy. I've heard from several other AMN patients and the benefits seem promising. Medical marijuana will be available in early 2018 in PA, but I heard about the legal availability of recreational marijuana in Vegas. There is a dispensary north on the strip past Circus Circus.

FAQ..

Am I allowed to consume in public?

No. Nevada law requires that you consume recreational marijuana in private residences ONLY. Public consumption (ex. hotels, casinos, sidewalks, the inside of vehicles) is not permitted.

What are us poor tourists supposed to do?!

Something tells me that the balcony rooms at the Cosmo are more popular than ever. What, are they going to see you on the 50th floor from the strip?

I've never tried it but have friends who use it medicinally and it has helped them with their medical issues (which vary).

I was surprised to not smell it at Cosmo my last trip. I don't recall whether I smelled it in May but I also wasn't on my balcony much bc of the moths.

More on the users in PA. The cops (at least where I am) seem to be looking the other way with the "casual," i.e., potential medical user and low-volume supplier due to the changes that are coming, and also because they have their hands full with the heroin epidemic. Mind you, it's a ginormous concern for us since it's almost impossible to tell who is using and who is not at the same time as we're trying to monitor alcohol intake.

Although the law in Nevada says it can only be consumed in your residence, I can assure you people are smoking it everywhere. My non smoking room at PH smelled as though a family of skunks were living there, HHH. People were actually smoking it on the casino floor! It seemed to be everywhere.

Maybe try the edibles first since your a non smoker. Weed today if very potent, HHH

Medical marijuana has been legal here in NY for certain medical conditions. Must get registered and be prescribed by Drs that are licensed in the program. My daughters friend has MS was precscribed in a pill form for her pain by Dr. I also believe if it can help with medical condition, it should be available.

Buy the candy Ken, that way you don't have the smoke issue.

I think you can get medicinal MJ in Texas, but only for seizure disorders.

I've read that LV or maybe just the Strip is talking about making it legal in public. I can see why the hotels might not be so anxious to allow it, but perhaps soon "smoking room" will have a new meaning.

You might also try topical if your neuropathy is in your feet or hands. I have some salve that worked great when my back was hurting from hefting big trash bags full of heavy stuff at my parents' house. It doesn't smell like skunk, either, more like chamomile.

Don’t do edibles first. Many times you don’t know how potent it is and you might eat too much. I suggest the vape version.

You know what, I didn't as I never got down to that end of the strip to the dispensary I found. It doesn't seem like they have one mid-strip. Since I was recovering from that food poisoning too, I was kind of skiddish to try it. Legal medical marijuana comes in 2018 in PA. My doctor doesn't think it will help, unless I start having leg spasms which is eventually come with the disease. I should have in Reno as there was a big dispensary right next to Harrah's. I'll be back next Thanksgiving, maybe then!

There is a difference between the weed categories. Medical is just that...medical. It usually contains higher THC and CBD percentages. While you get high AF...the CBD is the part that actually helps with medical conditions. The high THC may actually give a false sense of the drug actually helping your condition. Kind of like a placebo. Exit the THC and the CBD may overtime help relieve symptoms. Weed does not cure any ailment.

A lot of pot smokers that do rec weed don't prefer medical weed. Usually the setting is a chill environment where they take multiple draws to enjoy the moment. With medical, the THC is so strong, one to two hits and your done. Its a misinformed activity.

If you want to try for your condition, then beware of what you are buying. Mids are the rec smokers while highs tend to be medical. A lot of these people think oh wow yes weed!! but in actuality they tend waste the product or way over do it not knowing the types of weed they smoke.

If you rather stay sober and not be high all the time just to test for your condition, then CBD oil or other forms is the way to go. I don't think you need the THC component.

My source...my nephew owns a grower facility in Washington.
