Have to get two tables with chairs an 11 drawer dresser done in the next few days, plus tomorrow will be getting the night stands and two big dressers as show above a few posts out on the floor. We have a big weekend. Yesterday was profitable so need to roll with it. Only one of my table left on the floor and it has only been here since Thursday :)

Just got a new phone and decided to do a clean install where nothing brought forward from the old phone. Installed the tapatalk app and I instantly wondered if I had messed things up. Then I went in and read the recent reviews of the app - many are posting negative reviews because of the ad bombardment and upgrade/vip spam - making the app almost unusable. Also, if you don't upgrade to vip, tapatalk limits not only the number, but also the quality (mega pixels) of the photos you post.

Ipad tapatalk, also with massive ads. I am now just using Joker's website on phone and ipad. The website on these devices is unusual, but in time it will be familiar.

CeCe, those pieces seem to really sell quickly.

The table top itself is two
Inches and the skirt is about two inches.. so you are guessing correctly. I have two benches and then two end chairs. It has two leafs also.

I usually go to the shop a few hours each night after my regular job. Lacy normally gets the items on the floor. Today she is picking up a table I stripped in my garage, and will sand and stain the top. And paint the legs to go with the chairs. Should be beautiful.

Lacy made the formal announcement last night she is closing the big shop.. and we are going back to the small shop. Open two weekends a month. Less stress keeping the big shop stocked.

Thank you! I am going to pair it up with Two king heavy benches I have.. and then two chairs in the end. It has brass at the bottom of the legs.. and is such a beautiful unique piece. Got it for 125... can you believe it!!!

Worked more on this tonight.. my hands are sore, the heat gun and sharp veneer make my hands a mess. foamy.. I asked Lacy about the airplane stripper.. the landlords won’t allow it as people live upstairs.

Texture sandpaper over everything and it should be ready to stain!

Today progress, 1st stain and now a darker stain is drying on it.

So many layers on this top, found a metal tag on the leg that say us post 706. Might have been a sorting table at some time.

The next darker stain evens out the discoloration.

Thank you so much! I enjoy it and I have been scouring the sales for items for my new home. My boss and friend from my PT gig has told me to slow my roll until we can get in and see what the space is. So for now I have a Pinterest page full of ideas.

This will be on the floor for the weekend and will be my most expensive set ever. Should be for all the hours I have worked on it :)

Measure for shiplap in master and the sides of the fireplace.

I love the table color, and thank you for the great idea for displaying the bottles. I have a collection of very old bottles that my father-in-law found at construction sites in Virginia back in the day, and I rescued them from the basement when we cleared out the family homestead. They're still in the shipping box because I couldn't figure out how to display them (plus the thought of dusting them on a regular basis was a deterrent). I love your idea of grouping them in a wire holder!

It has been ages, but I was back in the shop yesterday. Lacy was able to open on Friday and Saturday for 4 hours by appointment. People came out to Support her and I worked the register on Saturday. Both big tables that were in the shop sold.

Already sanded down the top with leaf and have that stained. The base and legs will be a beautiful dark grey. Hope to work on those tonight.

Also bought a great old farm table that I will clean up.. I want that base to be white.. it is a gorgeous piece.

Feels good to be working on some other things. I have missed this part of my life :)

Split it apart, added legs, patched up..

And now sanded (naked legs) painting Dark Grey and leaving the legs Naked. Distress, poly and new knobs.. and the shop is open this weekend!

Next day was more sanding distress, poly and put knobs on. I noticed a wobble and worked on fixing that before I left last night. Shop is open this weekend.. hope they sell quickly.

i have done that.. let me look through my photos. I had some broyhill that i painted.

I would use a milk paint over a chalk paint. Changing up the color, and changing out the hardware will give you a whole new look with out spending a ton of money.

I’m not set on any particular color, if you have a suggestion of a color that would come out best I’m up for a suggestion.

Here’s one of the problems I may encounter, I removed the ugly gold trim from the headboard several years ago and I think it will easily come off of the mirror too, just not sure how I’ll get it off of the dresser and night stands?

I think the grey is a good color.. accentuate the gold with updates... gold handles, distressing the edges of the drawers and edges of the furniture. Like this

Then pick an accent color, Navy, white or a black..

And bring some accents with those colors. Then add some greens and woods or metals for texture.

Your furniture is more mid century modern.. so I would work within that.

Another option would be to change out the headboard with the gold, and then add the gold accents. Would change your room drastically.

Thanks for your ideas! I used to have more white on the bed with accent blanket pillows, like your one picture, now the little black pug sleeps with us so I have been buying darker sheets.

Thanks for your ideas, maybe I’ll just try new curtains and some different accents in the room. My furniture is still like new and made so well, I would hate to just get rid of it but I do feel like it screams 1987!

You should try putting pulls on your nightstand first, see how you like it. Having the pulls will make it lool less 80’s like.. as it will pull your eye away from the edges towards the center.

I think the toxic works better, especially the extra strength but I also remember skin burns and getting woozy…if they still make the non toxic white gel that worked ok, I found covering it with toweling or something kept it from drying out and gave it more time to work. Aircraft stripper is the best but will give you nerve damage. They came out with a new one but it sucks but remember only brush One Direction.

A little more sanding to try and get the red tone out.. and the sides need more, then clean and bleach again. Hope to poly sunday and get it back in the house.

My fall update and refresh is done! Lacy came over and gave me the queen treatment.

I love how she layers textures and can take something i have and make it look so different.

I truly LOVE my home!
