I will keep it simple, but here is an example of a 90% confidence interval on a 9/6 Jacks or better Video Poker played mathematically perfectly. The same can be said for slot play although at a much lower payback range, substituting number of spins for number of hands. So this gives you an example of why we can have wild swings and how you would really need about 1,000,000 hand/spins to approach any advertised "payback" range... Slotspert :love-struck:

Number of Hands.... Payback intervals
1,000.....................76.5%-122.6%
10,000...................92.3%-106.8%
100,000................. 97.2%-101.8%
1,000,000.............. 98.8%-100.3%
10,000,000............. 99.3%-99.8%
100,000,000........... 99.5%-99.6%
1,000,000,000......... 99.5%-99.6%

P.S. For your brain's comfort, slots spins are always "played" perfectly whereas video poker hands are usually not.

It is possible to play as many as 1,200 hands per hour – and even more – while still playing perfect strategy. However, it is difficult to keep such a blistering pace for very long and maintain perfect play.

At 1,200 hands per hour you are playing 20 hands per minute – one hand every three seconds. In those three seconds you have to deal, examine the cards dealt, select cards the cards you decide to hold and hit the Draw button.

This is a scorching pace to maintain, but it can be done for two or more hours if one is rested and alert. The mechanics generally seldom cause errors, but the accuracy of analyzing the hands dealt and determining the best cards to hold tends to deteriorate over time.

Still at 1200 hands per hour, it will take you over 833 hours (about 35 non stop days), to approach the 1,000,000! Let me know when you have accomplished this :chuncky:
