It was my intention to post some pictures, highlights and videos from our (hubby's and mine) trip to Reno NV this past week but none of that seems important now. A dear friend of ours of more than a quarter century was found the night before we left unresponsive and barely breathing by mutual friends who were able to convince the police to break his front door down. Since that time all tests show nothing.....nothing. His family who flew in from Hawaii while we were gone have made the decision today to pull all the life support for him tomorrow as the doctors say there is no hope at all. I still don't know what what happened the night he passed out other than the dr's said he did have the flu but also said he had been warned several years ago that he was pre-diabetic but didn't take steps to alter his diet etc. A heart attack, a stroke, an embolism? I guess the cause is for now insignificant. More than likely Frank will pass away after life support is taken off. But I DO believe in miracles and prayer so if you have a moment to spare please say one for him and his family. It could make all the difference, thank you!

Thank you all for your prayers.....Frank's family decided to not pull life support today as they didn't realize initially that today was Valentine's Day and said they did not want this day to be remembered in a negative way. So they will do it tomorrow instead. One test did show that he had a myocardial infarction at some point and that coupled with the flu more than likely was the cause of his passing out initially which led to the coma which he is still in. He is still showing no response to anything or any test as of this moment. I would like to tell you though that Frank loved to play the slots and played them here in our home state (Oregon) as well as taking periodic trips to Vegas where he would meet up with his folks from Hawaii. His mother right now is back home in Hawaii having undergone recent heart surgery but his dad, sis and brother are by his side taking shifts continiously and they along with the hospital staff are doing everything possible to make sure he is cared for. I know the outcome most likely will not be good once life support is taken away but I am comforted in knowing that he is beyond any pain and has his loved ones by his side no matter what happens. Thank you again everyone for all your thoughts and prayers....your compassion is truly appreciated:)
I am so sorry to read this. I still believe there can be a miracle

For all of you who have expressed hope, prayers and concern I again thank you so very very much. Frank passed yesterday shortly before 5 pm pacific time after life support was discontinued. His best friend posted the following to all Frank's friends and family, which although sad gave all of us who have known him for years much comfort.
"Yesterday I lost my dearest friend.....Frank will soon take his final journey to his home state of Hawaii where he will be laid to rest. As he passed he was surrounded by his loving family whom over the past few days I have laughed with, cried with and shared stories with. I will always look back at our 37 year friendship with the joy and good times and bad times we have shared. Rest in peace my brother, rest in peace"
