I have finally started transferring old home movies from film, VHS, etc and starting to try and edit them. I am using Adobe Premier Elements 14 and finding it confusing at this point.

So, since I know we have some awesome Jokers that are editing content for their Youtube channels, what software do you use and how long did it take you to get comfortable using it?

Darlene, we use PowerDirector. It came with our computer, lol! It's really easy to use and YouTube has great tutorials on it too. If you have a Mac, iMovie is really easy and your local Apple Store might offer free intro classes.
Good luck!

I have heard Adobe Premier can be a doozy! I use iMovie on Mac, which like Kathy mentioned is user friendly. I think Windows removed the built in Windows Movie Maker in newer versions, which was similar as far as ease of use comes.

I don't use it, didn't know I had it, it's all Greek to me but my Windows 10 has Movie Maker on it, so it still is there.

I tried doing some thing similar with all my cassettes and records in to my pc's hard drive.. but its a real booger bear because everything is done in real time (no short cuts ) plus i have to cut all the songs apart after so that the cd copy duz not recognize it as one long song . good luck with your project ive never tried that before so it will be interesting in hearing how it all comes out .
