Sat down to play one of my favorite games on a bank of 4. Lady next to me is betting pretty heavily and getting some nice hits. She turns to me and says, "I just won a lot of money on that machine." She went on to say, just so you know because I would feel bad if you put a lot of money in and I didn't tell you. I appreciated the comment, kinda. Fortunately for me, I'm still a "hopper" and not prone to dumping tons of money into any one game thinking that if I just stick it out, it's bound to hit, and I told her that. I played as I normally would for another little while and then moved on. I would have done that regardless.

But, what would you do in that situation?????

I'm with you Denise, still a hopper here...I don't have the patience to sit and wait for it to come around!

I'll let my dear husband BuccoBalls21 chime in on this one. He has a very strong opinion on when this happens [emoji23]

Well, I know that and you know that, but no sense trying to tell HER that. I guess what I'm wondering is, even though we know that to be the case, would that get in your head????

Probably not, I'd tell her she is full of shit and cash out haha

Hahaha! I was secretly hoping for a monster of a hit, in which I would let the coin fountain play out until the end, and then hit the cash out button. :devilish:

I think maybe she meant well in telling you about the machine. I still would have played the machine trying to prove her wrong.

Hate it when people say that! I always think they want to get back on it soon so are trying to persuade others HHH Depends on how bad I wanted to play it if not bad I would have left just to get away from her!

I would have sweetly and innocently asked her "Why are you still playing if you won so much? Take your money home, you dumb bitch."

I would have played it long enough to see how it plays anyway. I am a hopper too. I rarely put in more than $20 in a machine unless it seems to be playing well. Probably would have told her "thanks that means it's going to win again". I agree she meant well I'm sure, but I hate too when people push their "weird casino rituals" on me. had a guy the other day who stood behind me insisting that I rub the screen in the bonus so I would win more.

I would just say “good for you” and ignore her.

My story goes like this. I was playing a machine on the end of a row. A lady walk by asked how it was going, politely told her holding my own. She then started with , I just played that and, then I stopped her and politely said I did not want to know. She did this 3 or 4 times. Me stopping her each time mid sentence. She finally said I was rude and and at that point I asked what the f### do you not understand that I don't want to know what this machine did before I got here. She walked off one unhappy camper.

I once was playing at a slot next to some ladies. Minor chit chat. Cold slot so i left. I went a distance away. Few minutes later one of the ladies finds me and tells me that the machine i was playing on hit a jackpot. WTF. i said, why would you think i wanted to know that?

Yea, I would have just said "Wow, congratulations!" and kept on playing.

Back in the 90's, my friend and I had taken the shuttle to the Gold Coast from the Strip, specifically to sign up, get free play and play their massive amount of VP machines.
We were just about to sit down and start playing when this lady comes up to us and states "Ya may as well turn around and go home, these machines aint payin' today!" Oh, okay! Ha Ha!

I would probably say, "Good, I hope I do too," or "Nice -- you warmed it up for me," and leave it at that.

If I win something good on a slot, I hit the button one more time to get the win off so people will not know something won off it and then I change machines. Sometimes I leave the win on if the credits in the machine is at 200.21 for example, so that I can easily get cash for it without all those 1's and extra change. I have also seen machines win back to back to back before with one person on, then another person, then another. A machine can stay hot for a long time or a machine can stay cold for a long time before hitting. One thing I do not like is when someone loses just about all their credits and leaves credits in the machine. I consider that credit bad luck. I cash it out and set it aside so the machine knows its a new player.

What I hate is when you sit down at a machine and the person next to you says "I just got off that machine, it's not paying anything" and then you get something big and they tell you "you know, part of that is mine, I put a lot of money in that machine and it took it all", this happens more than you think. I got so pissed one time because I had been on a losing streak and this was my first really good hit and it just took the shine right off it. I'm not a very confrontational person unless I get really riled up, but this time was an exception. I thanked her for her contribution to my new refrigerator and asked her what other machines she had dumped money in to so I could go and play them and try my luck. She was not receptive to my sarcasm and stormed off. Win/win for me; got to play a hot machine and got to do it in peace.
