Here is article from Seven Stars Newsletter. Looks like this is definitely going to happen one way or another. I read a fuller article posted on SF. Didn't bother going to NY Post web site.

I read the NY Post article, didn’t offer too much detail other than reference Tillman and El Dorado as potential suitors, and that Carl Icahn is pushing the sale.
Vital Vegas is following the gossip, and I’m following their updates lol.
I hope for the best for the CET casinos and hosts that I’ve enjoyed over the years.

I would be ok with Golden Nugget or Eldorado...Just not MGM, Golden Nugget would give me a place to stay Downtown Vegas and Eldorado would hopefully open up the isle in the Quad Cities more

Even though I played GN for years, the past couple they (HE - Tillman) has been shaking things up and not to the players or employees advantage. Let go of a lot of long time employees, some I am friends with still.

I feel like most if not all casinos have tightened up some . ether by changing things in the casino its self or not offering as much Fp or other perks ,eliminating job positions ,stores or restaurants . outside looking in it appears to me to be a tough industry for all of them .

Imho it would run off a lot of customers probably into the arms of Boyds or penn national .
I'm not a big fan of GN either. I never do well at any of their casinos, and it kind of reminds me of CET's way of doing things. I get great freeplay, comps and offers relative to my play amounts, but feel like their casinos are tighter than the others.
I still think that CET will get split up into 2-3 companies. Probably a split of some to GN, some to El Dorado, and maybe a couple get sold off to others, like the rumor that another company is looking at buying PH separately.

I'm assuming it will take months for anything to change once a path forward is announced. Any sudden moves will scare away big fish.

If they sell it will be complicated. If it goes to El Dorado then gaming commissions will most likely make either party sell some casinos to a third party. If goes to GN then not as complicated but worse for us. In either case we do not expect the same type of comps that CET provides. Planning to spend down or cash in our remaining RCs. Started to look at MLife system, but don't believe it is as friendly user as CET. But this will take some time. Maybe just sell off some poorer properties like RIO. Ballys has low revenue in AC compared to Harrahs and Caesars. Of course Borgata is king. Our personal problem is that CET is perfect fit for our low play, but with access to good perks.

Yeah Penguin we were discussing that exact same thing yesterday. We've scheduled vacations around getting free rooms anywhere we can fly or drive to. We'd rather not see it broken up, it works great for us the way it is.
No matter what happens we'll probably not see much change for about 2 years.
if a deal happens, we won't see it close until late this year or early next year. Then any sort of revamp of the rewards system won't be for another year at least. Eldorado has owned Tropicana since October and they haven't changed anything yet and I haven't even seen a plan to create a single card system throughout the company as of now.
Even the other mergers recently like Penn/Ameristar, Golden Gaming's acquisitions have taken over a year before they even started to merge players systems. Boyd bought the Cannery Casinos and two years later still haven't even brought them into B Connected even though they plan to.
My guess is whoever ends up with Caesars will keep the Caesar's Rewards program being its the largest and best known one nationally and roll it out to their other properties, not the other way around. I'm sure there will be a few changes but it won't go away as we know it.
It’s cuz I got Diamond and mooch all the benefits they can’t afford it anymore!

Looks like it may be done....
EW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. casino operator Eldorado Resorts Inc has agreed to merge with Caesars Entertainment Corp in a cash and stock deal that values its peer at about $18 billion including debt, people familiar with the matter said on Sunday.
The agreement comes three months after Reuters reported that Caesars had agreed to give Eldorado access to its books under pressure from billionaire investor Carl Icahn, who earlier this year was awarded seats on Caesars’ board.
The deal, which is expected to be announced on Monday, values Caesars at close to $13 a share, according to the sources. The combined company's ownership would be split roughly between Eldorado and Caesars shareholders, the sources said.
The sources asked not to be identified because the matter is confidential. An Eldorado spokesman said the company did not comment on rumors or speculation. Caesars did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The combination of the two companies would create a serious competitor to larger casino industry players, such as Las Vegas Sands Corp, Wynn Resorts Ltd and MGM Resorts International.
Caesars' shares closed on Friday at $9.99. The company, which emerged from bankruptcy in 2017, operates casinos with the Harrah's and Horseshoe brands. It had 53 properties in 14 U.S. states and five countries outside the United States at the end of December.
Eldorado has a market value of $4 billion. It also had long-term debt at the end of March of $3.1 billion. It owns and operates 26 properties in 12 U.S. states.

Well we will see how it goes
This is exactly what I was just reading about. Some say Rio and Planet Hollywood would be sold, and not part of the new company. Sort of sad if true because even though the Ho is not the nicest resort, I pretty much like everything about it. But I guess time will tell.

So does this mean that these properties will no longer by Caesar's? It shouldn't affect the August M&G for those staying at Harrah's as the deal isn't suppose to close until beginning of next year.
Eldorado said Monday that it’s also reached a real estate agreement with VICI Properties Inc. in which VICI will acquire the real estate associated with Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, Harrah’s Laughlin Hotel & Casino, and Harrah’s New Orleans Hotel & Casino for approximately $1.8 billion. Other terms of the deal include VICI being given right of first refusals for whole asset sale or sale-leaseback transactions on two Las Vegas Strip properties and the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore.
Or not? Found this info on VICI
https://viciproperties.com/
Vici Properties is a real estate investment trust specializing in casino properties, based in New York City. It was formed in 2017 as a spin-off from Caesars Entertainment Corporation. It owns 23 casinos, hotels and racetracks and 4 golf courses throughout the United States

VICI owns 20 CET properties. The list is here https://viciproperties.com/properties/casino-resorts/
I would think that most of these properties will stay with the combined company (to be called Caesars). VICI has already said that they will make a new master agreement with the combined company regarding the properties they own and lease out to CET. Of course the big issue will be a state level with gambling commissions. One thing, I have never heard people here talk about how much better Eldorado facilities are when compared to a CET property in the same location. Therefore I think any conflicts would be settle with sales of Eldorado properties if needed. No real word on the Native American casinos managed by CET (Harrahs). Also believe that the Windsor contract is up in a short time as Ontario owns the casino.
Right now we are thinking this is okay news for us especially if they keep the Caesars Player Reward program and integrate it into Eldorado properties. Of course what changes they make to the program regarding "free" or low cost tier credits may be something to look at in the future. Eldorado management will get the expected financial savings one way or another. Lean operation.
