Mom and I have booked a cruise next February on Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas. It is the second largest cruise ship in the world. Ports are St. Maarten, Coco Cay and San Juan PR, leaving from Port Canaveral. I've never been on a cruise ship this large, so if anyone has any experiences, I would love to hear about it. Thanks.

I’m just booked for the same ports on a MSC cruise this September out of Miami. I haven’t cruised in 20 years. I’ll be following along to see if anyone has any interesting info on these ports.

I went on my first cruise last year and had so much fun! I was on the Carnival Breeze. Hoping to start going on more. I’d like to try different cruise lines and ship sizes.

I've been on Oasis and Allure and actually found they felt less crowded except for the elevators at busy times. If you reserve your shows ect ahead of boarding you should find it no more crowded than any other at least thats my experience on the other big RCI ships. I go right to the Park cafe on boarding rather than buffet too...

I was doing some cruise research just last week and checked out those Royal Caribbean behemoths. I’ll bet that is going to be one fun trip!

I’m sure ChrisD will chime in however I know she likes the smaller ships. We’ve been on NCL Escape and are booked on NCL Encore next May. We like the mega ships, there is a lot to do, it’s like a city on the sea. I know I’ve heard of some elevator complaints too but have never seen it. If you enjoy the pool area on sea days, I recommend getting there as soon as you get up.

Enjoy, I keep saying we are going to try Royal but my casino offers from NCL are hard to pass up.

I did a cruise on NCL Bliss last year, huge new ship. My opinion, it was too big. We stayed up in the Haven - 18th floor, and it was a haul to get down to the food options and casino. We are big walkers, but this was a bit much. The elevators were always packed, and even the speciality dining places felt very cramped.

That was my experience, and for our next cruise in 2020 - we went back to a smaller ship - NCL Jewel for an Alaskan cruise.

Have a great time!
