I had a change of heart and thought that since Encore Boston Harbor is new to all of us, it might be good to start a thread that has some information and to share experiences. I was hoping to have something Worthy of a trip report but that didn’t happen. So I guess this is as good a place as any to post our experience.

Thelma, Jacie, Lamie and I decided we wanted to go to Encore Boston Harbor. So last night we had a pajama party at Thelma’s. We used that time to do some planning for upcoming cruises.

After a very short sleep, we got up early to head for the casino. Of course a Dunkin’ Donuts run was mandatory

The casino is only about a half hour from Thelma's so we were there by about 5:45. The parking garage was fairly empty as was the casino. We were greeted immediately by a very sweet young man who took a picture for us.

The property is beautiful, and obviously immaculate. We took a quick walk around, but were too distracted by the pretty lights to stay focused on checking things out. Well, we all took one hell of a beating the first couple hours. I did not hit a single bonus before having to take the walk of shame, soon followed by the rest of the crew. Luckily after my Walkashame I was able to play on $100 for the next 2 1/2 hours and cashed out at a whopping 72 bucks.

It was low tide and cloudy so the view of the water was not terribly impressive but this is where the water taxi comes in from Rowe’s wharf in Boston. I iMagine at high Tide on a sunny day it would be much prettier.

There are some areas outside to smoke, and one of them is on a covered patio with four chairs. It’s a much better environment than MGM in Springfield. They do comp drinks but not until 8 AM, and I’m not sure what time they stop serving although I seem to remember an article that said they got a variance of some sort to serve until 4 AM but I could be crazy about that. Drink service was great although we were only drinking coffee and water.

As you can see it is very reminiscent of Wynn in Vegas. The service seems every bit as good and time will tell how it does. I apologize for not taking more pictures. Because it really is a lovely property but I have slot ADD and was unable to fulfill my own mission.

I played that one in honor of Ida’s new grand puppy, so thank you Libby, short for liberty!

Stupid scarabs actually gave me a decent hit on my first set of 10 spends. Unfortunately the next ones went poorly as is typical. But we all had fun playing this one together.


We left around 10:45 with our tails between our legs. We stopped for lunch at the new bridge café in Chelsea which is renowned for its steak tips. The place is a bit of a dive, but the food is damn good. We all had the steak tips and they were fabulous.

We dropped the girls off at Thelma’s and I got home around two. Now I have my fat ass in my recliner and with any luck I will doze off within 30 minutes.

It was a ghost town. I am thinking it gets busy on the weekend, but not so much during the day on weekends.

üst want to say, it probably wasn't any tighter than most places I go. We all gravitate toward high volatility machines, and we all know how that can turn out! I did best on machines I have never seen before, which is typical for me. I will only be low rolling in the future. Like, really low rolling.

Such a crummy feeling when the slots are not being kind, but this was a great report and the property does look beautiful.

Ooo very tight! Hope you do at least get to take advantage of the offer to soak up some of what you left on your first visit. Looking forward to more reviews on the food and hotel. (Which they said is almost identical to Vegas)

Looks like a Tier Match Promotion. Also, from what I saw on VF, you can't use your Vegas red card at Boston.

I visited today. The place was gorgeous but placed in a bad location. Traffic today was not bad but weekdays would be impossible.

The food was way overpriced except Dunkin. I can eat that every day on my way to work if I wanted to, I don't.

The machines were new and varied. I did not see old familiar ones. They seemed tight. I got 190 points play and only got 8 comp dollars one of which was taken instead of paying $22 for parking.

Foxwoods here I come; back to decent comps, free rooms, free parking and far less trafic and no Everett congestion to deal with.
