Got a call from my host last night. He just wanted to touch base and inform me on a few changes when they reopen.

He is thinking June 1st and slot players will be seated at machines with two empty seats between each player. The two machines between them will be turned off.

Table games will only allow 3 players per table.

This will be the new norm until there is a vaccine.

.Just thought you all might be interested

If that is the case I may have to say my gambling is done for the year. Those conditions would not appeal to me at all. I know that the spread has to be stopped, and every step needs to be taken for it to happen. But I could not see enjoying myself like that.

With my luck they'd turn off OBJ and WWII and leave on Tahiti Magic or something.

I hear you buddy. I always sit next to Sharon but I am guessing with two empty seats between us/ we will only have to talk a little louder. Plus with so many experts working on it, a vaccine is probably that not far away.

zeus, is it because the social part of gambling attracts you as much as the actual gambling? I don't know that I would like the "atmosphere," but as long as everything else ere the same, I think I would be okay with it. I'm not sure I would be okay in a place as small as HNKC. It would have to be a bigger casino.

It would have to be a bigger casino. The social part of it is a big piece of it, but when I am in a casino I love being pretty much carefree. The part of two slots being turned off would be a huge factor to my enjoyment because like Trey said the slots I like to play would have a good chance of being turned off. And if you have a typical size crowd with only one-third of the slots turned on, it would not make for a good experience. On Friday and Saturday nights at Cherokee you can hardly find an open slot as it is. Try finding one in those conditions. And yes, I like to sit beside of Allen and play each trip. It may be a total of an hour during an entire trip, but I enjoy that time.

I agree with you, don't think I would want to go to casino with restrictions on playing machines with distance thing.

They did that at a couple of casinos here the week before they closed. It’s was more like every other machine was off because say it was a row of 4 slots the two in the middle would be off and the two end games were on. Also the slots that were on the ends that has none on either side were still on so in reality it was more like 40% of the games were turned off.

Wasn’t really that bad because by that point so maybe people started staying home the casinos weren’t too busy anyway so no issues finding stuff to play

I also think that with all this downtime they are going to get creative with slot floor layouts and you’ll see some unusual layouts done to maximize the amount of games they can have on. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see some where they close their buffets down, or even poker rooms or the event spaces for a while and you’ll see slots in those areas spaced 6 feet apart. I drove past a couple of closed casinos recently and was surprised how many cars were parked in the employee lots so they are in there doing something.

The casinos are itching to be open and make money as fast as possible so they’ll make it work. Heck I don’t really like playing super close next to people anyway if I can avoid it so maybe it could be enjoyable.

All I know is a picked a bad year to become fake Diamond Kenny, yikes! I also vote we remove those machines and put them in the hall or the pool area. We want them all on and 6 ft apart. We will travel to find them!

When you found out they hide the good machines (6 feet apart) in the diamond lounge, it will be all worth it !

Well I guarantee if they would social distance machines in that long ass hallway from the lobby to the casino they wouldn't have to shut any down! [emoji23]

Edith called to say Hello! It was nice of her to reach out. When all is done, I would love to head down to KC for a weekend and meet up with Laurie and foamy for some drinks and Joker laughter!

Sent from my SM-G955U using TapatalkYeah definitely would sound like a real pain in the ass and more of a job in process to lose money in a slot machine then try to win some what happens if your favorite machines are the ones turned off definitely have no desire to go if that's how it's going to be.

I will take any damned thing I can get. After seeing CPT’s friend winning $60,000.00 on that scratch off, I had a dream last night that I won $60,000.00 on a slot machine. I might be in the early stages of slot withdrawal.

I got the 100 tier today and it was added immediately.

Edith called me last week to wish me birthday greetings and check if we were healthy. I only earned 400 tier in KC super bowl meet so I was surprised.

I agree that does not sound fun at all. Like you said it’s hard enough in some places to get on machines as it is. Unless they rearrange it to put the “off” machines as games no one really plays. They would probably leave the machines with the worst payback turned on.

Odds are tight enough as it is . then to lose half of the machine selection . certainly not worth the price of a plane ticket .... my thought are ill just wait till Coushatta opens back up and if its the same .. try to play at night while everyone's sleeping .

I still have my reservation for late May... hoping things work out as I love Harrah’s KC. If this date doesn’t work, I so hope Labor Day weekend will be an option.

Tentatively I have LV plans for June and August. But I really want to go back to KC.

KC has become one of my favorite destinations and I hope that they are able to open soon and that the planned social distancing of the machines is only a temporary thing. Edith has left me a few messages, but I haven't talked to her yet. She is such a sweetheart and one of the reasons I love KC.

Although the longer I am out of the casinos and starting new hobbies, the less I miss the slot action. I do miss all you Joker peeps, but will have to wait and see when things start getting back on track if the gambling bugs bites me again.

We slack off every year when camping starts so I bet you will get back on the horse

I like your ideas. Take away the buffets, etc, and put machines in there to space them out. My local is so small and so crowded, you can barely get into a seat without knocking the person next to you. I envisioned myself going back the other day and remembered how quickly I can lose money. I am missing Vegas more than my local which I never thought I would say.
