Truthfully, what I read doesn't sound all that bad as it mainly involves relaxing in your vehicle until it's time to go in. Then a quick temperature check and a mask, and you are good to go. I wish they had said more about what to expect once you are inside. 50% occupancy is all fine and good, but how many machines are running? How are they keeping people safe once inside, other than relying on masks?

I just hope people with underlying health issues or our older population heed the warnings to stay sheltered. IMO, that's where the problems will return as far as hospitalization and deaths. The key is to keep these numbers down.

That’s so true! Last night when I was getting take out there was a little old lady on oxygen waiting. It was a long wait!! So after a while I told her I was going to speak to management for her about expediting her order since she was high risk. She thanked me, but declined my offer. She said she was having fun and didn’t get out with people much!

Harrah's Ak-Chin opening Friday morning now too. Now I have choices this weekend!!!

Here's the details- no masks required, no buffet, no Laurel Lounge either, no bingo and no poker. It sounds like all slots will be on though- just spaced out.

HARRAH’S AK-CHIN CASINO TO RE-OPEN MAY 15, SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOLS IN PLACE
(MARICOPA, Ariz. – May 8, 2020) – The Ak-Chin Tribal Council has approved the re-opening of Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, effective 9 am on Friday, May 15, 2020.

Harrah’s management has put in place a variety of social distancing measures for the health and safety of casino guests and employees. These include:

The casino floor will be open with slot machine banks arranged to allow for proper social distancing and with limited seating at Blackjack tables. The Poker Room, Keno and BINGO will not be open at this time.
Hand-sanitizing stations throughout the casino floor, masks for all employees and increased cleaning service in all common areas and throughout the back of the house.
Dunkin Donuts[emoji2400], Copper Cactus, Chop Block & Brew, and Agaves will be open for food/beverage service, with social distancing protocols in place. The Buffet, Oak & Fork and Laurel Lounge will not be open at this time.
Based on the number of guest reservations, the resort and tower guestrooms will also open on May 15 for stays beginning that evening.
Additionally, The Events Center at Harrah’s Ak-Chin, including all events and conference, Valet and Spa and Fitness Center will remain closed at this time.

“Over the past several weeks the Tribal Council, along with Caesars management, have been monitoring the situation here in Arizona and across the country, making sure we had the best and most accurate information needed to re-open the casino,” said Robert Livingston, general manager of Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. “We look forward to welcoming back our casino guests in the coming days.”



Also saw Gila River casinos opening Friday now so 5 of the 8 casinos near me will be open already and all will feel pretty normal with their plans.

The indefinite shutdown of Atlantic City casinos will almost certainly cost the industry what could have been a lucrative Memorial Day weekend near the end of this month.

As of the start of this week, the majority of the city’s nine casino websites weren’t taking reservations for before June 1 — the exceptions being the three Caesars Entertainment properties that unrealistically allow you to book as soon as this weekend, as well as Hard Rock and its offering of refundable rooms beginning Friday, May 22.

(Bally’s, one of the three Caesars properties, lists this week’s dates as “sold out,” underscoring the conclusion that this weekend’s reservations will go unfulfilled.)

Tropicana, meanwhile, has thrown in the towel for the first week of June.

Gov. Phil Murphy ordered closure of the casinos on March 16, which, absent the global COVID-19 pandemic, would have been the first week of NCAA basketball’s March Madness tournament.

Even a June 1 reopening seems like a stretch, given New Jersey’s continuing ranking of No. 2 behind New York on all major U.S. pandemic metrics, including total deaths.

Asked about the casinos last week, Murphy said, “There’s no news on casinos, but obviously the governing bodies and the representatives of the workers will very much be a part of any decisions that get made.

“Again, as I mentioned to the earlier question about golf, it isn’t golf versus non-essential retail. It’s outdoors/indoors, and casinos are quite decidedly indoors. Now, I had said at the very first press conference that I participated in on Friday, March 13, that they have big scale, which helps. But there’s no decisions there.”

I hope so! Plan is to go to Wild Horse today but they open at noon. Thinking around 2pm the initial line will be inside so will try then. If they are at capacity Lone Butte is 2 miles away and I saw they converted their bingo hall into a slot room so they have more machines.

If that doesn’t go I’ll end up at Ak Chin or will just go to the Fort later on. Either way I’ll be pushing some buttons today !

So i went yesterday to Angel of the Winds casino. Entered lot and registered in their virtual cue over the phone. Took 1.5 hrs to get in. Wont do this again for a while but im sure as other casinos open, it wont be a problem.
While i was waiting in the car, i noticed alot of people getting together and chatting. No masks and 2 ft apart. Mostly young adults and 60 to 70 yo men. Seemed like the old guys would initiate the convo. As i said before, this age group is most susceptible and most likely to not give a f... upset by this. I was afraid one of the old guys would pop their head in my window to try and chat.
Once i got texted, ID and temp check at door and was good to go.
Machines were easy to get on. 50% capacity so was not packed. If slots were grouped in 2, they were both on. If a bank of more than 2, every other slot was off . Lots of staff were spraying something on panels as they walked by empty slots. No plexi dividers at slots or tables. Everyone required to wear masks.
Overall i didnt like the waiting and mask was annoying but seemed the same otherwise. Non smoking was nice . My clothes didnt stink.

all day today I have been getting notifications about local casinos opening. Some on Friday.

I have zero interest until I see how this plays out. We have been successfully practicing self stay at home for 65 days with just trips out for necessary items. Last thing on my mind is entering a casino. I will in due time. It's just not a priority. I have a telemed appointment with my doctor next week. I’m going to get her opinion on the risks of flying. I’ve got plenty of masks and ordered wrap around googles to wear in the plane. I’m not really concerned about the casino. I’m comfortable with the measures they have in place. DH has given me his blessing to go..... so, maybe end of June, early July???

Zooms - thanks for the update. I get all those emails, luckily they have slowed somewhat as the event/music activities have been tabled. I golfed at Tri-Mountain (about a mile from Ilani) yesterday - we thought it would be a good day as the course would be less crowded with everyone going to the casino. No such luck, weather just perfect at 91 with a light breeze so the course was straight out packed. As good of job as they've done to reopen, I am in no hurry to get back as Clark County still on lock down. Continued good luck there!

Okay, Little Creek near Shelton, Wa (claim to fame (for Shelton, not the casino) Washington state prison lol) Opened last week. Hubby was talking about wanting to get out so I told him he had $50 free play there and that table games are open (some casinos don’t, just slots) so off we went. We got there and were routed around the casino where we were told there was a 40 min wait & asked to give a cell # & name & asked if either of us was a black or gold card member (Those levels get priority, sometimes it pays to be a big loser!!!). I gave them my cell # my name & said yes, black card. We were told to go park in the parking structure & wait in the car until we were notified to go in. Before we parked (and we found a space as soon as we went in the garage) got a text welcoming us & told to go to the door for entry.
Unfortunately I lost but hubby won $115 on blackjack so he was happy. We had dinner, Cobb salad for me & oysters & chips for hubby. First dinner not eaten in either the vehicle or the house since middle of March.

Just read Excalibur is opening June 11th. That will make five Mlife casinos open. Demand must be looking better than they were expecting. This is good because it will give their guest's every price point to choose from. Hopefully this is a sign Vegas will rebound sooner than later.
