We have booked flights to finally return to the Promise Land. However, we have added a stop in Reno. We fly to Reno on July 28. I’m thinking of staying at Silver Legacy. Is that a good choice? We fly to Las Vegas on July 29 to finally get to the beautiful Wynn until the evening of August 1. Would appreciate any Reno advice, as we will have only about 24 hours and don’t want to miss a “must see” or “must do” venues. Our purpose of adding Reno is to go to the Carson City mint.

Pretty much confirms what I'd heard about Reno. Didn't know that there was an underground connector from Silver Legacy, and also didn't know that Peppermill and Atlantis were not within walking distance of the others (not that I'd want to walk it after seeing the footage from his walk). Would have liked to see more on Peppermill and Atlantis (isn't that where Diana E films her slot videos?). She gets some good wins at those 2 casinos.

Yeah you can walk Peppermill to Atlantis, but it's a hike! It's actually not in a horrible area, nicer than downtown. It's mainly just a main strip with some questionable business establishments..Haha But yes Diana plays a lot at Peppermill now. Atlantis, Peppermill, and Grand Sierra are the nicest properties IMO after staying at all of them.

There is also skywalks between them, I think it’s a combination, it was a maze after a long night, but convenient. It was years ago and we stayed at circus circus and you had to take a tram to get to the hotel from the casino.

Hi hccj, congratulations on having a trip planned!

I like Atlantis and have stayed there mostly, love Bistro Napa restaurant there.

I don’t know too much about Silver Legacy, likely it will be fine.

Good luck and look forward to hearing about your trip!

Ken, thank you so much for the reply. Ironically, it was pompsies video that made me think Silver Legacy was a good choice, due to the three connected properties. But, now will be changing my mind. We will rent a car, so can drive there.

Thank you, Clemi! That’s the type of info I was hoping for. I think we will change to Atlantis on both yours and Ken’s recommendation. Maybe you and Elf will be there again and we can meet up for dinner in Las Vegas! We still talk about visiting with you guys.

Please send me your LV dates when you’re firmed up... [emoji4]

I hope you like Atlantis, the casino floor has a lot of games. And just to restate I hope you can visit Bistro Napa when there, it’s really good

I too hope we can make this happen! I’m staying at Wynn in a couple weeks. I hope

That would be awesome! I can’t wait to follow your adventures on your upcoming trip. I’m so excited to hear Wynn will be on your rotation. We have booked flights and rooms at Wynn for July 29 to August 1. Good luck to you in a couple of weeks.

Silver legacy was my home for years when they had had full pay deuces wild. I didn’t play any slots then just video poker
Downtown had lots of homeless folks then too but there were several casinos and it felt safe. Now those casinos have mostly closed. The group of 3 with silver legacy is the main area. The sands and cal Nevada are still in business as far as I know. They are old.
Rooms in silver legacy are nice when I stayed there I think they have remodeled since then

I started with Atlantis when slot fanatics had a meet there. Now I stay there or Peppermill or grand Sierra.

Thank you so much Luckylinda123! I’m not a hotel snob by any means, just want clean and safe. After posting this, I read extensive reviews and I already worry about those things based on those reviews. Definitely not staying at Silver Legacy.

If you haven’t decided already I would also highly recommend Atlantis.
It’s my all time favorite casino anywhere. The hotel is nice and has the most comfortable beds. Restaurants are good, and I feel overall safe there. Plus it’s a little closer to Carson City and along highway for when you drive down that day.

Peppermill is fine too, my only issue is the check in lines there get insanely long like Vegas but never had that issue at Atlantis.

Right now we are between Atlantis and Grand Sierra. We have quite a bit of time to decide, I’m just reading reviews and finding photos. We have decided to blow off Lake Tahoe, due to lack of time and we explore Carson City and Reno. Thank you for the reply. It is greatly appreciated.

I like Grand Sierra too, I usually stay there a night or two on my Reno trips. I like gambling at both. The main difference is GSR feels more like a "Vegas" type casino. Atlantis seems a bit more relaxing, but I think it's more because of the layout. You'll be good with either one though.

Thank you so much for the reply. It really makes me feel better to know a little more. We are having fun researching the area and planning various itineraries. If nothing else, it’s helping us get through the yuck.

So we’ve chose to stay at Peppermill for or Reno leg of our summer trip. I have created an itinerary that will allow for a trip to Carson City Mint Museum and hitting eight casinos in 24 hours. I’m taking bets on whether we make it to all of them. HHH.

Clemi, we also are planning on dinner at Atlantis’ Bistro Napa.

We arrive in Reno at 10:35 am, but have to leave our house at 5am to get to the airport, so hopefully we can endure the plans.

Good luck on your goal of hitting eight casinos. I would be lucky to make it to four. I get behind those slots and lose track of time. Sounds like a great trip!

Atlantis bistro Napa has a happy hour menu from 4-6pm which is a great deal. It is usually crowded. it is best to be early. The squash ravioli is very good. Also I like the flatbread, the ribs, and a shrimp dish. Some others that I don’t remember

When having a dinner I have enjoyed the steak house much more than bistro Napa.

We liked Carson city museum you could spend hours there.
