We're looking at getting an air fryer for healthier cooking and wonder if anyone has gotten or used a Ninja Foodi 6-in-1 Smart XL Indoor Grill with Air Fryer. Besides using it as an air fryer, I'd be using it to replace my little toaster oven. Right now I bake pork chops, chicken breasts and small batches of cookies in that. With just 2 of us, using the big oven is a waste. But I don't have enough counter space for both. Getting ready to read online reviews, but feel better with feedback from people I know!
In general, is an air fryer worth having? Are the fries really crunchy?
Thanks!

We have a cuisinart model that looks like a toaster oven, that is a toaster, toaster oven, air fryer. We use it a lot, toast takes longer than a toaster but can do 4 at a time. Have done wings, messy but good, frozen fries or tater tots come out good, corn dogs work well. Use it a lot to reheat stuff like pizza to crisp the crust back up. You could do all the things you mention, as far as I know air fry is basically a convection oven circulating the heat.
There was a thread where people were talking about them a while back

Yes the fries are crunchy. Ours came with a tray, rack, and basket. The basket cooks the fries all around so no need to turn/flip them.

We still use that some air fryer. Talk about upgrading but it gets the job done!
And I’ve made a pretty penny since loading that video haha

I have the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer, Convection, Toaster Oven. I love it. Toast does take longer but it gets nice and toasty the way I like it. It bakes food really well, makes air fryer potatoes, chicken wings. Does everything.

I love my air fryer. I got this a while back when it was on sale but I like the bigger size.

I cook my fries in it and they always come out crispy. I spritz them with oil. I like this one because I can refill it instead of the aerosol can.

I also bought this one for my mom from Costco. I haven’t tried it yet but I like it has other functions and same size as mine

We have a Ninja fryer because we had to have one. It looks great sitting on the countertop. We've never used it and have no idea how to turn it on.

My sister convinced me to get the Ninja Foodi, not the one with the toaster oven though. Mine took the place of my pressure cooker, crockpot and air fryer. I love mine, I can do bacon, steaks, potatoes, soups, stews, roasts, french fries, wings etc all in that one appliance and it saves so much space on the counter. My old crockpot, pressure cooker, air fryer and George Forman grill have all been retired to the top of the cabinet while I tested out the Ninja Foodi. Pretty soon they will find there way into a yard sale or more than likely Goodwill.

Add us to the list of have an air fryer and love it! Ours is the instant pot vortex: https://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/instant-pot-vortex-pro-airfryer-oven/?catalogId=79&sku=5585239&cm_ven=PLA&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=Electrics%20%3E%20Air%20Fryers%20%26%20Deep %20Fryers®ion_id=765030&cm_ite=5585239&gclid=CjwKCAiA65iBBhB-EiwAW253W_0J7F0057OXI4Oo97a9ZrHD2ZtDR9Bfw46PS8jqho 9OD-gGRVz0oRoCRzcQAvD_BwE
We use it for veggies, sausage, all frozen food. It has a rotisserie and a basket. We use it a lot and I would hate to be without one.

We're going the opposite direction in getting rid of our air fryer. Not that we don't love it but our counter space is so small and I hate to clutter it up so we're looking at a new range with an air fry feature. Still been impossible to get a good selection of fridges during the pandemic but I keep looking.

Thank you all for helpful thoughts, ideas and comments!
Darrell and I spent a few hours online yesterday researching, especially the models/brands mentioned here. I had started this thinking I'd get an air fryer/grill (DIL has a Ninja Foodi from CostCo that she loves). But as I looked, I realized I need air fryer/oven combo more. Our grill is just outside the patio door, in a covered corner so it's out of the worst of the weather which lets us (meaning Darrell!) grill year round. I use the toaster oven that this will replace at least 3 or 4 times a week, so baking is a priority. After all that, especially checking size (I have a lot of counter space, but only 16" from counter to bottom of the cupboard), we settled on a Cuisinart Mod# TOA-65. Ordered it from Best Buy so it should be here by the end of the week. Will let you know how it goes!
