Cruised on Carnival Miracle to Alaska 8/24 - 8/31/2021. Vaccinated or apply for exemption, negative test within 72 hours of sailing. Wasn’t THAT fun!!! Mostly due to trying to get results in timely fashion. Ended up sort of fudging answering on the questions for rapid testing. Hey, I’m a fat old lady, I get short of breath walking out to the carport!! Went to Alaska because no airlines involved, drive to Seattle, park, get on the boat.
Offer was for “free” room up to balcony with free drinks anywhere on the ship plus $500 Fun Play credits. The Fun Play turned out to be CASH!!! Ended up with ocean view room but that was okay, we were on deck 1, same side as the gangplank so we got to watch the port crew take it down which we enjoyed being sort of technical type folks. Free drinks was most places, not in the dining room or, apparently, the sports bar. Atrium bar no problems. Gotta figure out how to make low carb Pina Coladas!! Sugar free syrups (like for lattes) & rum, maybe some pineapple sherbet?
No sign of COVID since returning. I didn’t do any shore excursions, I enjoy just being on the ship & relaxing. I did hit a $1600 handpay on $5 Double Diamond.

On disembarkation morning we talked to people who weren’t sure exactly where they were going to since they had flown out of NOLA a week earlier ( this was on 8/31). I hope they were able to make it home safely. I told them they could come home with us but no one took me seriously including Hubs.

Zooms, was your cruise free due to previous cruising or through a casino offer? Sounds wonderful.

Previous cruising, combined with gambling level on previous cruises. Hubs also gets email offers, his aren’t as good. He’s a table games player & not a big bettor. We both get multiple emails weekly.

Thanks for the recap! Glad you had a great time! And congrats on the handy.

We have a Alaska Cruise planned for next May - fingers crossed we are still able to go, and COVID gets more under control! We are sailing NCL on the Encore - booked through Casino's at Sea and get a great deal!

That’s a good time to go, less likely to be raining there. We went in 2018, end of May, first week of June. The days are getting longer, building up to summer solstice.
