View Full Version : What's your on you list of things to do in vegas?
Our flights are booked. Our rooms are reserved and I am trying to create our activity itinerary for the trip. We did so much last year that I'm out of ideas, so I thought I would poll the experts!
What activity is on your list of things to do that you haven't done yet?
What is a "must do" for you when you go to Las Vegas?
Is Area 15 worth it?
Is Brilliant at Neon Museum worth it?
We really enjoy new experiences and they don't have to be gambling-related. We are not foodies and restaurants are necessarily our thing.
Although, we will be eating at Casa Playa and Sinatra's this trip.
We have a car for two days, so we are open to destination activities as well.
Any help would be appreciated.

The drive north thru Valley of Fire state Park then back along Lake Mead is a wonderful way to spend half a day.

Q1 : renting a motorcycle and riding out in the country around Vegas, possibly the area Trey talked about
Q2 : Gambling (duh lol) and hitting a good Buffet .. we like the Golden Nugget s one in the down town area . plus there's lots to see there as well .
Q3 : never heard of it . but now that you bring it up i will check it out .
Q4 : Another one i haven't heard of .
If yall haven't done the Hoover Dam tour its pretty cool . we all so took a ride out to Pahrump Na a few times . its kind of gamble centric but nice vistas along the way for sure .

I’ve really enjoyed both Area 15 and neon boneyard and brilliant!
I’d say to go to boneyard and brilliant at night and you can go to area 15 at any time of the day. we went in the morning and it was a nice break from the crazy heat we experienced on our June trip.
Of the two, boneyard and brilliant is more quintessentially Vegas. I do want to go back to Omega Mart bc I didn’t “get” what it was about although it was a cool experience otherwise. There’s other fun stuff at area 15 too.

Being the degenerate that I am, and it being difficult to pull me out of the casino, well, unless moving on to a different one, Red Rock Canyon is a place that I want to visit one day. It looks beautiful, and it is not too far from the strip. Having a car would definitely make it very doable. O matter what you end up selecting to do and see, have a wonderful trip! May it be Happy & Prosperous! Stupid-ass Dragon Link. [emoji2959] HHH!

Day drive up to Mt Charleston.. we did it on a rented Harley (brrrr) not a lot to see, but amazing to me in the mountains when Vegas is so close. One restaurant at the top.. Food was good, service a little slow.. but understandable.. may be tough to get employees up there.

Vally of Fire is on our list and that sounds like a great drive! Thank you for the suggestion. It's definitely on the list!

We did go to Mount Charleston Lodge last year and loved it. Since the lodge burned down, we have found that there is another place called The Resort at Mount Charleston that we can have breakfast or lunch at and we plan to do that.

Charlie, we did look up Pahrump and I think we might take a trip there. Thank you so much. I had never heard of it and my husband can get a chip from there. We've definitely run out of chips for him to collect on the strip.

Thank you, TAB. My husband is hesitant as well. I will share your thoughts, as I think he would like it very much. We are old and struggle to try new things.

Thank you, Dina! I've suggested Brilliant for a couple of years now and we are definitely going this year! He wants to get a chip from downtown, so I think I may suggest just "stopping in" at Area 15. At least there's no commitment to allocate time and we can bolt if he isn't enjoying himself.

Thank you, Zeus! My husband likes Vegas, but, unlike me, he is not into 24/7 gambling. A couple of years ago we started adding non-gambling activities and our trips have been so much more enjoyable for us both. I laughed out loud at your "Stupid-ass Dragon Link" comment. I followed your recent trip each day. It was great and I was shocked (and disappointed) when you said you and Allen were headed to airport. It just went by too, quick.

Derek, I think you just bought my ticket to Area 15! He will love a distillery tour. If we actually take the tour, I will report back for you and Amy!

We've been to Red Rock Casino, but not the park. If we don't make it to Valley of Fire, we will try Red Rock! Thank you for the reply.

If you make to Pahrump, consider going a little farther to Death Valley, if you've never been. At the bottom is Badwater Basin, -282 ft below sea level. Kinda out of the world experience walking out on the salt basin.
