View Full Version : Tell me about Mlife and Luxor

After basically ignoring MGM for the last 10 years, we're gonna give 'em another shot. Last time we stayed at Luxor was 10 yrs ago and we're staying there for 2 nts at the beginning of our trip next week.
My understanding is Mlife puts more weight on where you play than CET does when determining future offers, is that correct? CET doesn't care where you play in Vegas, it's one big casino. Am I better to keep all my play at Luxor or what happens if I spend a fair amount of time at MB or Excal? If I only run about $2K coin-in per day, should I expect any decent offers in the future? It's a 10 day trip and I can't go broke right away so I may be conservative at the beginning. We are paying a discounted rate for these 2 nights so no pressure, right?
The big question, does Luxor have any older Aristo slots left? Any older Aristo at any MGM property? Any slot advice at all? Our two nights are on a Wed-Fri.
Thanks!
Trey, I am no expert on Aristo slots, so no help here. We have been 100% MLife for the past 5 years in Vegas. We are doing 3 nights at CP just to change things up. We normally stay at Aria and Bellagio, but when we give some play at other MLife properties, and I do not mean a lot, offers start coming in for those also. They may only be for nights and maybe $50 FP and a little F&B..

The last time that I was in Vegas (2013) one of the places that I played was at the MGM on their "house machines". They are the "Majestic Lions". They are (old style) 3 reel, $1 denomination (max bet $3) slots that hit nice paying combinations quite often. I had noticed that you should play them during the daytime hours from about 7am up till around 3 or 4pm. It seemed like they had always tightened them up for the evening crowd. I can remember hitting many more winning combinations on these machines than on any other slot in LV>>> I made good $$ there on these slots... Not only will you have winning fun on these but they will also generate quite a few comp points for you also (many more than what penny slots could). Good Luck! : )

As you know. I'm mostly mlife and my only offers I get are for Aria and Bellagio. Nothing from other properties.

Mandalay bay prob has best selection for old aristos in original cabinets.
NY has a few also prob 20 titles or so Montecarlo has maybe 20 or so.
Aria has quite a few a lot of selection but a lot of buffalo also some good selection. All in the The old cabinets..
Bellaio has a few but not as many as aria

I spent a good portion of a day at Luxor in April and I was sad to see hardly any old Aristos (which are my favorite to play and I try to scope out whenever I hit a casino). Sadly I thought the Luxor slot floor was pretty bad.

I agree. When I was there last summer I thought their slot floor was severely lacking.

Hmmm, giving me pause about no old Aristocrat at Luxor....
May wind up playing at MB.

M-Life does care about where you play, though you can get away with playing a percentage at other m-life properties and still get invited back at the one you are staying at. I really don't like Luxor anymore, personal preference so if it was me I would primarily play at Mandalay Bay and see if your next offer is from them as I like the rooms, restaurants and casino better then Luxor. :)

Do you folks think I should call MB and see if I can get a comparable room there? Or should I stay at Luxor and play at MB?

Since mlife offers usually only come from places you've played. You should play at the hotel that you want to receive offers from. I probably would go to MB. Or Monte Carlo?

Hey, trey. If you're wanting to get back on the MGM radar, why not give Aria a lot of your play? I think it's one of the best properties overall. You will start getting some good offers from them right away.

Call up MB and see if they will honor Luxor's offer, also it's possible that Aria might too, you have nothing to lose by asking. :)

If those are weeknights days I wouldn't see them not doing it if it is weekends I doubt they would match Luxor

Thanks for all the input everyone.
I called Delano and they gave me a rate a little higher than the Pyramid Suite at Luxor I have booked. I got a nice deal at Luxor.
Also in play is 2 nts at Palazzo at a discount. Then returning to Palazzo 3 nts later for our comped stay. Very few old Aristo's still at Palazzo though.

If I'm remembering properly Bally's is really good with Old Aristos back by the south tower or whatever their OLD tower is called.

I'm trying to get some play time on these Aristos before they're all gone. Lost some favs at Riviera.
I'll get a good dose at Rampart. Still a bunch out there.

I'm moving away from CET Vegas for a while. Bally's put some older one's back in about a year ago which I thought was a shrewd move. Probably cheaper to get them out of mothballs than buying new machines.
