I'm pretty excited, two brand new land based casinos to open in my area next year. Who needs Vegas when all the hot competition between the two will be almost in my own backyard! I can almost see the higher FP offers and looser slots already lol.

Very cool GG and everyone else that this will be close to! I am impressed that they will complete it in a year. (It makes Massachusetts look even more ridiculous.)

Wishing you years of great wins and high comps at the New Isle!

No, Iowa has always allowed smoking in casinos. Illinois has the smoking ban.

I hope you're right.

New casinos ≠ high payouts?

I hope you're right.

New casinos ≠ high payouts? Petty sure that those two new land based casinos will try everything that they can do to get all the new players...and keep the old ones. :eagerness::rockon:

I wish the hell Texas would look at what is going on around them. Come-on Texas get out of the dark ages.

Yeah, but when a Texan bangs on a slot, he does it with a Smith & Wesson

Those who are familiar with the property, the casino will be built where that huge courtyard is between the two hotel towers. Both ends of the casino will be connected to one of the two hotel towers, making it the largest hotel/casino complex in the State. :)

..and the race is on! Davenport's new land-based Rhythm City Casino breaks ground today at the junction of I-74 & I-80. 75 thousand cars a day pass that junction and the City is expecting a huge boost in revenue.

The 110 million dollar resort is scheduled to open on June 1st next year, the same day as the new land-based Isle of Capri is scheduled to open

goldengreeke Maybe we can buy one and cruise up and down the mississippi and go from casino to casino clear to the gulf.

Yep, with all the locals the need for LV diminishes, especially for us older types who may not want all the noise and crowded conditions in Vegas. However, people watching is still a blast in LV.

They will probably sell the boats to Ft Madison and Burlington because both of them have really small casino boats, just my guess though. Maybe even St Joesph.

Ft. Madison doesn't have a boat anymore and Burlington and St. Joe are land based.
