We are planning our August trip to Vegas and received a nice offer from Caesars Palace for 3 night in the Augustus Tower with $225 in FP, and now have thrown in $25 in F&B. We are only Platinum, but will easily be Diamond if we do stay there. I went ahead and booked it while we decide. My question to the CET experts out there is if we book the offer as Platinum, but make Diamond during our stay, will they waive the Resort Fees? If so, how do we go about having that handled before we check out? It will not be a deal breaker if they do not. But we are still trying to decide where we want to stay. Thanks in advance!

Hey, zeus! If you do make diamond during your stay, just check with the host on duty the night before you check out. Should be able to comp the resort fee. Won't hurt to ask!

That's a pretty nice offer. CET gives out those nice offers but then kicks you in the nuts with the resort fee. "Thanks for staying with us....Whack!" I gotta believe they will comp off the fee if asked.

Stay where you want offers from, that's the compass we are using. Since your local is a CET it makes sense to me.

We have been strictly MLife in Vegas for the past five years, but after KC we decided to give TR some play this year to see what they have to offer. We enjoyed our stay at CP, but not the best casino of theirs.

CET is really giving you some good offers! Better than I get.

Maybe testing the waters and trying to lure more gamers.

Probably so but to be fair when we go to Vegas - we stay at CET comped but do not really play nearly as much in Vegas as we do at any other CET destination. Probably only half as much.

Zeus - you probably got more points on your stay then we normally do in Vegas. You know the saying - IT IS WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY!

Ditto. I haven't ever gotten this kind of offer. Maybe once but for Atlantic city.

Wow nice offer from CET....they are not that kind with the FP to me either. I bet they will comp the resort fee if you go to diamond on your stay. Like DW said, can't hurt to ask.

If they do just comp the fees make sure they don't subtract the $$$ from your Total Rewards credits. They did that to us in AC and we objected and got the Reward credits back. But they said if you have any Reward credits they first subtract the $$ amount from them. Said it was standard procedure. If you make Diamond they should just waive the fees.

If they gave you the reward credits back - did they take the resort fee off of your credit card you put up when you checked in?

Nothing had been put on the credit card originally. The room was comped to begin with (including any resort fees). We had asked about getting some meals that we charged to the room comped because we had played way more than usual. I told them we did not want to use the TR credits, but in the end they did (about $60 worth). When I called and explained what had happened, they did give us back the credits but said that they wouldn't in the future. I don't remember if they put the meals on the credit card or not, but would have been ok if they had. Like Penguin said, it's standard procedure to use the TR credits first before just comping charges at check out.

If you don't make diamond until after checkin, will resort fees be automatically removed or do you need to go to TR desk to have them removed?

Thanks
You have to be Diamond at the time of reservation to have resort fees waived. To get the resort fees waived you will need to see your host or the host on duty and it would be based on play. If you make diamond during that trip, chances are your play covers the resort fees to be comped on the back end, otherwise you will not be able to enjoy waived resort fees on subsequent trips.
