Thinking of skipping Vegas this year and trying Reno instead since the video poker is said to be the best in the USA. Anyone ever been to the Atlantis or Peppermill in Reno?
Thanks for any info.

I've been to both -- did better at Peppermill. We go to Reno at least once a year -- always stay at Harrah's, but would very much like to give Peppermill a try. We really loved the VP at Western Village in Sparks -- and they had great food -- but we haven't been there in a couple of years. Harrah's doesn't have much VP anymore, but we usually do okay there.

I was there twice last year. I actually stayed at Harrah's both times- but played at Atlantis twice, Peppermill twice, Grand Sierra once and Western Village in Sparks once.

All of them actually have some great video poker, except Harrah's only has a limited number of full pay machines. I actually think Peppermill's VP was slightly better than Atlantis, but I did better on slots at Atlantis.

I would highly recommend you skip Vegas and go to Reno. You'll win a lot more, which makes the trip more fun. After going to Reno, then to Vegas again I miss Reno.
I think that Western Village was the best casino I have been to in my life for how good the payouts are- but it is a small place and gets crowded (its owned by the Peppermill but uses a different card).

Thanks for the insight. Reno it is then.

Let me know if you need any more info. One other thing I'll mention, if you play slots, Grand Sierra Resort advertises that all of their Buffalo slots are set at the highest possible paybacks- and they have a lot of them. I found them a lot of fun to play and went there for that reason. Slot wise though Western Village was the best- I couldn't lose there if I wanted to, it was crazy.

I enjoyed my time at Atlantis, did ok on the slots, didn't dive too much into VP though. Enjoy your trip! :)

Amazing that Reno doesn't get more press with this information? Guess Vegas has better PR people.

Thanks CPT. All of you seem to like Reno a lot. Hope I have the same experience.
